***Sunpath had a rig that was decorated as a Jaguar...all fur with a big cat head on the main flap...fully functional!!!reply]Quote Ever go to Relative Workshop? They have a rig that cost around $10,000 to make, it was made out of Mink (Sorry animal activists) about 7 years ago, for an issue of Playboy Magazine. The centerfold wore it. I want to jump it for you 5000th Jump. Im off to the symposium in about an hour. bye Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

OK after reading about Kevin's misrouted bridle, I just wanted to talk about something that happened to me this weekend. I let a someone borrow my rig, the canopy was too small for him so he put a bigger one in my container, and after he finished jumping re-assembled it. We were talking about the new lines on my canopy and I disagreed, so we opened the container, to see who was right or wrong. when I pulled the PC it wasnt cocked. So even thing's like Pilot chutes should be checked if someone that your not used to packing for you, or isnt familiar with your rig packs it. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I don't like their landings as much as I like my Safire's landing because the standard PD flare ends too early. I can slow down my Safire 119 a bit more than I could slow down the Sabre 135; there's a little more bottom end flare range on the Safire. On the PD, once you get the toggles to about shoulder level, that's it. Quote Im not saying you are wrong or right, but I never have to Run out my landing's on the Saber2 the stilletto, or My Velocity. I also watch Pd test jumpers all day and they land their canopies great. Maybe you land your safire with it slowing down a lot more, because that is the canopy you jump all the time. Canopies are all different, and do need to be dialed in to perfect them. I jumped a Safire myself and I found just the same conclusion on it, I didn't like it at all, but I only put about 15 jumps on it. Apples and Oranges. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Funny I saw that episode and met the guy. He made a funny comment after when they asked him what happened he said "Black people shouldnt skydive". Oh yeah he was black. I met him in Deland about 6 months ago and he had over 200 jumps so I guess he proved himself wrong. I think it all happened in Zhills, but Im not sure. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I thought that was what you were talking about. That is a real expensive way to buy a canopy, the Hma conversion isn't cheap, and the jury is still out on the HMA line. I know a PD factory pilot that had the HMA and changed back to Vectran. But I think the reason was that HMA doesnt like cascades and the super thin lineset he was using had to be changed about every 100 jumps. Unless your competing hardcore I dont think it is worth the money. Ever ask anyone from Icarus why they dont use HMA? I would like to know what they say. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

You could probably demo an icarus at some of the bigger boogie's. They had a demo stand at nationals this year and I talked to the rep, he said he was touring boogies with demo's. What is the x-vx mod? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I consider myself a proficient swooper. And I have about 1200 jumps on stilletto's and velocities. I love the saber2. If there was no Velocity out there, I would jump a saber2 over a stilletto. I put some jumps on a saber2 107 and a 97 and got excellent swoop's. But I want a little more out of my canopy so I jump a velocity. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

I talked to Kevin from Bird-man just yesterday, and we discussed any difference between Skyflyer deployment and classic, ect. He said he teaches and reccomend's deploying in full flight after waving off. I also have never seen anyone keep their legs closed during deployment, and I have seen a few well know'n bird-man pilots deploy. Either way if that is how you choose to deploy, and it works for you then by no means change it. But I think that the web site might be misleading. Ie: when you deploy you close your legs and arms, because if you just closed your arms with your legs open it would put you in a downward dive. I think they forgot to mention to open them back up after. Also to point if you had your legs closed and just opened your arm's it would effect your flight also. Pilot chute hesitation with a Birdman is normal, 2-3 seconds more), I have had it happen a few times and I have around 75 birdman jumps. Collapsing your wings fully is just to allow an even deployment, your recomended to fly normally during deployment to allow air to pass over your back and inflate your chute. Relative Workshop also has a new student rig on the market. V3 Student, pretty much has the same options as the mirage. Both are good I asume. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Some of them do at least, I have seen reserves popped at my dz a week after the pond swooping nationals that were soaking wet, and I know another person who's rig stinks like hell cause he only repacs every pack cycle, been wet or not. Crazy. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Americans wager more $$$ on the Super Bowl, then Honduras' GNP!

I was trying to find the point spread online, and there is a report that someone bet 17 Million on the Buc's. All in one bet, that is crazy, but I bet he is happy today. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! -
A good friend of mine and DZ owner, told me a story about him and a friend that were traveling together for a big way. His friend chose to wear his rig on the plane (like a backpack), while in line to board The little old lady behind him taped him on the shoulder and asked him "Excuse me, is that a parachute you have)? He replied "Yes". She then asked "Why do you have a Parachute)? he replied "They didnt give you yours yet". Aparently the lady freaked out and started walking to the Desk, he couldnt stop her in time and a scene erupted. Turns out she had never flown before and was nervous as hell already. Would have been funny to see. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

Dive blocks are ok if your wearing gloves, but the riser pressure on smaller velocities ect. especially at the end of your turn gets to be hard with blocks, when your not wearing gloves. I have loop's and I had them modified with a stiffener in them so they always are open, Ive also seen them made with a twist in them and that keeps them open pretty good also. Thankyou someone to back me up. I jump a velocity 96 and a stilletto 107, and I had a xaos 99 for about 75 jumps. I put the 99 on top of the 96 and it was considerably larger, so I put it on top of the 107 and it was larger. I dont know how to measure square foot on canopies so it, looks like the 99 xaos is bigger than my stilletto 107. The Xaos flew smaler than the 107 but a lot bigger than my 96. I "Think" square foot is also measured by vertical size also. When I asked around I was told that, some manufacturer's measure the top of the canopy, and some measure the bottom. and the top is considerably bigger than the top. Well Im sure Im going to hear about this post so let me know what you know. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

***Do you mean the attachment to the canopy (i.e. at the line attachment point)? As opposed to the attachment to the toggle? Or the line cascade? Can you clarify? I'd be curious to hear the reasoning on this, too. Thanks, The attatchment to the Canopy. Sorry, the attatchment to the toggle doesnt usually use a larkshead, (Just found out that word today). The Owner of the canopy called the company and they said "dont worry" I'm sure its not a problem at all, but when I noticed it, a person that works for a canopy manufacturer saw it also and was curious also as why they did that. Then I talked to someone that tested attatchments, and the result is, "when pull tested the larkshead attatchment holds a lot more force", But Im not a rigger or manufacturer, and I dont know how much force brake lines sustain (If any). Im just wondering why they do it this way. Just a question, not trying to start anything, Im just wondering, nothing more nothing less. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
