  1. Now I'm curious about what she was doing to make the other pilot lose control and get it into such an attitude that it caused a structural failure. HMMMMM???
  2. Well here is my $0.02 worth....I've been a medic for 13 years now and have spent that entire time on the street. I've run thousands of calls to local jails and state prisons, I have had mixed experiences depending on which system I was dispatched to. Local jails generally were ended up being deadbeat prisoners who were looking to get outta jail and had given poor medical care while in jail. State prison were for the most part different. Those guys know they are in jail and are going to be there for years, also those prisons had doctors on staff and if you ended up in their hospital or in an ambulance then you really were injured or sick. Now the care they received was a minimal approach to medicine but it was still appropriate. Just remember ANY job experience is still something good to put on your resume. I do agree with the others in that a Tech job in an ER would be a very good opportunity. I really can't say the same about working for a private ambulance service though. I spent some time working with one in my early days and found that their policy of $$ over patient care to be just way to frustrating for me. But again I say that ANY job experience looks better than no job experience. I really hope you like the EMS field and stick with it. Blue Skies and soft landings
  3. Dude that is hilarious......Thanks for the morning funny
  4. The sport that got me into skydiving and helped develop my skills would have to be beer drinking and bar hopping I got the idea to start skydiving while talking with friends at a bar and have been given an incredible amount of great advice while sitting in a bar after a good day of jumping. My only chance at Olympic gold is to make beer guzzling a reconized olympic event.
  5. It is probly a very legit business. I took an intro flight before I took actual lessons and got my private pilot cert. They said it was only $30.00 for about 30 mins. and I would get to fly the plane and help land it. Well that intro was only $30.00 but it ended up costing me about $3500 because like jumping it is highly idictive and I just couldn't stop. Now I jump on weekends and fly during the week. Your Mom will love it. Great gift idea. Blue Skies and soft landings Kelly
  6. Now don't be the glass is half empty type of person. You should convince yourself that even if there were other females you would have still been the class"Hottie". I've been doing really good. We've finally started getting good weather and I've been taking full jumping advantage. My most embarrasing skydiving moment was several years ago. I gave the safety and first aid lecture at a Instructor certification course. When my lecture ended it was lunch time and instead of eating I organized an 8 way. The jump went as planned. I opened normally and did a monster 180 hook and hammered in. Broke my femur in 4 places. Of course I was the first to land and all the candidates saw what happened from above. After things started to call down I informed all the candidates that I should get good reviews because I was the only Instructor to give a lecture and a demonstration. If your gonna do stupid things you better be the first one to laugh at yourself.
  7. My most embarrassing moment was right after I passed the AFF course. I bought my case of beer and realized I hadn't gotten any of the hard lemonade...Blew the one chance I had at seeing the only hot female in the class drunk just kidding with you Jen

  10. Quantum Leap Skydiving in Sullivan Missouri....about an hour from downtown St.Louis. We are open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Twin Otter to jump from and plenty of freefliers to jump with. Great sites to see from the air..we regularly fly over over the state park on jump run and we just have an all around great atmosphere. Hope to see you there. Blue skies and soft landings
  11. My femur got it the worst...Hook turn horror story a few year ago unfortunately...but it's all healed and hasn't slowed down my jumping at all
  12. Hey Skygal...I'd definitly go see your doctor ASAP or go to the ER if he can't see you. If your temp is continuing to rise after tylenol and with the chest symptoms youe describing, there is a possiblity that you can have a form of baterial pnuemonia . I've worked as a paramedic for 12 years and worked in ERs for several of those years. Even if it isn't pnuemonia they can give meds that will make you much more comfortable.
  13. Best one is when Homer has a heart attack and is trying to get insurance and the agent saw where under heartattacks he had scratched out two and told the agent he thought it said brain hermorrhages.
  14. Grew up on an ambulance..started driving them at 16 for a volunteer service got my EMT and Paramedics license 11 years ago, got my fire science degree went to work as a medic/firefighter 10 years ago and am now happily in charge of an ALS ladder company.
  15. When I was a kid I always saw the big red firetrucks and thought what a way to meet women......so now I'm a professional firefighter-paramedic and driving those big red trucks but still can't meet women ...so at least part of my childhood dreams came true.
