Tug of war? WTFO? Is this the olympics or the scottish highland games? huh? meaning bicycles or dirt bikes? If the latter...the argument about no motorsports in the olympics, powered ride to altitude thing goes out the window. ballroom dancing a sport? come on. Karate I can get behind. Don't even get me started on golf. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

hmmm...don't get out much, do you? You must live in Deming. New Mexico is gorgeous, but I'd have to admit, the northern part is prettier than the southern part. I miss the clean air and the mountains... Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Dogs are wonderful! I love my two babies, and I do have a suggestion for you. Look for a breed that is described as "inactive indoors"...these are usually good dogs to have in an apartment or condo. A lab probably isn't a good choice. A chow chow is. (I have one of each) I got my chow (a mix, but he's 90% chow) when I had a 900 sq ft condo, and he did fine. The thing about the chow chow is they are very clean dogs, and are easy easy easy to housebreak. many of them naturally housebreak themselves, especially once they get used to a place that is their new home. They are very fastidious and don't like to go anywhere near where they sleep. Chows are very independent...I swear, sometimes I think I have a cat instead of a dog, he takes care of himself so well. My chow is fine left alone, doesn't chew or dig, and will NOT go in the house...if he does, then I know he's sick. The other thing about a chow chow is that you need to "socialize" them young...meaning you need to have as many people, kids, and other dogs hold, pet and play (gently!) with the puppy. My chow is one of the most loyal dogs I've ever seen, and he definitely has his own personality. I know they have a bad rep, but I've seen and been around lots of these dogs, and not one of them has ever acted mean or aggressive toward me or my dogs. Its all in how they are raised. What route are you taking? If you are going the southern route (I-10), I would agree with the suggestion of Carlsbad. It's mostly desert west of there. If you are going I-40, I would suggest a side trip up the "Turquoise Trail" to Santa Fe. It's State rte. 14, the exit is off of I-40 just east of Albuquerque. Going north is a beautiful drive. You can head up to the top of Sandia Mountain and look down over albuquerque, then keep heading north through Madrid ( a little artsy town...pretty neat to walk around), then continue up to Santa Fe. The Plaza in Santa Fe has great shopping and history. If you can't make it up there, I'd recommend the Sandia Peak Tram at dusk, it's a great ride. Continuing east on I-40, you can see El Malpais national monument just east of Grants...its a giant lava flow from the volcanoes in the region (did you know NM is the second most volcanic state in the US, besides Hawaii?) Or stop at Acoma Pueblo. NM is really one of the most beautiful states in the US... Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

ding! people thought I was nuts for jumping my Stiletto and Jedei right when I came back from my femur injury, but I tried renting a Spectre 150 and that lasted one jump. I stuck with my own stuff because I know how it flies and lands, plus both of them flare out very nicely, which allows for a nice soft butt-slide (really sliding, not just coming straight down on my tailbone) should I feel it necessary. Zenister, did they put the femur rod in through your knee or your hip? Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Ex-freekin'-cuse me?!? "Cheney Blames Democrats for Gas Prices"
BikerBabe replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
^^^ what he said. very succinctly and eloquently put. Unfortunately, Americans (political affiliation aside) tend to think in the short term, because thinking/planning toward the long term tends to be more expensive now. You know, there area lot of things I don't agree with the administration on, but the biggest thing that will never allow me to vote for GWB is this one. It makes me almost physically ill to think about the shortsightedness of the administration and their big oil cronies. Gambling - not just Vegas and Atlantic City anymore
BikerBabe replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
In NM, the indian casinos are just like Vegas. what is this no "bank" table games? They certainly have those in the NM casinos. However, their liquor license is only valid in the bar area, so no free alcohol on the casino floor, including the slot area. I don't really have a problem with it, I guess. And the tribes are making money hand over foot. Most of them are too new to see yet what the tribes end up doing with that money over the long term. excuse my total un-PC-ness, but in NM we called it their "revenge on the white man". good on 'em. looking for a 4way team to film for Nationals
BikerBabe replied to linestretch's topic in Relative Work
I'm sure there will be several pick-up teams who will be in need of a camera flyer. I would say your best bet is to show up at Perris a couple of days early and just hang around...tell manifest who you are, etc. Good luck! Yay Spank and South Parc! good to see all that time at Perris paid off! Congrats all. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Well, I'm off! The car is packed, my doggie is in the back seat, my house is in boxes, and the new house in LA is waiting. Next time you see me post, I'll be in CA permenantly! Woohoo! The best part? I don't have to load the moving truck! I'm leaving early to open up the house and train this weekend, my hubby will follow after with the truck and all of our stuff. See y'all on the flip side! But it's good to see that you enjoyed yourself! Yeah, the fast landings kick butt! Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

When does Your Audible first go off on RW jumps
BikerBabe replied to j3zz's topic in Safety and Training
It's funny, but even when I'm doing hard-core 4-way, my internal clock tells me when it's about time to go. Sometimes the thought will cross my mind that "gee, this is a realy long skydive, shouldn't we be breaking off soon?" then my dytter will beep. Those are invariably the jumps where we got a bit of extra altitude for one reason or another. I don't look at the ground on 4-way training jumps. But my internal "clock" is pretty good at telling time. Weird. Mine is set for breakoff altitude. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
What do People who OPPOSE Bush think of Edwards VP?
BikerBabe replied to freeflydrew's topic in Speakers Corner
That's because unlike the rest of the skydiving community, it seems that the majority of people who post on DZ.com are conservative. Or at least the ones who care to "debate" (if that's what you would call it) are... Strange...I must hang out with too many DZ bums, 95% of whom, in my experience, are liberal and would never support Bush. If you're looking for liberals here, there are a few, but they are often drowned out by the sound and fury of the screaming masses of Bushies... As someone who opposes Bush, I think it will be a good shot in the arm for the Kerry campaign. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! -
Was she dressed as a man? Because technically, women aren't allowed to run. I've been. I didn't run...I watched from a very high, very safe place. The end when all the runners and all the bulls are in the bullring is the best, funniest part! That's what they should show on TV. San Fermines is amazing. Imagine Bourbon Street on Fat Tuesday, then imagine that seven nights in a row, and you might begin to scratch the surface of the sheer amount of partying that goes on. My trip to Pamplona: Crowd into square with 300,000 other people to see the mayor shoot a rocket. Drink Drink Tapas Drink Drink Dinner Drink Drink Somewhere in here Day 2 begins Drink 8 am watch the running of the bulls. Go to park and sleep 5 pm Watch the corrida (that's the bullfight) Drink repeat... Yeah, I could only handle two days, then I had to go back to San Sebastian to recuperate. well, the blatant spelling error in the first sentence is a clear indicator of the quality of article it is to me. I was tempted to stop reading. errr...it's "exhilarating" not "exhilerating" grrrrrr Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

I dunno, I kinda like "Perris Schoolgirls"...has a nice ring to it. Perris Stealth? Like, you're never around? Like we can't see you? WTFO? heh...both teams I've been on, the team name was a point of contention...moreso that any continuity plan or training schedule!!! Good Luck! yeah, well, the ticket prices started rising when the corporate sponsors took over. Try listening to Sirius's "left of center" stream, or www.kexp.org to see the kind of real music I'm talking about. And it seems to me that the more money people have, the more refined their musical tastes. Most of the listeners from my now deceased 97x WOXY fm were decidedly upper middle class. Here's an example. Has anyone on here HEARD the new song "Portland, Oregon" by Loretta Lynn and Jack White? probably not. My local "alternative" station was told not to play it. Not mainstream enough. Too Bad. Loretta Lynn's "Van Lear Rose" is by far the best album out this year so far. And it would be a stretch to call it country, or anything other than alternative rock. Sorry you'll never hear it on the radio. I'm so tempted to fly to Austin this September for the Austin City Limits festival. There I'll be able to see the Pixies, one of my favorite bands from the 90s... Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

So who would you all prefer? Wait, let me guess. 311 Hoobastank Incubus Limp Bizkit Godsmack Any other band that sounds the same as the ones above Am I close? Ugh. Lollapalooza was a testament to independent and truly alternative music. I would have paid incredible money to see Sonic Youth, The Pixies and Morrissey. But heaven forbid that the lineup actually include bands that sound different from everything else out there... But then again, no one hears these bands anymore because CORPORATE RADIO SUCKS! well, the AAA was a really close battle... AZ Blade won with 101 points Perris School Boyz 2nd with 100 points (that's DanBC's team) I think Elsinore GT was third, but don't quote me on that. dgskydive's team won the AA class. I was training 8-way, so I didn't get to compete with my team...they used a fill-in. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

You sure about that? Actually, I agree with your list except Gephardt. I think there are others on the list above him. He needs to pick soon. It would give his campaign a sorely-needed lift. Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Thanks for the great photos, Paul! JP, the barking was homage to a teammate from last year, Georgie the barking camerawoman! You Ranch hands know what I'm talking about...I figure Georgie would be proud that I barked loud enough for someone still in the plane to hear it!!! 1000 down, countless more to go!
