'right before the elevator doors open' nononono- you'd want to yell 'DOOOOR' right AS they open, otherwise, you'd have folk plastered up against the doors and blocking them Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

who's going to be at Skydive Atlanta on the 25th?
Brokeneagle replied to chopchop's topic in The Bonfire
I think they're doing the night jumps next Sat. nite-- and you're always welcome to join us for some fun, any time yer in town -
Come on out, goofyness- Ron IS a very cool guy-- so's Sandor, and most everyone else out there- we've got freeflyers and flatflyers for you to play with-
-
milo, Clay's got the best three DZs in the state up there; if you can, check 'em all out- just take away the 's' in Atlanta AirSportz and replace it with a 'z'. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

So, Dutch, guess I won't have to save your slot on the night RW jump at Atlanta Airsportz ... chopchop, glad you're comin' ta visit; just got my 4th cast off, but am not cleared to jump on my own- maybe we'll meet next time -
yup, I've BASE jumped-- many years ago- off the Perrine Bridge in Idaho- a LOT scarier than a regular skydive- and I did actually log it, too, LOL!--last night's soapbox post-jump was too short, tho Not usually bad-tempered, but had had enough of grope's crap and popped off the post before I thought about it, then read the rest of the thread and saw I had come in at a peaceful lull-- ergo, the second post- should know better than to impulse-post Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Sorry, guys- got here late-- shouldn't have taken that shot at grope, but it just pissed me off, him back to talkin' trash at folks (sigh) I'm off my soapbox now... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

who gives a shit about you? You're running off at the mouth talking crap again, and sounding like your real true self again. Glad the pious act is over. Yech, what a jerk. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Born in Atlanta, GA. Currently living in the house I was born in. (Yes, it's an old house.) Current home DZ is Atlanta Airsportz. First jump at a DZ that no longer exists:the beautiful mountains of Ellijay, GA., Skydive North Georgia. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Thanks, Dave- I had a different landline#; haven't had time to try this one yet- I'll give it a go, tho- I have a fax # for AirFX listed as (561)778-7872... is yours the same? I haven't met Paul; the two females running the tent at Quincy were Irina & Malaika- my paid invoice just had the PO box # that is no good on it (sigh) Thanks for the street addy; I'm driving down to St. Petersberg first week of April, may make a side-trip just to satisfy my own curiosity. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

LOL!!! And the one next to it, for tandem passengers? Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

AirAnn, I can't run fast, but I sure as hell can drive fast (ask Dutchboy or Deadbird)- let me know when yer ready; I'll take the getaway car driver job, and I'm only a few hours away from AL. But why stop there? I'm sure we can find plenty more animals that need rescuing-- and no, I'm not talking about you guys, Clay or Justin! Oh, and I'm a natural Ugly Girl; how do I apply for my number? I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

'S the first movie about skydivers made- some of these "older" skydivers might know, but definitely try ebay or your semi-local vintage video store; also, some of the larger DZ shops might know of a copy- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Funneling is sometimes unavoidable with groups of low/high experience jumpers, and sometimes done on purpose to topple a "skygod" from his/her self-imposed pedestal-- FYI, in politically correct terms, a funneled jump is aka a "zoo load". In street skydiver, a FUBAR, and in gutter terms, the name "cluster fuck" has been seen in a few logbooks.... no matter the name, let's keep the "fun" in the occasional dive that doesn't go as planned.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

'but we would need photographic documentation to prove it' LOL! And what's stopping you from following that old skydiver saying of 'let's not and say we did'? Or are you just refreshingly honest? Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

ROTFLMAO!!! I vote for Whoopsplat.com- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

'better to share a good fart with friends than bad breath' Hmmmm, the voice has changed, but the breath remains the same.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says... -
Dale, if pushing your hips at the earth like you're going to drill thru it with yer pelvis doesn't help, try bringing your arms and legs in a bit; maybe you're too spread out body position-wise - what's your experience level? Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

zzzzzzz(snore)zzzzzzzzz wake me when we get to altitude....zzzzzzzz..... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

'a middle aged person might not fit in or be at an age to START skydiving' Age is NOTHING- the outside doen't count; it's what you are inside-- your attitude will dictate how you fit in this craaazy sport-- I'm 45, holding momentarily at 125 jumps- my first static-line JM is 60-someodd and still quite active-- he out-parties a LOT of the younguns... besides, younguns are fun to jump with- come play when you get ready- we'll be here... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

poor little titmouse-- at least the bird had a name that was right for contact with a male skydiver.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Go, Lisa!! Congratulations!!... may the Great Grin From Within (which, of course, starts in your belly button, then wraps around your face a few times) stay with you the rest of your days! (HUG) Glad you made it back from your serious injury- if I might be so bold, bytch, I've got a couple-three questions for ya: 1. How many jumps did you have before your injury? and 2. Was your injury from a misjudged landing? I'm recovering from breaking the crap out of my "good" leg- wear a leg brace full time on the other; am beginning to get apprehensive about landing again-- 3. I wanted to know if your nervousness was centered around the landing or the jump itself- I'm never afraid in freefall, but canopy flying, hmmmm.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

I'm in. Somebody else'll have to spot tho- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

... long as we're thinkin' this thing over, with a choice of tee, babydoll or tank. Dark grey, white, black.... I'd buy it... (grin) Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
