Always dreamed I could fly with my body, ever since I can remember- would dream I invented a pill you could take, wait 15 seconds, flap yer arms and take off... or that I was flying underwater in slo-motion with winged feet, without needing oxygen, or a magical clear pillow that floated on air would appear in front of me and I would run away from my playmates and jump to catch it, then go floating away over the treetops.... sometimes, you CAN have yer dreams!.... Zennie, if you want to do BASE and don't want to take the risk of getting busted, do it at a legal BASE location, like the Perrine Bridge in Idaho, or out in Moab, at a previously undisclosed location.

who's going to be at Skydive Atlanta on the 25th?
Brokeneagle replied to chopchop's topic in The Bonfire
LOL!! (slapping knee) You're such a good person (but I knew that)! We cool people hang out together quite well- and I have excellent taste in my friends, thank you very much- So, ARE we doing night jumps this weekend, jumpervali, airsportz? Does hisgoofyness need to pack a cooler for his continued amusement after dark, or can he just bring the fridge? Will the Dutchboy fly in to make an appearance? Will Doug let us jump his new 206?? For the answers to these burning questions, stay tuned.... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says... -
'I'm hoping for the night jumps in case I have to work during the day' So'm I, big time!! How else am I gonna see the beauty of the night sky you guys have been bragging about? Alas and alack, only unsubstantiated rumors are afloat....'leastways, till we hear from airsportz or jumpervali-- heerd th' full moon isn't until the 28th... but remain hopeful-- chopchop, may want to call and confirm first-- Brokeneagle. love 'em! Like to ride 'em all with my feet locked under the seat and my hands up in the air... in the front, back, middle, doesn't matter, wooden ones are terriific, also like clean upside-down loops and stand-up type; the sideways loop thang messes with my inner ear... I am thinking that many friends have been made now; wish you well always! Jessie will always be one of us- she'll just be our support and ground crew instead of joining us in the air... I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

one last random haiku from Jessie: the scene has gone and hope spills forth from the gate of insanity; real? I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Jessica, this one follows your last- she's getting tired... My voice grows dim, though my thoughts stay sharp, Goddess help if neither are heard. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

AggieDave, Jessie has a random haiku to follow yours: The battlefield goes unnumbered, the score not yet settled. I will win. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

the eyes of the world watch me as I pass by them with evident glee All these were conjured up within four minutes by my daughter- she may not skydive, but she understands our mindset well... damn! Wish I could be a haiku genius like her.... I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

Politics suck, don't they? Actually, ducky, I think there's not that much animosity between GA. DZs- most of us are, for the most part, quite sure of the best DZs in the state, we may have our "home" DZ we're at the most, and the others we jump periodically-- however, ASC does not qualify to us as a DZ in GA. Now, mebbe in some of the 40-50 OTHER domains Cary and Ben call ASC, it's a DZ-- Questionable business ethics and/or practices aside, they just don't have much good to offer up-jumpers. Small crowded landing area with numerous hazards available if you want it there. Manifest that takes a LOT of time trying to talk tandem mill students into buying unnecessary logbooks while jumpers wait instead of processing loads is there, too. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth just thinking about the B.S. Check some of the older threads on what's going on at ASC- And check out the other DZs- once you see the difference for yourself, you'll know. Brokeneagle. negative, I saved up for the trip and paid cash; I'm one o' them POOR skydivers, credit cards aren't within my range-- nice thought, tho- thanks for the ideas and numbers, guys- so far all have turned out to be dead ends- y'all are terrific (but I knew that)! (sigh) Ah, well- mebbe if I talk to the Quincy folk, they'll have some clues-- dang, guess some things ARE just too good to be true, even in skydiving At least I know some guys at the DZ that are handy with a needle... disapproving whuffo friends, spending time with whuffo family members that tell me to give up my sport, you get the idea... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
