I actually think it's kind of neat. Especially with a movie like this, that I love so much. It tells me that everyone else is as into it as I am, that they are absolutely loving it as much as I am. It warms my heart. Besides, all the clapping at ROTK was mostly during loud battle sequences, anyway, so you aren't missing anythng sound wise. I've heard reviews from people who went to critics' screenings, of this movie, and even the CRITICS were clapping in some parts. the loudest cheers were for the death of the witch king and when Sam started carrying Frodo... I have tix to the whole trilogy. And it's not 7 hours. It's 11!!!!!!!! HA! I'm actually headed to the theatre after I turn in a paper. See ya! Yes, I'm a geek, and proud. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

LOL, my dad the physicist used to yell at me in high school when I was taking HS physics: "There's no such thing as centrifugal force!!!!!!!!!" I'm a nerd, too, so when I hear the term centrifugal force used incorrectly, I grind my teeth. I usually don't try to explain, because the people using it incorrectly probably wouldn't understand, anyway. I'm also a grammar nazi, so I combine the best of both nerd worlds! I wish I had a scanner so I could draw a picture for people...it's so much easier to understand if you can see it. Finally, a pres standing for democratic values...

We did a simulation in one of my military classes in college that involved that entire region, including the spratleys and several other islands. The history, political intrigue, and animosity involved over claims on these islands is astounding, and it is very legitimately a potential hot spot in the years to come. The Koreas and Japan are also involved in this, which makes it even scarier. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
TAKE 2: For all you geeks, dweebs, speds, and freaks

KoTor is a good one. Morrowind is the best PC RPG out there now, hands down. But only for serious RPG-players, and no online shit, either. I love being able to fire it up and go ANYWHERE and do anything I want in the game. You don't even have to do the main story if you don't want. The best part is they released the software they used to make the game with the game, so there are thousands of mods out there that make the game even bigger. Baldur's Gate is good, too, but more linear than Morrowind. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
OMG...Shannara was a TOTAL Tolkien ripoff. However, I will admit that some of his newer stuff is more original, if still not that great. Seriously. Go re-read it and then look me in the eye and tell me you couldn't find the overwhelming similarities. Yes, I'm a Tolkien snob. David Eddings was almost as bad. TAKE 3: For all you geeks, dweebs, speds, and freaks

I had a TI and the original NES. Zelda had to be the best game, though. It really was the first game with a linear story and "puzzles" you had to solve...laid the groundwork for a lot of later great stuff. Castlevania was good, too. All I remember about the ColecoVision was a game called Zaxxon that I could never beat. It drove me insane! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
Wheel of Time;Blech. Try these two, still unfinished, but waaaay better: George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire Series. A Game of Thrones is the first book. Very well written, gritty, and realistic in that sometimes the "Good guys" die and the bad guys win...very good intrigue set in a fantasy world. Janny Wurts' Wars of Light and Shadow. Curse of the Mistwraith is the first book in that one...it's got a pretty unique premise, and is well-written. Try them out. yes...I'm a geek. I'm going to Trilogy Tuesday, by the way. nyah nyah nyah! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Actually, they are changing the assignment system AGAIN...now it's sort of a dream sheet, sort of an "apply for". Joint Spouse also means we talk a lot to the poeple in charge of our assignments, and face time is always good when trying to get where you want to go. I'm just wondering what to list first. Usually you get one of your top three choices, and there are more than three jobs in both CO and CA. I could also go to Los Angeles Air Force Base, but we do NOT want to live in the area of LA where it is located. Baaaaaaad. Can't go to Oahu...I'm an acquisition weenie and there are no jobs there for an engineer/program manager. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Well, it's almost that time again....the Air Force will be moving me (and hubby) next summer. There are pros and cons to each place, and they are limited because of my job and the ability to be assigned the same place as my hubby, who is also in the AF. I'm leaning toward one of the first two because of proximity to 4-way team possibilites and the like, but I'm open to the others. What do you think? Moonlighting rocked! Bruce Willis is a naturally-gifted comedic actor...it's too bad he got sucked into all that action crap. I was already thinking of these before I read this thread: Moonlighting MacGyver Cheers Zoltron (cartoon) Jem and the Holograms (rocked) Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Dude, talk to Christy Frikken. If you don't know who that is, she's one of the new tunnel rats, so you can probably find her there. Just talk to her about 8-way.

Museo de La Reina Sofia. It is the modern art version of the Prado, and has one of the best Picasso collections you'll find anywhere. Go see "Guernica" if you get a chance. The way they have it displayed makes seeing it one of the most incredible and powerful art experiences you'll ever have, hands down. Once you know the back story of the painting, it rips your heart out. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Well, she said she was going to Barcelona...it's not THAT far from there! yeesh. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Oh, I am JEL. I spent three weeks in Spain after college, and I loved it. If you have a chance, do try to take a train over to San Sebastian...it is the hidden gem of Spain as far as I'm concerned...a beautiful city with friendly people (as long as you aren't Spanish), incredible food, and amazing scenery. The Basque people are warm and friendly, especially if you show an interest in their culture. Have FUN! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

LOL...one of Skydive New Mexico's former pilots flew one of those skyvans over from Indonesia. Just imagine flying a skyvan all the way over the Pacific! ugh. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

LOL, yeah, I'm a little rusty on the four-way skills, but the tunnel will cure that real quick. (they turned it on this weekend, by the way...but no flying yet). Lew, I was planning on doing butt slides, but it is so windy here this weekend that I ended up just sitting. Of course I picked the windiest weekend yet to come do this! LOL. Only made 3 jumps total, but it was worth it, if anything to let me know what I need to work on. See you all around! YES...I will be at Eloy. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Woohoo! I made my first two jumps today since I broke my femur! I feel INCREDIBLE! Now I'm sitting here at the Bombshelter in Perris and unwinding after a cold and windy day. I can't wait to jump more!!!! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

LOL, welcome to TFA, Tunnel Flyer's Anonymous. My name is Andi, and I'm a tunnel addict. We'd like to welcome Rosa today to her very first meeting! YAYAY! Fortunately, you CAN beat this addiction, but there's only one way: MORE TUNNEL!! Welcome to the club of tunnel addicts, girl... Just wait...next week y'all's hatred of Jon is going to either drop to zero (if you're gullible) or go through the roof (if you're savvy). There's a reason next week's episode is called "The Great Lie" Sandra's my fave, has been since the first episode. I might like Darrah better if I could understand what she says.
