Not to hijack the thread but, there was this guy in Deland AJ, he made the mistake of letting someone he just met hold his key's at a club in Orlando (Long story) anyway, of course his truck and all his gear dissapear, The guy that took it had no idea what skydiving was about, but here is the clincher, Im not 100% sure if this is true, but its what he told me, he received a call from the Police somewhere up north (I think Illinois) they found the body of the guy that stole his truck at the bottom of an antennae with Aj's rig on. His rig was a mirage with a spectre 150. Supposedly the guy's buddies said they were watching tv and base jumping was on, and the guy decided since he had on of those parachute things he would try it. A fitting end to the story of a not so smart theif. Could this possibly be true, Anyone hear about this or read about it anywhere. Actually NO! Without the Coffee and soda I feel like crap, Im taking NAP's now and I am tired a lot, and really have a hard time getting started in the morning. I used to be pretty hyper and had trouble sleeping, sleeping in is a good change. But I do notice a lot better ability to study for school. Better concentration skills. Is it worth it Hell no! Magic # there is none, the time is when your safe to fly with other people. When you can put yourself where you want to be when you want to be there. There is a guy at my Dz that has hundreds of jump's and he takes out half the dives he gets on when he is wearing a camera. Ability to fly determines if you should jump camera or not. Also limit your camera flying to jumps you could be on, Ie if your not good enough for an 8way freefly then you shouldn't be filming it. Or a 10 way belly fly. After 5 months with throat problem's I take myself to the doctor. I know should have been sooner but I thought it would go away. Anyway he is at a total loss, we take a bunch of xrays and there is a considerate mass in my throat right around my esophagus. Now Im scared, he's scared, he orders me to go to a throat specialist for a biopsy and a scope to look at the mass. Trouble is the doctor he wants me to see won't let me in for 3 week's. That is a hell of a long time, longest 3 week's of my life, sitting around wondering if I have cancer. But at least he gave me a good supply of happy pills to pass the time. So doctor day comes, and throat scoping is definitely not pleasant, but good news no need for a Biopsy, Yeah! Bad news is I have GERD. Gastro Esophical reflex disease, sounds scary but its just heartburn on speed. But since I wated so long there is a large amount of scar tissue so thus the mass. He said 5% of sufferers have no symptom's and Im one of the 5% this is why the first doctor couldnt figure it out. Now the bad news. No Coffee No Soda No spicy foods And Oh my god NO BEER! Ok you just took away my whole diet. Coffee in the morning, soda for lunch and dinner (Usually Chilli for lunch with tons of Hot sauce) then on to the Beer! But its been a week, and the medicine and my diet change is working, my throat feels fine, my voice is sounding good again and I think IM getting better. So considering the alternative life is good. Oh yeah since I dont want to worry my MUM and tell her I had to tell someone so guess its you guys. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Ive seen the canopies jumped a lot. Nancy also has offered and soon Im going to walk over there and pick one up for a few jump's. Here is what Ive heard and seen about them. Edson Pancheco jumped one of the sub 100 canopies and he liked it a lot, he said it had a fast forward speed and dove pretty well. Timm Webb jumps a bigger one all the time, he gets decent swoops on it, but he isn't a hard core swooper so you cant see the potential. The one problem I can see from selling a canopy with a F111 bottom is the overall idea that F111=crappy canopy. Most skydivers associate the idea of any f111 on a canopy to mean that that canopy wont fly as good, so now to sell canopies you have to educate your market, and this is definnitly a hard thing to do. Im not really sure shy, but this year at nationals the skydive AZ Otters had 4 blade prop's and the skydive Chicago otter's had 3 blade and the Az otters were signifigantly quieter. No explanation that had merrit was heard though. I have always wondered the difference between a 3 blade prop and a 4 blade prop. I know with Boats you use a 4 blade prop for a faster holeshot, but with an airplane that doesn't make sence. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Dont have one, I just saw pictures of it, in a foreign skydive magazine and couldn't understand what it said. I was wondering if you had heard anything since you seem to be the one to ask about stuff like that. I hear that the pink skyvan is maintained very well, and they have a grade A operation, so I was wondering what happened. I dont think there was any fatalities but the one crash I saw pictures of was very ugly. They also happened in europe so my bet was maybe something to do with fuel quality or something. Funnies thing Ive seen: Im in the plane and two guy's, I take it kinda newbie, ask me how long should I give you. Me being the Smart ass I am say "Just wait until you see canopy" Then exit. I land forget all about it, then 5 minutes later they come in and let me know the pilot was rather upset at them for making him do another pass. Ive seen a bunch of test's from the deck at my dz. It is nothing but spectacular. They even hooked up a canopy backwards to simulate a line twist that was spinning you on your back, and it opened up perfect, (Well what I saw on the ground) but there was video shot. I would definitely go. I hooked it in good Christmas Eve 99. Im amazed I didn't kill myself as well as anyone that saw it happen, but anyway after a while in the hospital, and a few surgerie's I was almost better. Anyway im in the hospital, and my doctor is talking to another doctor about me and I can hear them dicussing my case. I hear I would love to see his MRI results, His reply I didn't see a need for them. Then silence. Jump forward a year later, I have a serious limp (That is better but still noticable today) I see my doctor for the 25th time, he says all femur accident's take this long to heal. Jump again another year of not being able to run and still limping, I go see another doctor he obtain's my medical record's and says a familiar thing, "I wonder why he never had an mri done before he put hardware in your leg, didn't you have insurance"? I did it was christmas eve and he was in a hurry, then didn't want to backpedel, now I know I have a detatched MCL 2 year's later and I no longer have nsurance to pay for the repair. My question was based on the civilian's that were living around the suspected factorie's. Im sure that the Coalition, bombed every suspected facility they had the oportunity to hit. This being, do you think that if there was chem/bio weapons stored inside, wouldn't there be a chance of them spreading to civilian living area's, and if this happened is there any reports of Civialian exposure do to Fallout. Here is something I was wondering. In gulf war version 1.0 all questionable chem/bio facilites were bombed into oblivion. With this happening was there any reports of anyone being affected ie: civilians ect, being exposed. Here is why: Ok assuming that a bomb in a weapon plant or storage facility wouldn't 100% eradicate the chemical's or virus, and with the potency of the said product's wouldn't the toxin's spread, killing hundred's or thousand's of civilian's or even military personnel? Wasn't there a large amount of facilities in residential area's? Just wondering, because if this is true, then there is a pretty strong case that maybe Iraq might not have the chemical/Biological weapons they are reported to have. Just a question? I sent my camera in, and after 2 week's at sony, I called and was told, My motherboard has problem's. They are installing a new one and then it has to be programmed. This is ok, but last time I sent it in for the same problem, they said it just needed to be cleaned and adjusted. This was done and it was sent back. Now its in for the second time in 6 month's. I wish they would have fixed it the first time, Now there is a ton of teams in town to film, and I have no camera Still when I get it back it will be almost new again. A senior Rigger can assemble gear and has the responsibility to determine compabatility. Reserve Slinks are TSO'd and therefore can be used on any rig, as long as they will work. For the same reason I COULD put a Mirage reserve PC in my Micron, and it be legal. Hook Are you sure? Unless your profile is wrong and your a Master rigger now. Even then I think you couldn't let someone else jump your rig with the Mirage pilot chute. But changing your reserve system is a Major modification. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

It's a lot harder and more expensive to release a product for a reserve than it is for a main. If you saw how much testing PD does on their product's you would be surprised, and that is just the stuff we see in Deland, they do a lot of testing elsewhere. And that isn't cheap. When did they rule THAT?? So there is no such thing as a private, because you receive flight time even wen you fly by yourself, let alone taking grandma for a spin. I just don't think so. No pay, or splitting the fuel, no commercial as far as I know. That flight time thing just doesn't make sense to me. No offense, Hook! For a long time pilots wanting hours towards their commercial license, used to work at Dz's for free. This is where the time=compensation rule came from. On another note we do a ton of beach jumps in Flagler from a private pilot's plane, and the only question he has been asked, and oh yeah they have asked, is "Your not getting paid for this are you" He just replied "Nope Im a skydiver and these are good friend's" And from what I believe the reason we can do the Beach jumps at the drop of a hat, is because there used to be a DZ at Flagler and they had a permit to drop on the beach, that is still open. Police showed up 2 times and when we asked they just said they thought it was cool and wanted to watch, and Oh yeah dont park your car in the grass or we will ticket you. I have relatively hardly any programs in my hd, and its almost full. I ran clonemaster to see how many duplicate programs and there was hundred's of them. It does a smart scan to see if they are truly duplicate and reccomend's which ones to erase. Im a little afraid to start erasing stuff, so Im wondering if anyone here has used it, and what your result's were. Thank's Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
