    Too funny

Anyone but me notice that Skydiving isn't available on the spellcheck of Dropzone.com? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  3. Ron's written a few articles for the NSL site, and for the skydiving publications. Still cant figure that out, how someone that spells that bad can get an article published. And yes he does owe beer! Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  4. Lucky for me Im on load 1 in the morning, Not looking forward to that. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  5. That is actually my design (well to me at least.) Im not saying anyone else might not have thought of it. But 2 years ago I was packing for a teammate and he had a zp bag, it was extremely easy to put the oversized canopy into the bag, so I asked Niklas from Relative why they didn't make bag's out of zp anymore. He informed me that they dont last long enough, so I was in the process of getting a new rig, so I asked Niklas (My teammate) if I could get a bag made for me with a Zp liner. I am glad to say that it work's great. Feedback from everyone that packed my rig (and it had a canopy that was too big for it) said it made a huge difference. It was originally thought that it wouldnt last that long but I have put 250 jumps on it and it is still in excellent condition. As of now I dont think that anyone is offering this mod, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Also it has to be done when the bag is made. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  6. Damm, I forgot you were on those jump's, If I knew I would have sent you a copy. I also have a bunch of other stills that came out good from those jumps. Oh yeah I have other pictures published in Skydive Magazine, so its not Beer. Maybe if it wasn't a black and white back of magazine shot. Hey but I do get a free T-shirt now. I think it reads "I got my picture in Skydive Magazine and all I got was this lousy T-shirt. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  7. Cool im looking through Skydive magazine, and in the very back there is a picture I took of Majic load organizing a big way. Not my first picture published but one of the best. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  8. In the US No. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  9. Hey kevin, I know you like the birdman, If your thinking of doing a smoke jump with a birdman suit, you should talk to someone with a lot of experience before doing it. Jari from Birdman would be a good place to start. Adding a smoke canister to your leg, and the way a canopy deploys with a birdman suit, is a bad combination. But it does look cool! 10. I just got my roll of film back from wallgreen's, and I bought the picture disk. Every picture is way too big. How can I shrink them? With my skydiving pic's I usually use windows picture view and the edit function. Then adjust the sketch/skew. Put if the camera was vertical when the picture was taken it messes it up. Anyone know an easy way to shrink your pictures? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  11. Anyone know the story about the guy AJ that tried to burn 50 gallons of jet A in Zhills? Is that a true story or urban Legend? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  12. The Patrick video, is a sector sports advertisement video. Im sure you could do a search online and find it. Look for Patrick de gayardon. The Lee Werling video, im sorry to say would be real hard to find. I will ask Fabian and Julianna when I see them if they have a copy. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  13. Ha ha, yes right now. Cnat believe I have it on. I own the movie and never watch it. Funny how a whole plane full of jumpers doesnt have canopies in their rig's (count the Rings) Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!

  15. I have owned the Kenko and the Raynox, I think the Kenko is a far better lens. When purchasing a lens for skydiving, cheaper is definitely not better. If you want to spend a little more, the Diamond lens offered by Max Cohn is one of the best I have seen. The all glass design makes it hard for it to fog up. And the low profile makes it hard for it to catch a riser on opening. I also think that Max is offering .05 and .06 lenses now also. The only drawback to the lens is its hard to put a filter on it, and shooting bellyflying is hard on a len's (Specially 4 way). Sand and stuff coming off of the jumpers will play hell on a lens in no time. I bought a filter a little bigger than the len's and gaffer taped it on, not pretty but it work's. 16. Oh yeah, also there is a real cool Patrik video of him in an airplane wind tunnel in a harness, testing his wing suit design. That would be a better way to refine your position, but Im sure it would be expensive. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  17. The guy that flew the suit in the wind tunnel was Lee Werling. There is video of it. Lee told me that he also flew the suit with Fabian from deland holding his head and steering him in circles. He had some idea's on Fabian flying head down in the tunnel holding his head and carving around, I dont know if he had the oportunity to do it, but it sounded cool. But you wouldn't be able to get maximum lift in the tunnel as it is generated by forward speed. Speed=lift Im not a physic's major so someone that is can explain better. The suit actually generates lift like a wing and the forward speed generates the lift, so in a tunnel with only vertical air and no where to go you couln't get the optimal lift. Even tying yourself up and flying in the tunnel wouldnt help, you would only gain lift from the extra area, kind of like a camera suit. But it would be fun anyway. 19. It is a little harder to adjust the still camera up or down, so when you mount your video camera you need to mount it to the same angle as the top of your hawkeye. As to mounting your site, I like the articulated site mount that pier ltd sell's. It allow's you to move your site out of your vision. So you dont have it in front of your face under canopy. And I believe that hawkeye has mark's on it for mounting that site. When you do site your ringsite in, you will need some help, and I like to zoom my camera in so you get a better look at exactly where the center is. Look at something and have your helper look through your camera, move your site until both of you are loking at the same thing. Oh yeah you should place your site about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch away from your face. Also when you drill through your helmet, you will need to coat the hole's with clear nail polish after, carbon fiber is real bad on electronic's (The military has bombs filled with carbon fiber they use to destroy enemy electronic's) There is many way's to mount your still camera, I use industreal velcro and a mounting screw, Norman Kent mentioned how he didn't like my quick release, as It was a potential line snag point, but then again so is a ringsite. The velcro holds my camera straight, and the screw holds the camera to my helmet, but Im sure someone will mention a better way to mount your still camera. Once you have your camera mounted and your site installed, a great way to get used to your set up, is to put your camera on at home and record stuff, look at the tv and the Fan and the Door ect, and record it where you think center is, then look at the tape and see what you really were looking at. Its a little hard to center thing's when you have to look up. Most people use their eyes too much in the beginning, but with a little practice youll do fine. Hope this help's. Oh yeah be prepared to burn a lot of film when you first start shooting still's. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  20. I didn't see the actual equipment. It was in Italy. The guy's name was Magoo, I believe he was a teammate with Ippo or just a good friend. But I have seen this simulated and it does happen. I am not saying that Mirage's are bad rig's It is just some information I came across. Unisyn could easily deny this and explain what happened, and why It's wrong/right information. Question? is it wrong to let people know about a potential problem that could hurt/kill them? Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  21. Misleading or not? It wasn't intentional to mislead anyone, I was just expressing something I have heard about many time's. Feel free to disagree with my post but I ask that if you do, to back up your disagreement. I dont work for mirage, and I dont know your reasoning's, but I think the skydiving community, especially Mirage owner's with the older housing's should know if their is a potential problem with their gear. And if their isn't a problem then here is where you can set the record straight on what happened. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  22. One question about Mirage, There is a huge question on the integrity of the company. I dont know if this has been addressed yet, but the (Older) cutaway housing's had a flaw. Big enough for Mirage to change the design, but there is still a lot of rig's out there with the old design. There was a fatality in europe a while back, and it was reported, that the housing was the cause. Test's were planned but Mirage cancelled them. If there is any question true or false, why didn't they do the test? If anything they could have proven the housings weren't bad. Also if the housing's arent Flawed then why the design change? Here is the Flaw: The old Mirage cutaway housing's are cast, then they are drilled. This creates a 90 Degree angle on the hole, and then a sharp edge. This can catch and even cut into, your soft plastic cover on your cutaway cable, and make it impossible to cutaway. The jumper that died in Europe, turned his cutaway pillow inside out, trying to cutaway. The housing's are MIl spec (also questionable) but that specification was designed and tested with 380+ square foot canopies. Not for the High wingloading that jumpers of today are using. So the question is, do you want to jump a rig from a manufacturer, that has a potential problem with their system, and fails to address it. At least Precision addressed their problem, and let everyone know that for a fee they will fix their flawed design. Also on another previous post, someone stated that they wanted a mirage reserve pilot chute, because their Vector chute wasn't as strong. Relative Workshop and Mirage both use the same exact spring on their reserve pilot chute. So doing this would do nothing. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  23. Vector3 Micron's velocity 90/96 Stilletto 107 Pd 113/126 reserve's but would rather have 2 126'2 Flew both landed great but just in case bigger is better with a reserve. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  24. Hey Ron not arguing with you, but I do remember when our team trained in Zhill's we did have a problem getting a pilot to make another pass, when the groups exiting before took a long time to exit, and we were miles away from the dz. So this work's as long as your pilot doesn't mind making another pass. Also that day a LOT of people landed out and it was mostly the solo freeflyers that got a good spot, and the larger flat groups landed out. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
  25. Hey Andi, I really want to go to the symposium, there is a lot of new stuff I want to see. Rumor has it that Relative Workshop has some cool toys they are going to display, and I cant wait to see them. Also with the new canopies from all the companies I would love to see what the future of skydiving has in store. So if your going lemmie know so I can sneak in your Van for a ride.
