I spent three hours sitting at the end of the runway at Aviano in September. The public road runs right down the fence line at the end of the runway, and all the locals come out and sit there, watching the USAF jets. It's pretty freakin' awesome. I spent a week skydiving with the US Air force, we took off every morning from Luke AFB in Pheonix Az. It was fucking awesome sitting in line with 20 f16's waiting to take off. Sitting in a Twinn otter that is shaking from the rumble of the f16 engines. Then we got a couple fly by's in flight on the way to the dz. Looking out the window as a flighter buzzes you rock's. I read yesterday, that the us only relies on the middle east for 11% of their oil import's. So if this is true, then I think the Gas companies are very guilty of price gouging. There definitely needs to be an investigation. And heafty fine's ect. need to be implemented when they Prove this to be true. One way the american public can help, is to look around before you buy gas. It drives me crazy to see three gas stations on the same intersection, and one of them have gas for 7 or 8 cents more, and people are using that gas station. As long as we let gas companies Rape us they will. If no one went to the more expensive gas station, they would be forced to lower their prices. But as long as we keep using the more expensive gas station's, then the other's will raise their prices also, it is a domino effect, and we can do a lot to change it. Anyone that is using an expensive gas station, when the station next to it has cheaper gas should be beaten immediately. I also cant understand how american's will drive around for a cheaper hamburger, but will buy the first gas they see. Also ever try and buy gas near a highway? That is flat out robbery, how they raise the price, as consumer's we deserve to be treated fair. We can change thing's but it will take an effort from everyone to do it. Tom Cruise, and Nicole Kidman, Oh yeah and her parent's. The went to skydive Deland and learned to skydive from Bob Hallett. They were filming days of thunder, and just showed up. There is stories in Deland cause they called it days of food, because Tom was so happy he sent the catering there, lobster and shrimp, steak for everyone. Damm, being a Huge Magic fan, I have been heartbroken to see a team that had such promice this year, with a healthy Grant Hill, and Tracy Mcgrady. Now with Mr. Hill again injured and the trades they did to get hill ect. dominating this season (Ben Wallace, Troy Hudson). Now they traded one of their best player's, Mike Miller. Very bad decision, he was a fan favorite, and they have all the players they need, they just dont use them. they have 2, 7 foot player's that are young so they dont get any time, but with a team that has rebound problems this would be a good idea. Now they traded their best player's (Tracy mcgrady) best friend. I wonder how that might effect thing's. Sorry had to vent to someone and its too late to call my friends that are fan's. I have a messed up PC-5 it works most of the time but it gets a moisture alert and shuts down whenever it feels like it. I did a search online and I found that a lot of people with pc-5's have this problem. Anyone else out there with a pc-5 have this problem? Or any similar problem's, Just looking for something to tell sony if they have a defective product. I also sent it in once, and since it only happens when it want's to they found nothing wrong. Oh yeah funny thing is, I cant play any of my older tapes on it, but I can on any other camera EXCEPT on pc-5 camera's, when I put my tape in another pc-5 that camera all of a sudden gets the same problem as long as my tape is in it, old or new tape. I read on a web site for a vectran manufacturer, and they were defending the line for use for archery, and other application's. And the one thing they said was vectran had had a potential of drying out, this meaning the wax that they coated the lines with, deteriorated with use, Also they mentioned retreating the lines with this wax substantially increased the life of the line. I can't remember the web site, but I would love to find out the company, so I could contact them and get a supply of the wax. I just got a reline on my velocity, and it is a huge difference with the new lines, and when the lines do dry out, my slider likes to hang a lot more, just like Dacron. Question, are the Parachutes de france legal to jump in this country for resident's? I also noticed at the PIA that the new aerodyne reserve uses the same tape as the Precision reserve that had all the problem's. I asked one of their representatives about it and he said their bartak was different, but that made little sence, I remember Skydiving Magazine actually tested the type 1 and type 3 tapes and found that even with the double bartack it made little difference, so why would they use a configuration that is reported to be questionable, anything you know would be helpfull. National's in Arizona everyone on my team but me got stopped. Can you believe the road to the dz is in the middle of nowhere, but has a 25mph speed limit. And the cops sit behing big cotton piles, sad thing is we were following about 15 cars and we were the last in line. Luckily one of my teammates (Glen Melendez) was a police officer from florida, so they let us go. Funniest thing was Glen was driving, and I had long hair, earring's and a goatee, and they were stopping suspected drug runner's and thought cause he was cuban that he looked suspicios and stopped us, it turned out funny when he showed his badge, he never stopped blaming me. Funny thing is all the skydiving cameo's in it. See bill Boothe and his family in displaying a vector3. There is a lot more, in fact the movie is all one big commercial. Also if you jump around in Florida you will see that they take off in Miami, the dz is Clewiston and they land on Flagler beach right next to Norman Kent's house. Not bad for a first jump. ALso Bill bookman flew the skyvan for all the actual flying, but you never see him in the movie flying the plane. Want to see an even more messed up representation of skydiving watch Dropzone, everytime you see someone in freefall looking at the camera, they dont have riser's on their rig's. I have never used any kind of slider stowe, until I went straight to my rigger and had him sew "stoppers" onto my front risers right by the three rings. After collapsing I pull the slider behind my hear and it's locked down without having to do anything else. Just pull it down and it stays down behind the head. The tabs he made were essentially doubled over webbing sewn lengthwise on the slider, with only the top side tacked on, so the grommets easily slide down over them, but not up against them (takes a very, very small effort to get slider back over them once on the ground). Please give this a thought. I also have that design and works great, but I have a side mounted camera and a ringsite, that likes to catch the slider when I look around. So I have the Ball design also, which holds my slider out of the way better. The initial design that this post is about is actually better, because it would allow your slider to come free easier in a cutaway than breaking a rubber band, but they all use minimal force to remove. Relative Workshop estimates that a reserve pc pulls about 100lbs, the skyhook tests show that a cutaway canopy pulls harder and faster than a reserve pc, so the question is will a cutaway canopy, especially a previously inflated canopy with probably line twists, pull hard enough to break a rubber band, or unstow a slider fashioned with the loop design. I fashioned a loop today and tried it out by placing my slider in it and pulled it out with minimal effort. Having not jumped it yet, the only problem I could see is, it came out so easy I dont think it will work good enough to hold my slider down. All I use is sony tape's. I also bought a head cleaner tape. And I dont rerecord, I always use clean tape. Ive heard about fast forwarding my tapes and rewinding them before using them, but I thought what I heard was, that the pressure sensor on the head was extra sensitive, and running your tape forward and back tightens it up a little. None of this work's. And the camera only messes up in the plane or usually just when I climb out, I think that's why sony couldn't find a problem with it, it works great on the ground. HELP! My pc-5 has a problem, It works great on the ground but in the air it shuts off 50% of the time. It will work good for a week straight, and then all of a sudden it starts getting Moisture alert's and shuts down. It only happens when there is a tape in it and its recording, or playing. Also when it does work I can induce the alert by playing and scanning backwords. I think there is a bad sensor or maybe something that is making it read moisture. Ive put the camera in a bag with Silica to make sure there is no moisture and it still does it. I also took the whole camera apart, to check for moisture, and some of the connectors were dirty, I was wondering if it would be ok to use Quick Drying Electrical Cleaner on the camera? would this hurt the head? Or maybe blow the camera out with canned air from the camera shop? Any Ideas on how I can fix the problem without sending it to SONY and spending another $275 fixing it. I sent it in once and they said there wasnt anything wrong with it, and just cleaned it. Any idea's will be much appreciated. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I have the same system as Shannon on one of my rig's. On the slider there is a little tab sewn into it to attatch a rubber band. when you Open you pull your slider down and attatch the rubber band onto the little ball, attatched to your rig. Theory is, a rubber band will break and actually doesn't hold onto the ball totally, the rubber band is bigger than the ball and is held on to it by force. In a cutaway it will place slack onto the ball and release, or just break. I like this system, and would have it on both rigs but Im too lazy to put it on, for now. Jump off? lol Dave Im just kidding. I for one think that a camera(person) is a huge part of the team. Team practice is also camera practice, and a slip in performance or Lack of ability, can cost a team hugely. Trust me I know. There is a lot more to being a teammate than just showing up and shooting video. Heck you would have to have a commitment to the team to put up with Ron for a whole year. Or vice versa. Another note, I talked to Ditta from the Norgie girls and she told me that the rule for a Male videographer was for this year, but next year they have to find a Norwegan Female Videographer.
