  1. If you want a WYSIWYG, Dreamweaver is the way to go. I think it's pretty easy to use (not that I've had much time lately to use it). I've used Frontpage, and I think it sucks. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  2. As for freefly...I think the way they did the Eloy money me4et this year was really good. You don't have to have a team...just show up and you'll be paired with someone for each round. A scrambles is a really good way to get people interested in competing without the pressure of having to form a team beforehand. 3. I know for me, if it isn't Nationals, location has a the biggest impact. I'm probably not going to fly all the way across the country for a local meet UNLESS I'm trying to network in some way and I feel that being there would be important. In the 4-way world, that's why the NSL is so good...it provides more opportunities to compete because of the diverse locations. Good luck with your competition! Advertise it well and you'll probably get a lot of participation! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

    XM Radio

We have sirius. Seemed to offer more, and ALL of the stations are commercial free. Either way, you can't go wrong with satellite radio. Corporate Radio sucks. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

    JOBS

I'm in the Air Force. My current job is running the entire division's preparations for an upcoming inspection. It consists of sending and receiving emails, since I, myself, do not have to do any of the actual preparation. Email. Surf the web. Update a spreadsheet. Surf some more. More emails. I'm an engineer. I'm trying to get out. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  6. LOL...getting a job there is in who you know. Network, my friend, network. At least it may get your application looked at more closely. Jump numbers/experience doesn't matter as much as personality and physical ability to muscle people around in the tunnel... And the pay is more than minimum wage. Not much more, but more. 7. Well, for those who are/have been members on other message boards out there in internet land, you'd know that titles referring to post numbers is a standard thing, and probably a function of the board software. Some boards allow you to type in your own title. None that I know that have titles have the ability to base them on anything but post numbers or personal choice (you type one in). While I'm sure it's possible, it's probably a huge hassle, especially for a board this big. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  8. heh heh heh. I used to work on the sensors for these airplanes. It's funny to read an article written by someone who clearly has no idea what he's writing about. 1. the synthetic aperture radar on the Predator is rarely used. It sucks. Besides, the generals all like the little flying TV sensor too much to have it switched out with the radar (the Predator can only carry one or the other). "special radar" *snort* 2. Radar=radio frequencies=see through clouds. What do you want to bet the U-2's radar can see through clouds? Or the radar gun the cop points at you? Or air trafic control radar? ALL radar sees through clouds! Actually, I bet most of the U-2s were pulled off afghanistan and sent to Iraq...they are probably being re-tasked now that hostilities in Iraq have cooled...oh wait. But if Osama's hiding in a cave, the best U-2 radar, predator real-time video, or satellite imagery isn't going to be worth jack shit. Sorry, but rock is a pretty good shield for radar. 9. LOL, I'm sensing a theme. My first bike was a Honda CB-1, a little 400cc sport/standard that was only sold in the US for 2 model years (1989, 1990). So good luck finding one. It was an AWESOME little bike. I actually teared up when we sold it. I now ride a...get ready for it...that's right...you guessed it, a SUZUKI SV650!!! 10. LOL...My alma mater...Air Force. Not too great this past season. My hometown team. Miami of Ohio. KICK ASS!! Big Ben and the boys were the best mid-major team in the country this past year! woot! Go Redskins! OK, fine, they're the Redhawks now, but they'll always be the Redskins in my heart! Oh, and what's this? The Cincinnati Bengals actually didn't have a losing season! It just might get me interested in Pro football again! And let me just say on a basketball note: Air Force has 21 wins. They are the number 1 defense in the country. This is their first winning season since 1977. Joe Scott for Coach of the Year!!!!! 11. College all the way. Actually, High School is fun to watch. I'm generally more of a fan of non-professional sports, anyway. The amatuers tend to play more for love of the game than money. I like that. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  12. I think the original intent of Bill's post was to point out that they are the same thing. I know to me they are the same thing. Trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is putting me and my children and their children first. They are all (or will be) people. So when we get down to brass tacks, enviromentalists and those who put "people first" essentially want the same thing. The two groups just have different ideas on what is good for people. SUVs for all, good for people. Clean air, good for people. Which do you choose? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  13. Meh. Now, Air Force men's b-ball at 21-5...THAT's news! Joe Scott-National Coach of the Year! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  14. Well, there's a reason he came home early. Read this: http://www.snopes.com/politics/kerry/service.asp Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  15. OMG, Lisa, how are you? Don't see you around much anymore. I, too, am starting to be an "old-timer". I started in 1994, on a T-10. Did demos at the AFA on a PD-235. Bought a Sabre because that's all there really was at the time, besides a Stiletto which was way too advanced for me. I still have (and jump) my Vector II. When I sign logbooks now, people look at me in awe because I have a D number under 20,000. LOL! I love it. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  16. You should move to New Mexico, where Al Gore only won by 300 votes. It would count here! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  17. You misunderstand me. I was objecting to the use of the term. Which is why in my original posting of my numbers I used "non-training day". Still, I cannot separate the two. I voted 9-10, because most of my days at the DZ are training days. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  18. Training day? Usually 10. non-training day? 5-6 ETA: GAH! I wouldn't be on a team if they weren't "fun jumps"! I hate that! ALL of my jumps are fun jumps!! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  19. I picked "other". Hispanic Male. Unless that's considered "white" in the poll. Largest minority in the nation. Already the majority in one state (New Mexico), and soon to be in another (Arizona). Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  20. I have to agree. Coming off a femur break, I still can't run (well, I probably could, but I'm a chicken), and the butt-slide is the way to go, as long as you have a grassy area! Yes, people still ask me if I'm OK after a landing like that, but I'm not proud. I also found the butt-slide to be easier on a canopy that has some forward motion on landing, rather than a "stright-down" type. Consequently, I'm still jumping my Stiletto and my Jedei, rather than find a "docile" Spectre or something like it. 21. We have Sirius, and it soooo worth the extra few $$$ a month to not have any commercials. I love love love it! Corporate radio sucks. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  22. you know, he may be a little different-looking, but I think Adrien Brody is sexy. I'd have been all over that stage! woohoo! LOL, he's funny, too. What a guy. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  23. A little FYI about "Into the West." It's not really about hobbits. http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,2795220a2202,00.html Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  24. LOL, but they can only win the best actress oscar when they get ugly for their role! I soooo wanted to see Keisha Castle-Hughes up there. She blew me away in "Whale Rider." Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  25. Fan or not, you cannot deny that the trilogy was a monumental achievement in movie-making. 7 years, three films, almost $3 billion world-wide, without being incredibly cheesy (like Titanic). No one has ever done what Peter Jackson and his crew did with these movies. They truly raised the bar. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
