  1. I have the choice of two helmets, a Protec and a Z-1 fullface- with the Protec, I'll wear my glasses with a pair of over-the-glasses goggles, Kroops manufactured-- and my glasses fit up snugly under my Z-1's faceplate, no problem there-- However, I wear bifocals, which cause perception problems of their own, so I normally jump without the dadblamed things to begin with.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says... he is giving me a reputation I do not deserve!

  3. the anticipation of the exit itself and the overwhelming feeling of release/relief as I throw myself from the plane out into the gorgeous, ever-changing ocean of air where I belong....... then the freefall- still cautious under canopy yet, but learning to enjoy that, too- Brokeneagle. 4. NEVER miss Safety Day, Chris... for any reason, if you can help it- whether or not you jump, and I can vouch for that personally- - and be optomistic; bring two pair of gloves and extra layers, just in case of a usable sucker hole- got a fullface helmet? They can come in very handy on cool jump days...and flaring for a slide-in snow landing can be fun, too-- Brokeneagle. 6. Great shots, chopchop! looks like y'all had a blast- I see you've improved your flying skills even from when I met you! I have only lurked a friend's tandem; was not sure enough of my flying skills to get in there safely, so I didn't attempt to hook up- an' that WAS good belly flying fer a freefly freak- Brokeneagle. 7. I explain using the combination "have you ever dreamed you can fly?" and "it's the most beautiful sight I have ever seen, the earth spread out in front of my eyes, better'n National Geographic" method- for me, flying with my body's all I have ever wanted to do, as long as I can remember- I dreamed of flying constantly as a child growing up, even inventing in my dreams a little pill to MAKE someone fly- you take it, wait 30 seconds, flap yer arms and take off-- Brokeneagle. We're all learning, no matter what our jump numbers, so don't EVEN let that intimidate you- just make it a point to remember to always have fun, every jump- ask every question you can think of to all of us; we don't mind, most of us are friendly....'course, some of us are not- Brokeneagle. 15. We pre-registered, paid for it and went ahead and bought a ten-pack of regular tickets, along with my biplane ticket and our helicopter tickets over the internet; the pre-registration and prepay of tickets meant we had practically no lines to wait in- very good experience. Have a blast! Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says... he is giving me a reputation I do not deserve!
  16. Oh, I dunno, Chaz- sometimes ya just get lucky and find your soul mate at the strangest places (insert home DZ here)... 23. ...a book of world myth/fairy tales, with stories of how the Bunyip and other world mythical monsters came about, and excellently intricate, brilliantly illustrated improbabilities in stories from the Ukraine like crushed bread cursed by an old crone turning into brightly coloured patterned snakes.... never forget those illustrations- I pored over those stories for hours, reading by flashlight under the covers so my folks wouldn't see the light...
  24. And would you be wearin' an altimeter on your chest strap, sir? If you do, DEFINITELY snug it up- mine is snug but no pinches-no altimeter on it-- I don't even need to loosen it under canopy to be comfortable in the saddle. Brokeneagle.
