I can't exactly explain, because I actually don't know. Theoretically your correct, I think that maybe it has something to do with drift. They didnt exactly fall straight down, but it definitely wasn't a fast drift. Maybe someone like diverdriver could explain in real terms why we have longer /shorter seperation's, and why even with airspeed being airspeed, seperation's change. As a rigger student I was curious about what the test is. Don informed me he isn't allowed to tell me, but he did say that I could find some help on the Faa web site. So to all you people out there that are rigger wannabe's I thought I would share the site. http://av-info.faa.gov/data/knowledgetestguide/faa-g-8082-15.pdf Hope this help's. Oh yeah, The examiner cant tell you, but any other riggers if you want to share your test experience it would be appreciated. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

There is a guy in Deland (Patrick) that lost a bid on Ebay for a pc 100. He recieved an email from someone claiming to be the seller, and he was told he had a few of them, brand new, and for $700 he would send him one, all he had to do was send the money to him in yugoslavia and he would send him the camera. Of course he sent him the money and never heard from him again. And the police said since it was in another country they couldnt do anything. Dumb mistake lesson learned. Really good Pizza restaurant downtown, The indian restaurant, and that kick ass expensive Italian restaurant (Not pizza real italian food). Dont know the names of any of them, but they were all good food, but add a team from florida that lives off Atm cards and there is a problem, we had to send someone to walgreens, (yep no bank of America in that town) to get money each time. Ron if you read this do you maybe you can remamber the names of some of them. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

31:23 is the same code I got on my pc-5. It cost $275 to fix, cause sony has a one price fix all rate. You might be able to find someone else to fix it cheaper, but I reccomend the sony route, because they not only fix what is wrong, they replace high wear parts and do a total tune up and cleaning on your camera. When mine came back it had a new on off switch, new head, new screen and door. It looked almost like a new camera. Your not going to get it fixed much cheaper, and if you can afford it I would spend the extra buck's. Edited to add. What kind of camera do you have? I also had a pc1 and I got this message whenever I had a moisture problem, you might want to dry your camera out a little before you send it in. Does it do it without a tape in it?. I looked at the aerodyne smart reserve at the PIA, and it looked like a good reserve, I also talked to their rep for a while about what made it so good. But the one issue I have is they use type 3 tape as a line attatchment. That is the same tape that made precision recall their reserves. When I asked him about that, he told me that they are using a different bartack that doesn't weaken the tape. Mike Truffer from skydive magazine did a few pull tests on the tape, and the tape broke not just the attatchment. This is in an issue of Skydiving from a few months back. This said, the canopy is tso'd so it has proven itself in that manner. But I wouldn't reccomend wing loading it a lot. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I think it should work the other way around, people sentenced to Life should donate the one kidney, and whatever else they can without killing them, And people sentenced to death should be forced to return their debt to society by donating their organs. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Well uh, I actually agree with bill. Im larning to be a rigger and yesterday I was thrown a loop. My instructo says "Hey enough Vector3's you need to pack a lot of different rigs, here's one for ya" And throws me a Reflex. After reading this series of posts Im a little worried, turns out the reflex is one of the more easier rigs to pack. Closing them is easy as hell. There was an issue with the manual, it isnt as descriptive as it should be, but I would rather close a Reflex than a Mirage, Javelin and yes even a vector. But would I jump one with a Catapult? That is another story. But then again the catapult is an option. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I talked to BillBooth about it, at the PIA and he told me that the early design of the skyhook would need a new tso, because they made the bridle 2 pieces, but since the bridle is all one piece now and the way the bridle is attatched to the skyhook, it falls under the tso that the vector reserve deployment system uses. That is why there are rigs being fitted with skyhooks right now. I've only heard of student rigs being outfitted so far, I think it has something to do with how big a student canopy is. If you have any questions Im sure Bill will answer them. But that is what I understood when I talked to him about it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

What kind of canopy did you order? If it was a PD they offer slinks at no additional charge, you might want to call them before they ship it to change your order to whatever you choose to buy. Oh yeah personally I prefer the Slinks marginally well over metal links, Skydive Magazine did a pull test on them and they were marginally stronger. And they wont break from being overtightened, undertightened. But you can install them wrong, I watched a guy 2 weeks ago install them wrong, being the nice guy I am I let him install all 4 before I told him, I thought he would realise and I didnt want to put him on the spot. Question? Can you sell a tso'd reserve with a link system that is only tso'c ? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
-
***Absolutely, but I bet it'll be a pain to get it cross-certified for anything but RWS rigs. Actually the skyhook will be easy to put on other rig's, its all a licensing issue, The skyhook doesn't modify the deployment system, thus the no need for a new tso on it. The original design required the bridle to be cut to install it, this violated the tso, the new one doesn't change the original reserve system the bridle stays intact. Someone mentioned that if you spin a weight on a rope and let go it fly's away, true, but if you cut away from a spinning main it wont stop you from doing a back/front flip as your reserve is deploying, this can cause a tangle, or a flip through your risers while deploying. The skyhook theory is to deploy your reserve before you can flip, from the pictures Ive seen so far it seem's to work great. Go to www.relativeworkshop.com I also whitnessed a test jumper with his canopy hooked up backwards do a skyhook cutaway, while spinning, to simulate an on your back deployment and that went fine also. That said even after whitnessing it first hand, as a videographer, I still think I will wait a while until I use it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

People who dont learn from history, are doomed to repeat it. Just as we let Hitler build up a military and stood by idly, we cannot afford to do this again. With someone such as Saddam who has repetedly commited crimes against humanity, we just cant sit by and let him build chemical, Biological weapons. He has demonstraited he isnt afraid to use them against his own people. So he will not be afraid to turn them against anyone else. I'm not 100% sure war is the answer yet, but diplomacy is failing fast. The one question everyone has to ask themselves is would I give, or even risk MY OWN LIFE for this? I for one don't think I would enlist, so thus my opinion doesn't have much merrit. I would like to hear from some enlisted people on the subject of the possible war. I know this doens't have anything to do with the French but this subject has changed a lot. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

2001 Pond Swooping Nationals Video
Rdutch replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
***>I just finished watching the 2001 Pond Swooping Nationals video and I have to say not only was there some neat and gnarly stuff going in the video, but some downright dangerous stuff as well. There seemed to be more crashes than sweet swoops and I'd like to know whether or not the crashes were the norm for most of the swoops or were the producers just sensationalizing the event. Just to say " I started Pond swooping Me! Back in 87, I was just sitting there and thought, hey lets go swoop the pond, all of this is because of me." Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! -
How Many Crossbraced Canopies at your DZ?
Rdutch replied to Skydive2's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I see whole days where nothing is being jumped at my dz but cross braced canopie's. And there is definitely a lot of load's almost every day that there is nothing but a crossbraced canopy landing. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! -
***Are you seriously agreeing with the sudden, increase in prices? I don't agree or disagree; I really don't care much. The high price of solar-PV bothers me more than the high price of gas - should I sue PV manufacturers? >The American consumer, still has a right to not be ripped off. Uh, no he doesn't. You have every right to spend $50,000 on an unsafe SUV with a too-high CG for driving around the streets of LA. You have every right to buy $50 bottles of wine, $4000 watches and $500 polyester suits. If the thing you're buying gets scarce, why, they just raise the price - try buying an acre of land in coastal San Diego.Quote You are talking about luxury item's. You dont need a $50 bottle of wine or a $4000 watch to get your kid's to school, get you to work or light your house. Also not everyone can afford a SUV there is a lot of people who drive economy cars (like me 4 cyl) to save cost on gas. Im not the only one who think's this way watch the news. Editied to add: From the washington Post quotes "Pump prices have risen along with higher crude oil costs, but some groups believe that fuel prices have risen higher than can be justified, setting off demands for an investigation by Federal Trade Commission. " "Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York on Sunday accused oil companies of gouging consumers at the pump, arguing that gasoline prices have risen faster than crude costs. The lawmaker asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the matter. " "The American Automobile Association said last week that the huge jump in pump prices was not justified and the group also wanted the government to investigate rising gasoline prices. " Something to think about? " Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

*** Those price laws you refer to for regulated entities that are, in effect, in a monopolizing position (e.g. Phone companies, Cable companies, Power Utilities, etc.). Quote You forgot GAS COMPANIES! They are very much a monopoly. Believe it or not we are very much at the mercy of them, and they could actually charge $5 a gallon and it would sell. People would go broke, companies would go out of business, but people would have to pay it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Are you seriously agreeing with the sudden, increase in prices? The American consumer, still has a right to not be ripped off. That is why there were laws implemented to prevent price gouging, especially at a National level. Example, after hurricane Andrew people sold generators and water at extremely inflated rates. Cause people would pay it and demand was high. Those people suffered drastic legal repercussions in return. Also your suggestion to use an alternative to gas is very unrealistic. Do you think most people can just go out and buy a hybrid car? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Finally someone out there is thinking right. Big Oil is raping the American public as well as the World with the price gouging that has been going on. Finally there is an investigation. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A31006-2003Feb19.html Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Here is a little tip, I have posted about 50 time's. wear you r camera around the house. Record stuff while looking at it and say what you were looking at just to know where you were looking at. Like Tv, Fan, Doorknob. Then look at your video, you will be surprised at the different levels you look at and the results you get. After a while yo uwill dial it in and all it will cost you is time, instead of jumps. You might notice a tendency to move your eyes when you film above you, just like you will on exit. That is something to work on. Well good luck Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
