turned low today and am so ashamed ... Yes, that's right!!! I'm starting this thread as punishment. Well, punishment to myself at the very least. If you would like to contibute a story of stupidity that you've learned from, please post it here. It will really help me look better and maybe we'll all learn something too. Vertifly ps. here's mine... Just a far spot from the DZ... off to the west. I had just enough altitude to do a mild left hook turn right above the beer line and back onto the field. I performed the hook nice, slow, and conservative... It actually looked pretty good (if I do say so myself ). But then there was a team-jumper who would have gone by on my right!!! I saw him and turned to the right when I should have just stayed straight - almost plowing him down and sliding through his canopy that was lying in front of him. I am such an ASS-BAG!!!

Just had my TMAXX upgraded to the 2.5 engine this week. Still need to break it in before really giving it the gas. The muffler has been punched too - giving it an interesting sound. Word has it that this thing will pull wheelies after the upgrade. They are fun but you gotta be into it. At speeds of 40 to 70 mph you really gotta take the time to learn driving, upkeep, and repair. It's a hobbie and should be approached this way. Just because these models are ready-to-run out of the box now-a-days.... well you get the idea. Highly advised...have lots of fun!!!

Dude, it's always hard to let best friends go. Go make a jump for Ben; he'll appreciate it I am sure.

This info may not be accurate. Please let me clarify that. This area is simply where I was once told that it was going to be located a few years ago; until now, I simply couldn't attend. Perhaps someone will chime in to verify or you can check it out with a more knowledgable source.

There are three long piers at wildwood known as "Morey Piers". I was always under the impression that in-between the two spaces where the piers are located a landing area is provided. Can anyone who has gone or working closely with event organizers confirm this? The following link is a flyer for this years boogie. The piers are shown in the background. PST, Wildwood Boogie, XKEYS, etc. Contacting any of the sources on this advertisement would probably help.

hmmm... that actually sounds a bit slow for my taste. Of it is turns out to be the majority opinion then color me surprized. I don't know a lot of people who fly less than 160mph, consistently, in head-down. Has anyone else tracked their average terminal in freefly?

A question came to mind today following a fun jump with some people at the DZ. (all names are hidden to protect the innocent - LOL).

I was kinda wondering the same thing. Weight like this under a napkin like that could mean the difference between a 70mph swoop and a 100mph swoop. What is up with that??? It must be quit a site to watch this thing coming in for landing with Luigi underneath. Amazing....simply amazing!

I am a control freak when it comes to my own life. As far as everyone else is concerned, I could give a crap less what people do as long as it doesn't affect me in a negative way. And that is the truth!!!

My favorite logbook comment wasn't even placed by me. At my old home DZ (Sussex), a guy named Robson would walk around the DZ and sneak into peoples logbooks. He usually focussed on the low-jump-numbered people (like me at the time). He would skip ahead about 30 jumps and put a skull and crossbones on your page! And he put in large black letters: "This is your BLACK DEATH jump!!!" He's a funny guy. Still comes around to jump once in a while. Of course, we would all be terrified of jumping on the day that this page came up. So funny. Someone actually had a MAL once on his black-death jump. LOL Ahhh, the good ole days....

I must say that I think it was worth the revival. Like those pants too by the way.

I hate to admit it, but you've got a point. -

This is really not a bash, rather just some advice. Perhaps a general discussion about VIBES at any DZ, or Clicks, or tandem factories, etc. would be more functional than this one. Why don't you drop the anonymity and start a useful discussion and ask about ways to correct the problem yourself? -
Who's going to CrossKeys Xtreme Sequential?

ME! but I practically live there during the summer months. -
From experience, it isn't good to go from a relationship where you REALLY care about someone, to a break up, then to another relationship again. I dated the same person for 9 years until 2001. Learning how to date again was an terrible process to say the least. Time clarified that meeting people is more interesting when you are simply going about your life and enjoying the things that you love. Go work out, study something, start a hobbie, travel, and do things that will help you gain personal strength and enjoyment. But, for crying out loud, don't LET things get monotanous. If it seems that way to you, perhaps you need to add some passions to your roster. Shots in the dark may work once in a while. That is - dating people you meet through a friend of a friend (or whatever). But the a great way to surround yourself with people you find interesting is to do the things that you find interesting. And this is also a great way to be interesting to others as well. After my 9-year nightmare I met someone right away who was great. Pretty, responsible, smart, great family, etc. Unfortunately, it was a quick turn around and there were too many things missing (particularly, my own strength) for me to enjoy someone elses company. She pushed very hard for me to be in a relationship with her. Socially speaking, we were just in different stages of life. It's like a wonderful friend told me once, "Learn to love your own life and other people will simply want to tag along." I know that I am much more attracted to women who have an agenda of their own. Why shouldn't it be the other way around? But, for crying out loud -> Be careful out there, it's a freakin jungle of fruit cakes.

Give Crosskeys a call. They probably have the skinny. Feel free to contact me on here closer to the event regarding a ride. It would be easier for me to know about a week ahead of time. GLUCK!
