  3. Hmmmm, I dunno-- I think if you guys had boobie-shaped hackeys, some of you wouldn't throw 'em at pull time, just fondle them all the way to the ground Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  4. I have one, but my RSL has been removed; if I need it, I want the time to get clear of crap before I fire my reserve. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

    Children?

I'm very lucky; both my daughters are extremely supportive, the exact opposite of their grandmother- my youngest is 17; some of you have met her on the 1st haiku thread-- my eldest is 27, her hubby and my grandkids love to come out to the DZ- my granddaughter, 3, and grandson, 7, love the colorful parachutes and seeing the skydivers play under canopy. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  6. I went to watch my brother and his fiancee jump do tandems; they chickened out, I went instead.... Now he feels responsible 'cause I broke my "good" leg on a bad landing last November-- aiyahhhhhh- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  7. Whew! Glad yer ok, Omri! Scary stuff- not had that experience yet, 'n don't care to get it, either- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

  10. 'does anyone remember the title of that thread' hey, goofyness- I don't remember the title, but I believe that was one of Dove's posts, if that's the one yer thinkin' of... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

  12. Wa-hooo!! Dang, that's good news- I liked that place when it was open before, even tho we had to ride in a bus from the landing area to the DZ proper.... Flagler is a beautiful small town, nice beaches- and as I recall, beach jumps for qualified jumpers were a common occurance, too And is this the same Howard Adams from Skydive North Georgia/Ellijay jumping days, worked at one time on canopies with Red? Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  13. Hey, Milo! Glad to see you again! From my first (a total of 14 tandems brfore I could get the courage to jump on my own- fear of heights, thru a year-at-a-time breaks for family or health reasons, static-line thru jump#4- too much altitude and an uncontrollable spin, fear break (8 months), starting the AFF program, up to getting stuck on level IV thru 7 tries with non-helpful AFF jumpmasters, a 10-jump package at Flyaway to correct that dadgummed uncontrollable spin, changing jumpmasters and then finally passing the rest of the program with no problem) taste of the air, all I wanted was to be back up there-- no matter how scared I got, I knew I belonged there, and with the fine family of people I found doing this insanely pleasing sport, felt right at home. Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  14. I've lucked up and found THE jewel of Georgia-- Atlanta AirSportz- with its outstanding staff, great facilities, cool Porter to jump out of, showers, camping, huge landing areas-- it ALWAYS feels like home with our Friday and Saturday night campfires and feasts and our open jump club atmosphere... these are people who jump because they love the sport and they also give back into it 100%- no cliques or crappy attitudes, always family and kid-friendly-- owned and run by skydivers, we have an enthusiastic mix of accuracy jumpers, RW, VRW, sit-flying, pond-swooping, night jumps, all part of the fun... noodle dives.... Come play! In a month or so you can laugh at my attempts to learn butt-slide landings... gotta stop breaking these legs, ya know... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  15. Everything else I attempt... Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
  16. Good job, woman! These guys make a great family, don't they?... Keep yer chin up now; and concentrate on healing that bone stronger than it was originally- eat well for strength to heal- modify your diet where necessary with extra chelated calcium, vitamins C, E, potassium and protein, and bone-rebuilding and cartilage rebuilding supplements. Exercise sensibly as you can and often as you improve... now's your chance to come back even better--bone injuries DO get better and less painful with time (for the most part)

  19. Agreed- this is an excellent community service we all have going here-- always do enjoy a good mutual-admiration society-- we partake of what most call crazy with enthusiasm and great glee... and we are, for the most part, a very intelligent, eclectic, caring, and humorous group. I thoroughly enjoy the willingness to exchange ideas and information- cyber beer to all! Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
