I always suspected this but now I know the truth...lol Kitty lovers beware http://www.elfrigo.org/flash/chowmein.htm

well I have about 3500 jumps and probly about 2000 have been on Sabres and Sabre2s....My first canopy was a Sabre 150 and I downsized to a 135 then 107 and now a Sabre2--97. I have been whacked a few times on the 150 and 107 but the 135 and 97 have never opened hard. The hardest openings I ever had were a Batwing 116 and Velocity 90. This has just been my experiences but I can not say anything bad at all about Sabres. I think most canopies are indivuals like people are....some are great and others are just royal pains.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Killian's Red...it's the best beer in a bottle and for beer on tap there's nothing that beats a Guinness.

1974 Chevy Nova SS 250 straight 6 manual choke and manual drum breaks. Hard to get started and even harder to stop once it got going. Bright Red with a black stipe down the side. Oh yeah...and the all time classic part...Came with a radio with an 8 track player.

one big trick that makes them easy to pack is to get a set of removeable handle bodkins from Sunshine factory.....they are the greatest thing since sliced bread when it comes to packing a racer.

I don't mark up the reflex or racer....I agree they are alittle more of a pain to close they aren't that big a deal......but I charge $10 more for a wings and they are made aware of this prior to me packing it....I call it a pain in the ass tax. I'm not forcing anyone to bring their rig to me, it's all their choice and they are free to go to any other rigger they want to.

I'm the rigger for my DZ and have packed every rig you can think of...so froma riggers point of view..the Javelin is #1..The Vector is #2..Mirage is #3...and Wings(I charge more to pack a Wings because they are a huge pain in the A** to pack) Safety wise I'd have to go with the Vector 3...it's freefly friendly...very functional and the skyhook just puts it over the top for safety. Looks wise I jump a Vector 3 personally.Hope this helps and to all those people out there who don't like the comment on the wings just remember that is my opinion and it's not going to change.

My DZ is looking to try and put tuck tabs on out Vector Tandems systems. We are trying to eliminate some of the velcro issues. If anyone knows of a rigger out there that is currently doing this type of modification please let me know how to get in touch with them.

I pull test all PD reserves I get once a year...usually the first repack of the year for all my regular customers and the first pack job for new customers. I pull test all round reserves every repack since most are pilot rigs that only get to me every year or two anyway and I've only had one fail and it was an old Phantom 26 and it had tested positive in the acid test anyway. I have been thinking about pull testing all ram airs once a year but my only draw back is if one fails and it's not a recommended test then who is responsible for the damage. Now I know that I've done my customer a good service because if it failed a pull test then chances are if it had a live use it has a good chance to fail, but I don't want to have to argue with a customer about " why I ripped his canopy!!" and it was " a perfectly good reserve when I left it and why I did an unrequired test" on his reserve. That is my only draw back.

Completely normal....most of the time the cable is just in a big long loop and depending on who manufactured it, it has a metal sleeve or plastic tube it passes thru. Thats a pretty crude description of the inside of one but it should give you a basic idea.

Man it's pathetic just how true these are and #25 just crushed me because it was just so true 25 signs you've grown up: 1.Your house plants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them. 2.Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question. 3.You keep more food than beer in the fridge. 4.6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. 5.You hear your favorite song on an elevator. 6.You watch the Weather Channel. 7.Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook up and break up. 8.You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. 9.Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up." 10.You're the one calling the police because those damn kids next door won't turn down the stereo. 11.Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you. 12.You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore. 13.Your car insurance goes down and your payments go up. 14.You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonalds leftovers. 15.Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt. 16.You no longer take naps from noon to 6 PM. 17.Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one. 18.Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach. 19.You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests. 20.A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff." 21.You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time. 22."I just can't drink the way I used to," replaces, "I'm never going to drink that much again." 23.90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work. 24.You no longer drink at home to save money before going to a bar. 25.You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you!!!

Hey Sunny....You couldn't be going to a better DZ to jump at if your having joint issues..... After a good day of jumping or when the pain gets to be too much just go see Kitty(tell her Kelly sent you) and she will fix you right up. She's a massage therapist and a DAMN GREAT one. She was at SDC for nationals a couple years ago and I had just had elbow surgury(actually cut my cast off so I could complete..right sided too) and she actually too time out to seek me out after every couple rounds to put things back in place and get it moving again. She was just awsome and it also didn't hurt thats she a hottie too....but if she still has a set-up there that would be my suggestion.

Yup it sure is......alot of fun to fly but it can be sort of a pain to jump from.

Rigging innovations uses the same type of line stow system on it's freebag in the Avaitor rig. It's an emergency bail-out rig for pilots....if you've ever pack on of those it's almost exactly the same .

I believe there was also an incident of a tandem reserve opening with tension knots that the JM was unable to clear and he ended up landing in the trees with it. From what I heard he did an excellent job controlling it and I think it was at Moss Point . I don't exactly remember all the details.

In the back of our twin otter about 5 hours after it got delivered to us.....someone had to break it in......also on the hose bed of a 1985 Peirce Tanker while it was park inside the engine bay at my firehouse
-
The fire dept won't do you much good if you've already turned off the breakers and there's no smoke ......thats all they would do and then tell you to call an electrician. I know ....I've been called to hundreds of the same situations and thats the advice I always give.....but if they happen to have a thermal imaging camera they can at least pinpoint where the problem is so you can show the electrician.

Just remember SA node, Av node, Bundle of His and perkinje fibers(spelling?) and the absolute refractory period is on the T-wave and when everything goes wrong Amiodorone fixes all......just take a deep breath and you'll do fine!!!!!

Is it bad to cook a lb of bacon to eat yourself?
skybeergodd replied to DeNReN's topic in The Bonfire
As one of my best friends always says.."You know what goes really good with bacon??..MORE BACON!!" -
That is a good question and it can be a grey area still.....If the jumpers weight is over the weight that the reserve is TSO'ed for then it's definitely overloaded.....but different manufacturers use different recommended weights.PD for example now uses different weights for different experience levels. Now what makes a jumper an expert over advanced is still subjective. Some manufactures are alittle more conservative on recommended weight than others are. Basically if a jumper weighs more than the reserve was TOS'ed for then I don't wanna pack that and will recommend a larger reserve but if they weigh more than the manufacturer recommendations I will educate them on the recommendations and let them use that info however they see fit.

I've had this discussion several times with other riggers and I do know of riggers who refuse to pack them and I know of a DPRE who happens to also be a DZO and he goes as far to not allow someone to jump their gear at his DZ if they are overloading their reserves. I agree with the comments made that if you won't pack it then the customer will just find someone who will. I just make a note on their rigging receipt and the manufacturers recommendations.
