Quade, you prolly already know this, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.

Try to fly your parts in the places where they are (or are going). It isn't a good idea to presuppose positioning. In other words, don't just stick your feet somewhere and hope that this is the way it is supposed to be done. I can't remember EVER thinking about my toes, foot, ankle, chin, etc. when flying. But can't they ALL be a variable?..of course, they can be. Will you decide to make them count?..or not? The questions are what will YOU do to slow down, speed up, move around, or just stay still? Sound crazy?

In MANY freefly moves (or tracking) your heading is controlled, simply, by your focus. Transition using your eyes as the center point (or center of gravity). I prefer saying center of gravity because if you think of it that way you're SET to try it. Take a photograph of the horizon, spin it on a table real quickly, and focus on a center point. While in your transition, this should be exactly what you see. It is kind of tough to keep a perfect heading when performing a barrel role in a track. It takes some consistent practice and currentness like everything else in the sport. If you're on your stomach at the start, keep your head up. If you're on your back, keep it back. In a sit, get in the habit of placing your head directly on line with the horizon before starting. After a few jumps... you won't even be thinking about it. Remember that we are, quite literally, pilots up there with only one gauge (usually an altimeter). The only other instruments you have are your senses. The more "sens'itive you are to the environment, the better you will do. I really hope this helps.

We will all pay for our mistakes in one way or another. This is particularly true if it comes to your own conscious realization of what you have done wrong. If you don't pay with shame, karma will always get you - but sometimes you get hit with shame and karma. Good luck.

Is there an official number for Cypress fires/saves?
Vertifly replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There are 5 or 6 Cypress fires recorded at your DZ? Doesn't that seem like a lot for a small DZ?? I was expecting the total number to be in the 30's or maybe 50's. But not in the hundreds. Regardless, it is still nice to see that 293 extra skydivers are walking because of it. They should hold a big way of the largest formation of people with only 8 lives left. -
dude, can't wait to get MINE... Best of luck with it. You definitely ended up with a nice style.

Tomorrow is the 6th. The dates are 7th and 8th - Saturday and Sunday. But I still hope that I'm not the only person at the DZ tomorrow! -
what chaoskitty says. i can do anything that i want as long as it doesn't affect someone else in a negative way (at least, to my knowledge). of course, how will you always know?...you won't. example: jumping out of planes scares (and hurts) my family. i've thought about that a lot but still jump my ass off. why?...weigh the variables! live life to the fullest vs. possibility of bounce vs. family apprehension ; dude, you are who you are... my philosophy is to simply keep your conscious clear, pick up a dynamically strong set of values, live life, and do good for yourself and TRY not to hurt others as best you can. What else is there? We are human, need to live life, and you'll NEVER please everyone.
