I used to think dropzones would be relatively safe for jumpers since they supposedly had radio contact with approaching aircraft in the area.... until our experience with a DZ having a major boogie not answering their radio-- Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...

So, anybody flying thru with an instrument rating to Richmond that can pick me up and bring me back? I can't speak for Dutch, but I'll GLADLY share trip costs for the chance to get to this last blast of summer boogie- and our plans have been thwarted by weather, but my spirit still wants to fly! I've jumped Javelin, Talon, and Dolphin- so far, the Dolphin is the most comfortable for me. Regular RW or sit-flying/spinning or other aerial play seems to be no problem for this type container. Now, now, leetle one-- don't make us SHOW you that there's no time limit on pies-- it could be devastating to one's dignity... and public pies are ALWAYS more challenging and fun.... ... remember FAR part 105.666 from the SMM, Skydivers Misinformation Manual that poor Dutch has been under the shadow of? Well, there's also FAR 105.666, section II, which covers ALL OTHER JUMP MULTIPLES of 100 under the PPP, personal pie provision. Check fer yerself, woman. It's all there. Brokeneagle. Congratulations to you and Watcher, leetle one!! I got out there yesterday-- misjudged my landing so only got in one jump, but it was FUN!!! Have a blast at Deland- I love that place! Fine choice of playtoys to jump, and fun folk to do it with. Also PLENTY of eye candy fer the both of ya.... see you in a couple weeks; leaving Sun. fer Chicago and Quincy.... later, woman!! Hey, Dutch-- I'll buy ya a couple of fun jumps; I'll even meet you in Rome Sunday if you can break away from the whyffo-- if not then, think about it for next weekend-- I still need to work on my Cessna exits anyway, and the Spectre lands jest fine.... you don't have to go without jumping until Quincy, 'lessen you jest want to.... and now's a great chance to change what you work at into something you want to do... And, yes, I've taken several still photos and camcorder shots of some of the older, beautiful courthouses I've gone out to- some were built in the late 1800's and the architecture is absolutely grand! How did you know? (But they're not on my walls- have too much stuff from China, martial arts stuff, some tandem skydiving shots, and Jackie Chan posters up there for courthouse shots-- courthouses have to do with work, and my walls have nothing to do with that, LOL! My name is Faye Taylor- I'm a land title investigator- I research public records in courthouses for folk who are selling or refinancing properties across the state of Georgia. I go to a different courthouse every day, so I get to really see the beauty of the state and am never bored with the same old office routine. I also work for myself, so if I want to work a half-day(or just take off), and I can afford it, I do.... LOVE the diversity of our family! Brokeneagle. I may be able to take off Friday to get to Thomaston and learn this Spectre toy before Chicago and Quincy-- Mouth, you still going to be there? Dutch, are you sure you can't make it? Tony, I would be honored to meet your wife ... and I'd GLADLY pay you for any shots you could get of me-- I have none of myself in freefall or under canopy up high... perhaps you'd allow me to treat for lunch or dinner, as well

Zen, I've played twice so far at sitflying/freeflying; my Z1 was just fine-- I think it's just more of the freeflying market that Boneheads are aimed at. If you really want to get a Bonehead without spending the going rate, check out one of the auction sites, like the Sunshine Factory-- I got a great price on my Z1 there...

In that same vein, how many of us have known someone who died in a car accident?.... yet we keep driving- more of us are injured driving to and from the DZ, or in the bathtub, taking a shower, or at work or puttering around the house by far than in a skydiving accident-- you can let any excuse you want to stop you from doing anything you are doing if we focus on only the horrors of everyday living-- a part of which we cannot escape, of course, is dying.... we will all perish eventually; don't let that simple fact stop you from doing what is important to you! Take heart- we are a very special breed and rare-- Brokeneagle. It's only the giving that makes you what you are... In the end, only kindness matters....

Paul- I'm glad you're, for the most part, ok-- it could have been much worse! So sorry you're hurt; you're an intelligent, heads-up person, and not to get fixated on landing just comes with experience, OR seeing someone else make that mistake. Shucks- I can't get out of the courthouse till Sat.- have to save up some money for Quincy-- I would LOVE to jump with you- I have never forgotten your kindness to us, nor will I ever forget it- Please let us know if you can stay over an extra day... remember, you have many friends here who would gladly share their homes with you...you're such a good man(but I knew that)!

Mebbe most of us have already been burned in a relationship, and are looking with jaundiced eye at even more risk than we already take-- exposing ourselves to more pain than we can control.... and then again, mebbe most of us are crazy- or antisocial, or misfits of society- like the whuffos say we are-- personally, I believe that we are the people our parents warned us about.... I wear a Z-1; it's snug, but it works- MUCH better than over-the-glasses goggles- must've been four or more times those danged things have worked loose in freefall and I have had to stop the skydive to hang on to my expensive bifocals- definitely try several different helmet types on to check your own fit- good hunting!
