Oops. I mean wallpaper...sorry! Brokeneagle. It's only the giving that makes you what you are... In the end, only kindness matters....

I'm not 100% sure, but on the map I've seen, it shows an area marked off for jumpers' personal or private aircraft parking; never having flown in there myself, we are still researching. Dutch'd know more about the situation, or Bird. Guys, feedback? Brokeneagle. It's only the giving that makes you what you are... In the end, only kindness matters....

Cool, Dutch- have fun with him- I'm leaving for New Yawk City 5 a.m. Fri. thru Sun. nite-- I'll be there in spirit, tho...
-
gotcha- empathy, sympathy-- need to borrow my paintball gun? Just imagine, you see him out in the yard, bent over trying to pick up something, and and then you say (or not) Oops, I'm so sorry, are you all right?! What can I say? Some folks make my friends unhappy, some folks deserve certain sensations....

There's a difference??!

LOVE to fly! Rather fly than any other form of transportation- the variance and beauty of the earth spread out for me to see is awe-inspiring and uplifting to my soul-- only thing better is to make a skydive....I've been known to bring my rig as carry-on in a backpack on commercial flights- IF anything happened, and god forbid, it looked like we were going to crash, I'd try to make it out the closest door, altitude and other passengers' panic permitting, of course. 'S bad form to go in without all yer handles pulled.... DEFINITELY enjoy stunt flying....flown under several bridges on a base-jumping trip, at an undisclosed location, just for the fun of it, to see the folk on top point and shout- you can almost read their lips: What the fu(K??!!!!

Ehhh? What do you mean, Mouth? I wasn't even there.... Besides, since I never saw Dutch's pieing, AND by intentionally trying to mis-number his logbook and skip over his magic 100th till whatever time he saw fit, he is under the threat of FAR 105.666, the dreaded P.P.P. (he can explain it) from the Skydivers Misinformation Manual- he can be pied at any time, any place, until we deem his deliberate act of defiance atoned for... now as for YOUR 200th pieing, rest assured that we will do everything we can to make it good, clean fun.... hmmmmm, mebbe that new foamy soap..... It's only the giving that makes you what you are...

Doan' worry, leetle one- no one knows.....

my deepest condolences to the family and friends.... it is so hard to understand the purpose behind the death of a friend or loved one... there must be a reason for our lost ones to have been called back so early in life; we are here if you need us. Broken.

LOL!! I wondered about that, too! Mouth, how long have you known about the sale of the DZ? I don't recall the ex-DZO saying anything to us..... 'course, it was his place, and his to sell, but I would have thought they'd've broadcast the news to the jumpers... shit weather today

I'll be at Rome Sat., leetle one, jumping with Dutch, Bird, and the Rome crew- mebbe have to come out Sun., it'll be my last time jumping for a couple weeks- Sifu's going to Puerto Rico to judge the kung-fu competition there, and another senior student and I are running the school- LOL! Wonder what'll happen about our jump plane down there when Mike leaves? I've gotten spoiled with those bench seats...

Dutch- you say Thomaston has new owners??! Who?

Tony, I am so glad you came out to be with us for Michele's memorial... It gave us all a chance to thank you in person for your selfless bravery. We are honored to have met you and I think you know you have a home here whenever you wish to visit; there are many of us who would volunteer to have you stay in their homes. I hope we will remain friends for many years- and you should watch the girls grow up... we all care deeply about each other in this dangerous sport we love- may we all have your courage if the time ever came to need it... you have earned your place in heaven, Tony... and we thank you from the deepness of our souls... Faye.

Mouth speaks for us all; we grieve as a family...we are grateful for your help in finding out who to thank; for your kindnesses in sharing what happened, Ramon and Hotload, Tony for your courageous and valiant efforts, and the rest of our skydiving family,YOU, for your thoughts and condolences and encouragement-- we will give your words to the family.... thank you so much, my friends, for your help....
-
Ramon, thank you, yes, Michelle was from Atlanta- that's the confirmation I was looking for. Is there anyone else out there that can give us any info? We are all very shocked and saddened as we have known her and her family for many years and jumped together; she was a very heads-up jumper normally and jumped with an RW team here in the G.S.L.- her team took 4th place?? this year, just two weeks ago- we appreciate the help, we will plan a memorial jump for her here... thank you again for your help, Ramon. Blue skies, everybody, even in the darkness..... Brokeneagle. (only in body- never in spirit)

I just heard some terrible news- a friend, Michelle Thibedeau, has apparently been killed in a skydiving accident in Texas. She just moved there last week with her children for a new job, raise and promotion... I heard there were two planes, a Twin Otter and another type involved in the jump itself, that there was a problem with the exit, and somehow the prop of one of the planes was also involved. Please, everyone, remember our fallen comrade in your prayers, and their children... I may not get a chance to pay my respects, her parents will probably be having her funeral in Michigan, but I will be there in spirit, we must all look out for each other... Any Texas jumpers, Dallas area, Skydive Texas, what happened with Michelle?
-
Dutch- has yer counting caught up with yer jumps yet? You know, you've broken one of the cardinal rules of jumping..... ever heard of the PPP?
-
And let's not forget the ever-popular, 'when in doubt, whip it out' or that oldie but goodie, 'arch, fart, pull' ; I'm sure there are several hundred more floating around.....
-
remember when I asked for you all to pray?
Brokeneagle replied to cyberskydive's topic in The Bonfire
Well, guys, it apparently didn't work that time, shall we try it again? -
Very cool, Dutch! What time will you be there Sat.? Mott's supposed to go for level 2 Sun., bringing the family, and maybe Sifu- he's been bragging to Sifu about how different and cool AFF is from a tandem, any bets on how long it'll take before Sifu's pride has him doing an AFF?
-
Yup. You sound like one of us, all right. Glad ta meetcha- welcome home!

Yeh, couldn't walk- piece of junk ankle went out again. Damn- yer lucky, Dutch- must be nice to be able to take time off from work to jump Friday! Courthouses are closed Mon., so I have to work Fri.--I'll be at the DZ Sat. a.m. by around 10 or so-- even if I don't get on yer big way, I'll be on the load if I can... my Spectre's in! Can't get with Bird till Sat. eve, so won't be able to jump it till next weekend. See you at the boogie!

Don't be alone, phat- and don't give up on yourself yet. For what it's worth, I know where you're comin' from- I have a strong fear of heights, yet I've dreamed I could fly from the time I can remember. I took up jumping as a tandem passenger- fell in love with the sport and the people that participate in it-and took 14 more tandems till I could screw my courage to the sticking place and do it alone- went to static line- did good till my 3rd freefall jump- got scared out of my mind by too much altitude(can you imagine that?) and a built-in left turn in freefall. Took 6 mos. off because I was too scared to go back, always looking up at the sky, wishing I was up there, then took 2 more tandems to re-remember why I loved this sport; then took up the AFF program- did fair, still had that built-in left hand turn--until level 3... couldn't pass that to save my life- you better believe they told ME to go bowling! But instead I went to Flyaway and bought a 10-flight package- finally, on the 7th attempt, I passed! Went straight thru the rest of the program, even skipped level 5...if skydiving is something you REALLY want to do, then don't worry, you'll find a way to do it. Your desire must just surpass your fear.....and I still get scared before a jump, but I always remember how much I love it in plenty of time to override that fear...
