  4. Thank-you for doing this....I was worried about the hurricane messing up the examiners course too and tried to call RW to get info about it and found that they wwere closed so I was flying blind. I'm still planning on attending and I'm sceduled to fly on sunday but may end up changing it to monday also. Please PM me with the results of the conversation. Again thanks for any updates and info
  5. The gear is not stolen....It was at a pawn shop and they contacted me the other day and wanted me to look at the gear and tell them all about it so they could answer the peoples questions about it. What it ended up being was this rig was pawned several times in the past and the owner always came back and picked it back up, however this last time he pawned it he didn't return and the time limit ran out. He ended up going to jail and wasn't able to repay the loan the pawn shop made. They had no idea what it was worth and when they brought it me I check it over and checked out the story with the previous owners friends and verified the story. So if anyone wants to bid on this rig it is in perfect condition and you can buy it with confidence that it is definitly not stolen.
  6. I am getting my BBA(business degree) on-line thru U-of Phoenix.....it is far from easy and the cost per credit hour is the same but I'm learning ALOT and it definitely is not a bought degree....It is earned!!!!I haven't had too much trouble but there is alot of self teaching and figuring things out on your own but I can can always call or go by a satellite office and get advice so I makes things pretty easy and convenient.....and only 6 more credit hours and I'm done.......Yeah!!! a 4 year degree for me in the bag!!!!
  7. I'll meet you out there....I'm also signed up to get my Vector Examiners rating.....I'm getting there the 5th. Blue Skies Kelly

  9. Look in the Poynters manuals vol 1, it is your best source to see what components are compatible with each other....they are usually list by part or manufactures numbers. PM if you want and I may be able to help you look up what you need.
  10. Well I don't know how many of the people who have posted here actually knew Tippy but that dog was very much a part of the DZ....Tippy would be the first one at the DZ in the morning and would hang out all day rain or shine......Everyone at the DZ knew Tippy and everyone loved Tippy. It's been a couple years since I've been to Archway but I know the next time I visit will be strange knowing Tippy is gone......blue Skies Tippy Kelly
  11. Myself and NoShitThereIWas are definitly gonna be there......For me it looks like Monday thru Friday...Not sure about her plans yet. Looking foreward to some decent skydives and even better parties

  14. Hey all...I just had a cool thought for a throw together 4-way team at nationals this year....a DZ.Com team....This is my thoughts of who I'd like to have on it....2 DZ. com Guys and 2 DZ.com Gals...I would like at least one of the team members to be their first time at a nationals(This wouldn't be my first so the other guy or one of the two gals would have to meet this requirement). We would also need a DZ.Commer to video as part of the team also. I thought we could all meet at Perris on Oct 2nd....Practice the 2nd and 3rd....then Competition is Oct 4th thru the 7th......This would be for total fun only....No ego's or negativity would be allowed.......Anyone Truly interested(can actually 100%..no excuses later.. commit) Please PM me....this is a serious inquiry and only want people 100% interested to reply.
  15. I have one and if you PM a fax # I will send it tomorrow .
  16. I work out at least 3 days a week....2.5 hours each workout(we have a gym and a set workout time at the firehouse) I do 3-4 miles on the treadmill then hit the weights. 1 day is arms and abs the next is shoulders and back and the last day is legs and whatever hurts the least......staying fit does prevent injury and makes it easier to do the old job.

  18. Hey Gary....just my 2 cents worth but I always 100% of the time wear a frap hat for tandems if not for any other reason but for those huge risers coming 'SLAPPING OPEN" JUST INCHES FROM MY EARS....after 32 years I've grown quite attached to them. I usually don't put helmets on the students(especially hard helmets just for the reason you are describing) unless it is cold and then only a frap hat. I do try to keep my head to one side only in freefall and for landing and for me it is to the students right side. This has prevented me from any head or mouth strikes in exit, freefall or landing in my almost 900 tandems.......This is only the way that I do things and one piece of advise for all TI's reading this thread.......none of us were there or experiencing what that TI was going thru at the time so lets not try to JUDGE him( I know very hard thing for some of the arm chair quarterbacks in here) but just give our experiences and let him draw what he can from that.
  19. I had bone taken from my hip and put into my wrist and after surgery I thought NO WAY will that ever happen again. The surgery on the broken wrist felt like a tickle compared to the pain of the hip after they were thru chiseling the bone off the hip. Donor bone is the only way to go. Surgery is bad enough without having to add another incision and the pain of having bone hammered off the hip. I would seriously never left them take bone off my hip again. Just remember the phrase "Donor Bone".
  20. My Favorite line to use is when students ask me what the grippers are for on the jumps suits....My response is that they are called paramedic handles, because things go really wrong the paramedics can pick us up easily without having to get their hnds in the mess
  21. I've got alittle over 800 tamdems and I'll do front or backflips with the students if they request it. The type of plane we are jumping dictates whether it is a front or back flip. Tailgates are back flips and most other aircraft are front flips.
  22. Damn...between this and the crazy test I'm a F***ing mess....but this just proves just how wrong these tests are cuz I know I'm an The wretched King Minos has decided your fate. His tale wraps around his body 6 times. The sweet light no longer strikes against your eyes. Your shade has been banished to... the Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis! Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You approach Satan's wretched city where you behold a wide plain surrounded by iron walls. Before you are fields full of distress and torment terrible. Burning tombs are littered about the landscape. Inside these flaming sepulchers suffer the heretics, failing to believe in God and the afterlife, who make themselves audible by doleful sighs. You will join the wicked that lie here, and will be offered no respite. The three infernal Furies stained with blood, with limbs of women and hair of serpents, dwell in this circle of Hell.
  23. Geez with my results you'd think I would have ended up in prison..... Paranoid: Low Schizoid: High Schizotypal: Low Antisocial: High Borderline: Low Histrionic: Moderate Narcissistic: High Avoidant: Low Dependent: Low Obsessive-Compulsive: Low
  24. Statistics show that the most dangerous time for a skydiver is between 200 and 500 jumps. It was jump 497 for me....HOOK and BANG....broken femur. What really pissed me off is 3 more jumps and I've had statistically made it out of the injury zone...But I guess some of us are just are just destined to live by the motto...."Bones heal, Chicks dig scars, pain is temporary but GLORY lasts forever"
