  1. oooh, oooh! By the way, I just want to send a HUGE shout to Kelly for getting a replacement freebag/reserve PC to Perris in such a short time! YAY on VSE's customer service! Andi Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  2. LOL, I had Kentucky in my pool. bah. only one of my predicted final four is left. bah. go UCONN. meh. Another crappy year in the office pool. And I started out in first place after the first round! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  3. As the owner of a chow chow (well, he's about 90% chow, I think), I make sure to always be with my dog when someone comes on the property. We have signs posted, as well. I always warn visitors about Leo's ideosyncrasies and the proper way to approach him. Trust me, I never woold have raised him this way, but I got him from the pound when he was two, and adult chows are notoriously hard to retrain. I don't know his background, but I have to think he was abused because is a fear biter, and he's afraid of everything, even to this day. I know how to take care of him, and I try to be a responsible owner. It pisses me off that the few irresponsible owners out there are making it difficult for the majority of owners to get insured. 4. Um, that wouldn't be good. Leo is, uh, well, let's just say that "anti-social" is an understatement. mainly because he's a big fat chicken and afraid of crowds, loud noises, strangers, sudden movements, bright lights, etc, and when he's scared, he bites...he's 8 this year and probably too set in his ways to change that. Because he's so snuggly-looking, people tend to approach him carelessly, and often get a growl in return. I really have to be careful taking him around people (I have to watch him and the other people constantly), though he has mellowed as he's gotten older. God, I make him sound like a monster, but he is VERY loving with my hubby and me.
  5. awww. Here's a stupid little page I put together for my baby. He now has a sister (a black lab), but we haven't taken enough pictures of her yet! www.themcnews.com/Leo.htm Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  6. good call on the choice of manufacturer. I like #2 better, but they both look nice. gray will be easier to keep looking good. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  7. OMG! Casie! You are the only other person I know who has to have an even number of candies!!! I can't believe it! A kindred spirit! You don't know how excited this makes me. My husband thinks I'm insane because of this. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  8. Good thread. 1. I've been published in Newsweek.
  9. LOL...found this: "Crazy, Random 'Chris Rock Thing' http://www.laurasnyctales.com/current/chris-rock.html Talk about a fun time! I searched, so if this was posted before, well, #^%$# the repost police. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

  11. LOL...yes, they are. But that's because I work at a government facility. Based on my continued participation in this forum, they are obviously not paying much attention. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  12. ...and here's to me, the best of friends, we'll always be. But if by chance we disagree... Fuck you! Here's to me!" ^an old toast I learned in an Officer's Club somewhere...it can only be shouted at top volume amongst groups of drunken buddies! LOL...thanks HH! 13. I've actually found the smaller DZs to be LESS clique-y than the big ones. Find a DZ with a single 182 and 15-20 regular jumpers. I am seriously going to miss that when I have to move from NM...yeah. we don't get a lot of jumps, but every single person there is someone I'd call a friend. It's too small to form cliques...there just aren't enough people. That being said...who cares what others think? Just be yourself, smile all the time, and be like a duck (let it roll off your back like water...) Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  14. dude, did you steal my bracket? I swear, mine from the elite eight on is the exact same! UCONN and UK in the championship game, UK taking it! Quit spying on me! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  15. No...Anabel can't become a freeflyer! LOL...tell her Andi from New Mexico says hi... Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  16. Kentucky's my prediction for the champ, too. I would love love love to see Air Force play Princeton in the second round. The prodigal son coaching his new "princeton offense" against the original...what a story it would make! I wouldn't count us out yet, pre...you never know what can happen. 17. well, shit. My DZ has none of those. Guess I'm screwed! Where's the "desert" option? In all hnesty, I'd go wherever the malfunctioning reserve puts me, praying that it won't be a building or power lines. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  18. Well, since I don't own a gun, the point is moot. but saying I did... er, there's a reason I don't own a gun...I'm just not a very good shot. I probably wouldn't be confident enough in my own abilities to fire at him, and besides, it's just stuff. Stuff can be replaced. If I shot and missed, what would he do? There's too many uncertainties for me to answer the question. Now, if he were threatening me or my family, then I'd unload in his general direction and hope that one of my badly-aimed bullets hits him. But kill him for stuff? no way. Like I said, it's just stuff. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  19. I was told (as a femur-patient myself) that the danger isn't so much the femoral artery, but all the other blood vessels that run through and around the bone. Enough of them can be severed that the loss of blood would be substantial enough for the person to bleed out. Of course, this was never told to me until months after my accident! I think I owuld have been much more panicked waiting for the ambulance if I had known about this in advance! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  20. OK, little game because I'm bored. This is an easy one. I post a topic, and you list five answers. Here's an easy one: Five movies you could enjoy watching any time. here's mine: 1. Field of Dreams 2. Any of the first three Star Wars movies 3. Either (soon to be three) of the LOTR extended editions 4. Better Off Dead 5. Office Space Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  21. My powers of prognostication are UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Figures. Reminds me of the initial knee-jerk blame-placing after the Oklahoma City bombing. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  22. I agree about the hastiness of blame. This is far from their normal MO. They usually target Spanish politicians or other figures who have spoken openly against Basque independence. They've been losing support for years, and I find it hard to believe they could pull off something like this alone. Their attacks are usually more "surgical". Anything is possible, though. Please, please, please, I beg you, do not judge the entire Basque people on the action fo the ETA. The vast majority of Basques do not support them or their measures. This saddens me, because I found of all the places I traveled in Spain, the Basques were the friendliest, most open people as a group that I came across. Their language and culture is fascinating, and San Sebastian is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Their cuisine is absolutely amazing, as well. I know the entire people will be judged by many for this action, and it saddens me. Here's a link for those who might be interested in learning more about the Basque poeple, history, and language. It's really thorough! http://www.buber.net/Basque/ Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  23. weird...maybe it was just the SQL server I was assigned, but it was down all the time. I finally gave up and had a friend host it. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  24. Well, I never got an A, because I didn't need one, and by the time I got my own gear (not governemt issue) and could begin going to civilian DZs, I had enough experience to get a B. This was in the old days where the ISP was nary a gleam in USPA's eye. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
  25. I also use Powweb for my personal domain. The only thing it doesn't handle too well are php scripts. But it's really well-priced for your basic hosting package. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
