How come none of the personality test's, horoscopes, and stuff in the general same category, dont ever have a "Your a jerk, looser, you will never find a good job, you will die a virgin unless you pay for it." Or "today is a 1 expect to get kicked in the ball's by someone that hate's you. Watch your car because it should be stolen or reposessed today, And that girl you slept with two nights ago had clamydia, you should expect the symptoms to show up on your live in girlfriend that you sread it to, today." Now that would be something to see, Could you imagine a disgruntled Horoscope writer on his last day of work? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

At Skydive Deland they have these really small goggle's I think they are called Brazillian goggles. They should do you well, was too small for most men but they are still big enough to look through. I bought a pair once in a hurry because they were the cheapest ones on the rack, but they look funny as hell on my head. And I dont see why they are so cheap, their well made with a cloth covering on the outside with lots of color combinations/patern's. Good Luck. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

http://www.chinafreehosting.com/dvdcd/index.asp?affid=shelly99&dvn=J82384xJBfw22wJ6L This looks too good to be true. I have a friend that works for TWC, and he told me that everyday your cable box has 128bit reverse encryption. Is there any way this will work? (Asking all teckies out there)? Or is this a scam? Not like I would ever steal cable anyway. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Im curious as to what American food is? Please post back and let me know what is on the menu. I have a friend that moved to Iceland and she was all excited to go to "The American restaurant" in rejavik. She was dissapointed because all that was on the menu was Hamburgers and Fries. I'm sure with all the burger Kings and Mcdonalds over here we could be thought of as burger eating feind's but really I dont think of the Hamburger as the all american food. But still dont know what is. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Gaffers tape it isn't exactly stronger than duct tape in a way. Gaffer's tape is so good because it is clean. If you remove duct tape it leaves a sticky mess all over where it was. Also gaffers tape needs to be activated in a way. when you take it off the roll it really isnt sticky but if you rub it to heat it up, once it has been applied it will stick a lot better Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Cheapens? I don't see it. If anyone dies in the name of your freedom they deserve the best respect you can offer. All the time we hear of someone in a far off land dying, and no matter what the news say's, they died for our way of life. I wake up every day and thank God for the fact that I was born where I was. And then I really thank god I live in America. I chose to be an American, I wasn't born into it, but I like the fact that I dont have to sleep at night in fear of bombs falling on me right now. Do I agree with a possible war? I dont know. But I dont think that anyone I know/dont know, should give up their life for what our president desides to be a good reason. And I really dont think that my son should give his life for that either. If there were people dying everyday, then I could see fighting to help someone out,. But my point here is not to fight about politic's at all, I just wanted to point out that many hero's die every day and no one notices. We need to quit overlooking that and take notice about the world's hero's and who has given their lives and children, for us to live the way we do. While most of us are complaining about the weather and why we cant jump. Other people are dying to make sure we can go to the dz and have a good day, as opposed to hiding from gunfire/bombs as it is happening right now around the world. And even though the Columbia 7 need recognition a lot of people deserve recognition also. Putting you flag at half staff/mast is minor but its a start. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

You should have seen tb99 he was the guy buying all the beer!. And to tb99 you should know skygod7777 he was the guy coming in like a bat out of hell under canopy. I remember having a discussion with Kelly in the hanger about stuff. Unfortunately we didn't make the connection, I would have introduced you to everyone. There was a shitload of big name freeflyers there that day, as everyone was heading down from the PIA to Sebastian for the big way's next week. But Chris Fiala, Max cohn ect were all there that day, and they all are cool people. And to Tb99 Infamous Ray (I dont know what you are talking about). I try real hard to make myself noticed as little as possible anywhere.

Since nothing is available about the catapult fatalities on the net, other than the one fatality already mentioned. I cant post the other one. And my source for it (which he showed me documentation about) is currently sailing around the world. But just because Its not on the net it doesn't mean it didn't happen. For now all I can post is this: Hi, Ray -- I can't speak for Booth or anyone else, but the Catapult has been criticized for being a liability in a situation like this: Say you're tumbling badly when you deploy your reserve, and its pilot chute snags on your foot and creates a horseshoe. But the "secondary" pilot chute does its job and pulls the bagged reserve out of the pack tray and starts lifting it above you. Unfortunately, at that point the primary pilot chute comes free. It goes up and wraps around the bagged reserve, creating a bag lock. You die. We party, which is what I hope you'll do when I burn in. I don't know if this has happened. We've reported on incidents where the Catapult seemed to be an asset, and we've reported on at least one where it was seen as a factor in the accident. --Mike That was from Mike truffer publisher of skydiving magazine. Im sure if he wanted to take the time to look through past publications he could find the whole story. But if the catapult was such a good system why isn't it used by anyone? And why is it that Fliteline that went out of buisness, then back in buisiness not using it? *** >The catapult was designed by a well known and different company that > sold it, and in the testing stage it was proven to be dangerous. The catapult was designed by Mick Cottle; I participated in some of the early tests. Which test proved it to be dangerous? >But the out of buisiness company used it anyway, because it is a great >sales pitch, to people that dont know what they are buying. Mick designed it because a reserve PC problem almost killed him years ago while he worked at Perris. You shouldn't listen to DZ gossip to get your info about gear. >You obviously are talking about something you havent seen. If you > have seen both you would definitely see what the systems are and >how they are different. I have no idea how it works beyond your desription that it works like a sorcerer, and I have seen that in action quite a bit. If you would like to explain how this one works, instead of making clever sarcastic remarks, I'm sure people would find your description interesting. Since you admit that you don't know how it work's, then why did you feel like you should question, what I was only observing. Any questions you had should have been posted at the designer. Thankfully the designer desided to talk about his product, and until the video and description of it is on the web, description is almost impossible without seeing it. >Of course it is a bad Idea, no one wants to cutaway at 500 ft, but the > truth is, it will happen, and if I was at 500 ft with a mal, I would want > whatever was the fastest safest deployment system out there. Fortunately, if you find yourself in such a situation, you have the choice to cut away first or simply deploy your reserve. I teach my students to never cut away below 1000 feet; if they ever get that low, so many other things have gone wrong that just getting more nylon over their head is a better idea than cutting away and trying to get their reserve out before impact. Keep in mind that altimeters aren't even accurate to more than a few hundred feet; what you think is 500 feet may be 300. Using the cutaway handle at all at such an altitude is a very, very bad idea. How do I say this and not upset you? What a student is taught rarely happen's. Just because you teach someone to not cutaway less than 1000 ft doesn't mean he won't. All this system does is help the people that make bad choices to live. I am sure you know that just because you tell someone not to cut away under 1000 ft they will still do it. And given the choice of riding in a mal at 975 ft, I would much prefer having a system that would save me from riding a mal, or a reserve fired into the mal (As to your instructions) into the ground as apposed to cutting away and living. Do you really tell your student's to put more nylon over their head if they cant cutaway before they reach 1000 ft? A lineover is a lot safer than a downplane, or even worse a reserve/main entanglement. But if you can loose the lineover/linetwist safely and fly a safe reserve wouldn't you rather choose that option? I am sure that you don't tell your student's to pull their reserve under 1000ft, if there is a problem with their main and you just misworded thing's. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Anybody using a side-mount PC on a Bat-rack?

Im watching an interview with kevin smith and he say's that even if he wanted to do another Jay and silent Bob movie, he cant. Supposedly Jay is in Prison for a long time. I know there is a ton of Kevin Smith fans on here, so has anyone heard why, and for how long. I was so looking for return of the Jaydai. Or whatever was next. Im learning to pack reserves, right now. One step towards one day getting my ticket. For practice I opened a rig I had sitting around for about 2 years. It has a pd126 reserve in it. After removing and inspecting the canopy it was in excellent shape and I would have no fear of jumping it (After looking at it, not before). The only problem I have is it is extremely wrinkled. So much the slider has trouble holding shape. Im wondering if there is any good way to get the wrinkles out? I thought of putting it in my bathroom, and turning the shower on for a few minutes, is this a good/bad idea. It still packs up good, but it would be a lot nicer pack job if it had less wrinkles. Thanks Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Just a question? What is an H-mod? I know someone that uses a saber 107 for bird-man jumps and he installed a small slider pocket and has been having great result's. Took some tweaking, his first pocket was a little too big and made the openings a little too slow/long. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

There is nothing wrong with them calling themselves composite, that is what I assumed they did, and would be correct. If they claimed to be %100 carbon fiber then that would be wrong, but I dont think they do. fiberglass isn't a bad thing in a helmet, actually a %100 carbon fiber helmet is more brittle. Most helmets that have to pass an impact test, use kevlar for most of the helmet, this is much stronger than carbon fiber and fiberglass, but it is hard to work with so it is easier to put a few outside layers of fiberglass. Fiberglass, carbon and kevlar are all considered composite. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I know Vladi from skydive Deland jumps a PD 113 and he is much heavier than 215 lbs. I think the tso for the reserve is 190mph with 250 lbs. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Just be carefull when you roll the tail. Specially with bigger canopies, you run the risk of pulling your lines in front of the canopy. This can cause a lineover. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Thanks for the update Bill, I only looked at the skyhook at the pia, and saw the video, I also witnessed the test jumps you did at my home Dz. I was waiting for you to put it on your website so people could see what it was all about, or talk to you personally about it, before I mentioned it. And of course your description will always be the best. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Today the flag's are at half mast all over the world. For a good reason, as a tribute to the 7 astronauts that tragically died returning from a mission. Now with the threat of war over our head everyday, the possibility of people dying in the name of our Freedom is ever looming upon us. As well as the innocent people that died in the sept 11th attack. And the soldier's, American, English, and from all countries that gave their lives in the fight to end terrorism, in Afganistan. Today is truly a sad day for all the families, and everyone that was touched by the Columbia accident. I propose that until the thought of war, over Oil, Terrorism, and the threat of weapons of mass destruction, we as Americans, and all the free countries of the world that we keep our flags at half mast everyday. Every time someone dies in the name of freedom, they deserve our tribute, and all the time we hear of soldiers, and civillians that lost their lives due to some terrorist, or fanatic. Even though we take a minute to pray for them, they dont recieve the tribute they deserve. Add to that the Police and Firemen that have given their lives to promote a safe environment for us to live. Half mast everyday until the possibility of this unneccessary war is over, and until our friend's, children, husbands and wives are safely home. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Since your an expert at the Catapult I dont want to argue with you. Oh well I will. You know of two people that lived because of the catapult. Directly because of the catapult or just a reserve deployment? I know of 2 that died because of it and Directly. There is a reason why no one used it, except a company that went out of buisiness and rebuilt and now won't use the system. The catapult was designed by a well known and different company that sold it, and in the testing stage it was proven to be dangerous. (The burble created by the bottom pilot chute caused the top chute to stall and fall, sometimes causing a loop in the system with the top pilot chute falling under the reserve bag and wrapping the whole thing up.) But the out of buisiness company used it anyway, because it is a great sales pitch, to people that dont know what they are buying. Also since you know so much about it, I wont say that the catapult wasn't designed at all to speed up deployment it was designed to counter the burble and offer a second catch point for the air offering a second oportunity for a pc to catch air, and deploy the reserve. Nothing about the catapult will ever speed up a normal reserve deployment. Quote Of course it is a bad Idea, no one wants to cutaway at 500 ft, but the truth is, it will happen, and if I was at 500 ft with a mal, I would want whatever was the fastest safest deployment system out there. Once again I am defending something I was just commenting on seeing at the PIA as my post heading said. But if you want to argue about it I can do that. Jump shack is my neighbor as well as relative, and both of them dont mind discussing what they have and dont have. Take some time to think about it, and heck once you see what the system is, If you want to compare Jumpshack, mirage. Javelin, Relative, whatever, Im sure that some manufacturer's will love the design some will hate it, think about all the manufacturers that wanted to use capewells because 3rings were so bad. Apples, Oranges, its all the same but the skyhook is so much different. It has its applications just as much as a Rsl, in some applications it is a great idea some it might not be. If you dont like it after you see it, feel free to make your point, but dont compare it because everyone that has seen it knows it doesnt compaire. But your the expert not me. Im just commenting on what I saw. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
