I love it. We have Sirius, and while it's slightly more expensive, not having commercials is worth every penny. Plus I can listen to all the house music I want to without spending tons of $$$ on CDs. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

This is unfortunate. I think it has a lot to do with education. I am a Christian, but I'm also an engineer with a strong scientific background. I don't find the two to be at odds at all, but that's because I was taught from an early age to make my own interpretations of things, such as christian theology. I struggled with it for a while, but I've come to the belief that science is mankind's way of discovering (and uncovering) the mysteries of God. But I won't say that's a theory...it's my faith. And I'm glad to say that my family placed a strong enough emphasis on education that I am able to know the difference. Back to the education thing...nothing's going to change until we change the "anti-smart" culture in this country. Yeesh, our president even perpetuates this...the whole "I made it through with a c-average, and look at me now" attitude. Doesn't give me much faith in our leaders. I don't WANT a regular average joe as President. I want someone who I can say without a doubt is smarter than me!! Parents have to start caring about their kids' education, they have to want their kids to be intelligent. Nerds have to become cool. I don't see it happening anytime soon. Oh, goody. One of my favorite debates...though I'm not sure how we got here from Bush's apparent inability to correctly use the English language. I think we're getting confused over semantics here. A scientific law, such as Newton's second, has been proven to occur invariably whenever certain conditions are met. Not the same thing as "fact" unless you define it to be so. A scientific theory, on the other hand, is used to explain phenomena but it MUST be falsifiable...meaning it could be proven to be untrue at some point based on new evidence. Technically speaking, natural selection as a means of evolution of species is a scientific theory. Note that it is still scientific, meaning it could be disproven using the scientific method. Tell me, can creation be disproven using the scientific method? Try it. It never can be, since any counterevidence can be explained by "God wanted it that way." Thus "Creation science" is an oxymoron. The teaching of creation does not belong in a science classroom. It may belong in a religion or theology classroom, but not science. I love it: I grew up in his district. He nominated me for the Air Force Academy. He always supported me when I needed a letter of recommendation. Too bad I never could vote for him, even when he ran unopposed. I just can't agree with any of his politics. Typical. oooh, I don't know how to answer that question, since I think choosing a slot has as much to do with personality as it does talent. In a nutshell, a point needs to trust, a tail needs persistence, OC needs self-confidence, and the IC needs leadership ability. It's more complex than that, of course, but it worked well for my team last year. None of us had a lot of 4-way experience, and we ended up with our least experienced person at inside center, and our most experienced on tail. Yeah, you read that right. And we never regretted that decision. Ack! I can't answer your question! Maybe point, since they can be coached to wait to commit to outfacing moves. We also gave the slot-switch to the front piece. That's a decision that you should make when you come up with a continuity plan. Ours was that the front piece always switched. Besides, I'm a tail flyer, and you're gonna have to beat me up to take away my cool move on that block! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

One thing that helped us was having the sidebody piece concentrate more on putting the piece (as it's turning) in the tail's hands, rather than concentrating so hard on the point flyer. Worked really well. Your other comment got me thinking about slot selection, but I guess that's another thread. Suffice it to say, I think the common philosophy of putting the least experienced person on the tail is flawed. yes. or, at least, mine does. Since every Jedei is slightly different, you might get a different answer from every Jedei owner. Not that I'm a super swooper or anything, but I do notice the difference. I like it. I think it makes it much more 'intuitive' to land. I don't know how to describe it any better than that. Well, they've been using it in Canada for something like 20 years, and as far as I know, no long term bad stuff has shown up. Canadians? Anyone know? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Splenda tastes like sugar because basically, it IS sugar. The way sucralose was explained to me is this: Sucrose (regular sugar) is a "right-handed" molecule. Meaning the molecule has a certain shape. The enzyme in the body that breaks down sugar is made like a puzzle piece to fit that shape. What they did to make sucralose is make a "left-handed" sugar molecule. Now the enzyme that breaks down sugar doesn't fit with this puzzle piece, so the sucralose passes through your body. The only diet cola I drink anymore is Diet Rite, because they use Splenda. You can also cook with it, something you can't do with Nutrasweet (aspartame) or saccharine. hmmm, not sure what you mean by "backing up". The donut turns backward, so really, relative to the donut, the solo flyer (at least the way we do it) goes diagonally forward. It doesn't look like this on video because of the relative motions of the pieces, but the block technique I've been taught is to go diagonally (so you stay facing the donut). Hard to explain without a picture, but the inter picture you want is like the tail of a monopod/unipod, where you would be able to take grips on the leg of the person you're going to dock on and the arm of the person who has their leg (usually the OC and the Tail, but not always). You should be facing the middle of the donut at that point. That way, you can hook the OC's leg with your arm and swing around to close the block. Ugh, that's hard to explain without actually showing you. Look at where the tail is on a unipod (random A)...that should be the picture you're going for as you go to close the block. It should also be the point where the poeple in the donut stop turning it. ask someone who knows next time you're at the DZ. Is it time for an new dive pool yet? I lost track. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
Wow, such negative responses. Think outside the box. Everyone's right when they say you probably won't get gear sponsors or anything from the skydiving "industry". However, why not go to some hometown businesses or the like and ask them? You never know what you'll get unless you ask. Be prepared, however, to offer something in return. That being said, there are several books out there on how to put together a good sponsorship request package. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

It really helps to have a goal in mind...something to drive you on during the healing process. For me, it was 4-way competition. I can't imagine NOT doing it, and my determination to find a team and compete again THIS year got me in the air after my femur break in a little over 3 months. I still butt-slide my landings, and I'm fine with that, but for me the drive to meet my skydiving goals is strong enough to get me back in the air (and in the gym for physical therapy). Trump's apartment would be Marie Antoinette's dream. Seriously, it looks like Versailles! I really liked the show, and Trump was the best part. I think the smalltown farmer girl from Wisconsin is going to go far...she said nothing but her intro the entire show. I hope Trump kicks that arrogant bitch Tammy out to the curb at the first opportunity. I agree with Trump's pick this time. David may be smart, but he didn't seem motivated. LOL...I'm a self-proclaimed grammar nazi. Here's one that's been bugging me lately. People say, "I wouldn't step foot in there," when the actual expression is "I wouldn't set foot in there." Apostrophe use and word mispronunciation get me, as well. Every time I hear our esteemed president say the non-existant word "Nucular" I want to reach through the TV and strangle him. LOL, I've been to so many of those I've lost count. Seriously. Yes, as far as I'm concerned, they are worth every penny. You'll learn more in those nine days than you would in hundreds of jumps without the coaching and video. Have you been to a tunnel camp yet? You may want to consider one of those first, just to get your individual flying skills honed in, then go to a 4-way camp. I want to the 4-way camp first, saw a bunch of people there who had fewer jumps than me but could fly circles around me, found out their secret (tunnel) and immediately signed up for a tunnel camp. I saw the whole trilogy yesterday. ROTK is too overwhelming for me to review right now. I've read other people taling about this or that part that was so incredible, but when I try to think about those parts, the entire scope of the film overwhelms me. I'll have to see it again. Yes, I could have given up a few minutes of fighting for the houses of healing, but other than that, I didn't miss everything as much as I thought I would. I' even having a hard time figuring out what parts of the battle to cut, because it was pretty streamlined as it is. Miranda Otto and Sean Astin were the standout acting performances for me. And the ending is perfect. I'm sad, because an old friend is gone...anticipation of the next film, I mean. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
