Good question and I don't think the questions are nosy in any way. B.S. Computer Science - Rutgers U. M.S. Information Systems - Drexel U. By day: rent real estate (landlord of a few properties) By evening: maintain large scale Sun Microsystems Servers for Bloomberg, a financial information company in the metro area By play: skydive extraordinare Only reason I have so many things going is because of who I am and where I want to go. I don't advise anyone to follow this speed unless they're completed committed to a specific goal. The real estate is an entity within itself. In other words, it's really just a business (an agressive gamble considering my time restraints having a FULL-time career as it is) to help fund an early retirement. Lets hope this idea works. The Server maintenance stuff is the career that I built for myself over the past 10 years or so. No complaints on the income area. I'm just thankful for a steady job in this industry now-a-days. I know Ph.D.'s out of work. build build build... Good luck...!!! ps. piece of advice... Maximize tax laws to your advantage!

Someone in my office yelled out the other day, "How do you spell COLLLEGE?!?" I just looked at my boss and didn't crack a grin.

Damn, you're really holding Sunnydee to her word. Way to keep at 'em.

How women perceive men? ??? wtf? This looks like a can that says "GIANT WORMS" on the label. And what medium are men to use for perceiving women? As society evolves Men are just going to get more confused about issues like this. Equality? Inequality? Liberalism? Dependency? etc. I shouldn't have to be PARTICULARLY polite to anyone who I wish to perceive me in a more positive way. Unless it is naturally me and consistent then it is just a bunch of BS to impress someone. Don't get me wrong... I am VERY polite to girls (at least, I think so). If chivalry were to be the standard today, I'd sure would be wondering what it is (other than the overall delicacy of women in general) that we are appreciating. Help a brotha out and exlain it.

How important is chemistry in a relationship to you?
Vertifly replied to genoyamamoto's topic in The Bonfire
Molto Importante!!! I've dated girls who were the nicest you'd ever want to meet. Sweet, pretty, smart, responsible, etc... but without chemistry, it is a no-go. -
I voted "not dead" but , for me, it may be on its death bed. I've always been chivalrous. Probably just because of the way I was raised. Perhaps some of the ladies can explain to me what men receive in return for chivalry. ??? Is chivalry an act a selflessness or appreciation for something that I haven't been made aware of? I've just been the kind of person who prefers reciprocation in relationships.

I was replying to weegegirls post. And in this context of "strippers" I would consider the actions of these people skanky. If we are talking about only removing clothes, then half of the people at my DZ would be considered skanks. Respecting your statement Skybytch... I hereby declare the empirical representation of strippers NOT skanky. However, those strippers who also engage in further physical acts and/or sexual favors are, going forward, the only strippers to be considered skanks. Thanks for pointing it out.
-
I don't think that anyone should go down on a stripper. YUK! I'd rather eat a chunk of rotten bleu cheese. Unless your friend is the one going down on these skanks I don't see the big deal. From experience, if he was upset about it all, I'd say that your friend probably isn't the kind of guy who frequents strip clubs in the first place. Perhaps it's simply THAT he's COMPLETELY devoted to someone who would finds strip clubs inexcusable...or maybe indulging in eye-candy is considered "cheating" to him, or a number of other things... It has been my own decision to NOT go to strip clubs or get into crap like that. MEN getting hot for a stripper, to me, is an act of despiration at physical attraction. GIRLS who are ok with unclothing (or fucking) in front of others typically have low self-esteem but nice asses. It's a system that works for the two categories well. It sounds like he only has good intensions by being upset about it all. Although, I think your friend should learn to trust his own feelings. I mean, he's about to let someone else trust his feelings for the rest of his life.

"Negative, Ghostrider, the pattern is full." As with many mistakes, you'll be able to look back on this one and laugh. As long as the Colonel (or whatever) wasn't in harms way, or was he? If I could swoop onto a dime, I'da done the same thing. A good swoop isn't something that brass should be able to prevent. IMHO. It's not like you're planning on hooking it over the next Normandy Beach invasion... or are you?

Sponsored people, believe in the product?
Vertifly replied to WrongWay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A team member called and represented. Nope. Unless you are the team kicking ass at Nationals or World Cup, organizing major events and boogies, or part of an incoming producing entity in skydiving...sponsorships are something that you'll have to initiate on your own. The sponsoring company's record-prestige (potential)should match the record (or record-potential) of the the skydiver. A top producing manufacturer (volume and revenue) in the sport deserves to dress the best with containers, mains, suits, alti's, etc. There are plenty of companies out there with unbelievable potential who are willing to believe in your potential as well. Find one and invest in them by telling them your story. I'd say that most skydivers who are sponsored receive few offerings. Pickins are going to be thin unless you're kicking out tons of jumps every year. Financially speaking, skydiving is a vacuum. And with gas prices going up, it's just about to get worse. However, I have spoken with members of local teams who have turned down sponsorships because of sponsorship-loyalty. Customer service and good business relationships, often times, are much more important than quality (or prestige) of product. ps. it is a good time to get a Kurupee suit... a company consistently improving line and service; plus they're still affordable so, right now, you'll get the most for your money. -
Amazon ... Do you find that working nights is condusive to your jump-schedule? I think it rocks...whenever I don't have life responsibilities during the daytime (before work), a trip to the DZ is always the next best thing.

Hi Liz, so I guess you saw my post in General Discussions too... Come to Crosskeys! ...where jumping your junk is what the cool kids are doing!
-
Came into work early to get out early (2pm-10pm instead of 4-12). Tomorrow is $14 Wednesday's at Crosskeys! Doing some swoop coaching with Heath, but I'm only able to stay there until only 3PM though... Actually, working evenings (during the week) is a skydiver's wet dream.

There HAS been a lack of participation from men with the SWOOO organization. I am here to change ALL of that. By being the first male member of SWOOO nothing will EVER be the same again. Please look for us on June 5th while we make indiscriminate history!!! Disclosure: 359.305 Disclosure statements required: disclaimer; exception for reproduction: (1) Persons engaged in calling a team swooo member a 'non-swooper', shall never jump with that team swooo member again, and continue to praise any swooo member as a swooper having been otherwise noted, unless the person furnishes the team swooo member a certificate or a written apology or receipt for the team swooo service rendered which clearly and conspicuously discloses and warrants all swooping at the DZ under any set forth rule; particularly team swooo stipluation # 359.310. (2) If the swooper disclaims knowledge as to being a member of team swooo and any information set forth in Swooo Rule # 376.253, the swooper shall so state specifically and categorically with regard to each such swooo team member that they are no longer a swooper and now just a swooo.

I wasn't sure where to post this. World-records, gender controversy, and event announcements all seem like a suitable subject for other forum topics. However, we're dipping into combined issues on this, so General Discussions seems appropriate for now. The subject of doing a CO-ED New Jersey State Record Spandex jump has made its way to the forum and to the DZ . Why would someone ever come up with such a ridiculous idea? Why not just go naked? If this sounds like a joke, a woman's issue, or funny bonfire topic, please rest assured that the people involved are VERY serious about this. For more info, see THIS and other associated LINKS . Regardless of the debates on this subject, the idea has been thrown around a lot (mostly at the DZ but also here at DZ.com). Now we have the perfect excuse to follow through with it and to not look stupid while topping the charts. It's no longer a dream, it is a reality... The CO-ED New Jersey State Record Spandex Jump is here! That's right! In an effort to NOT make any point what-so-ever.... to promote lack-of-meaning of anykind.... and to further along a sense of confusion in the world.... the two longest running members of TEAM SWOOO have agreed to perform a CO-ED New Jersey State Record Spandex Jump with me. I can't wait.

Hey, is that glass half full or is it half empty? On the one hand, we are seeing a lot more commercials hitting the silver screne over of the past few years. Yeah, it is very annoying what the movie theatres are doing to make additional money now. Then again, look at what they are doing with the extra profits... I don't know what it is like by your house, but the movie theatres around my area are huge. All of them are turning into playgrounds complete with 4 vending stations, 25 video games, and 18 screnes that are STADIUM seating. I'd pay a few extra bucks for those kinda upgrades. We never had stadium seating when I was a kid.
