  1. Sure freeflir29, I've been trying to work on something more smooth than this for a long time and just can't come up with anything. Will you teach me how to be as smmoooooth as you guys?
  2. I grew up in Lakewood, NJ during grammar school. Perhaps you can remember the DZ there if you've been around long enough. I used to watch the first ram-airs coming down in the mid 70's. While in the Marines, a room-mate of mine went out for a static line - somewhere on the east coast of N.C.. I also watch some people land under Coke (or Pepsi) canopies during an airshow at Cherry Point, NC. Then someone who I know at work had a pic of himself during a static line exit. I thought it was sooooooo cool.
  3. If I ruled the world it would be a bounce-less society with DZ's in every town.
  4. Well, that depends... Do I get to go to a heavenly place and can we freefly there?
  5. Better act fast! These are discontinued according to TWEETER. Even the ones left in the store are going to be floor models. Although, I talked the guy at the TWEETER by me into selling me his last PC105 for $560 + 5yr warranty (249). I thought it was a good deal.
  6. What's up man?? It's always a pleasure to bump into you at ANY DZ!! Keep up the flying; I know with a bunch of jumps that you are going to be a creative flyer. You're just the kind of person who's mind is open to the many rewards of the sport. Stay positive as always and see you at a DZ somewhere soon dude!!! L8R.
  7. It is this persons values, beliefs, love for country, and integrity that we should respect. Not the global affect of the political intention that he serves. This guy sacrificed a luxurious lifestyle (not to mention his life) to, voluntarily, defend something that he believed in. I think your comment may belong in another post - perhaps in Speakers Corner.
  8. If it makes you feel any better, we can always picture you landing in a tree.
  9. Hey SpiderMonkey, Good job and Great effort! There are a few points in the jump when you are flying vertical, stable, and on one heading. These are the moments you are shooting for at this point. It looks as though you may have taken some advice from people on the ground and have gone up there and experemented a few times. That is GREAT, because you are on the right track!!! This looks like the video jump where nothing seemed to works out - Murphy's Law - this always happens with the eyes on you. Try taking a step back and evaluate this skydive for a different perspective. Try not to fight the wind because you will never win. Make it work for you. My advice would be to go out on a few jumps simply flying on your back in a de-arched postition - just like someone said...as though you were on a reclining chair. Lay back, relax and enjoy a few skydives like that. Get used to NOT looking at the ground all of the time. Trust your altimeter(s). Trust your spotting. Learn to make minor changes to your positioning. AND above all - relax. Within a couple of jumps, in this position, you should be able to pic a heading and adjust your limbs (slightly enough) to make turns and stop. Relax as much as you can and make subtle adjustment to body position to stop or start momentum. Do you have an audible? How many times did you check the altitude on that jump? I only saw one time - that was breakoff altitude, is this correct? If you decide to do the back jumps, practice checking your altitude once in a while. Try to remain stable and on heading while checking. It is more difficult to check in the actual sit position and this will help you get used to countering the movement. From the back position it is only one slight move to the sit and it's easy as pie. My advice would be to go out and try that for now. Feel free to PM if you want when you get this down.
  10. or people who say, "ACKS" instead of "ASK"... ver annoying
  11. Maybe people will mistake you for Clint Eastwood or Clint Clawson or something.
  12. Dude, we should let DrunkMonkey continue to communicate his opinion about pot. He's entitled. Besides, that would just leave more for us. That's right, DM, go right ahead and enjoy YOUR poison while we enjoy ours. I'd simply rather support a drug resulting in less fatalities. Granted, it's illegal in the US, but if you want to raise a stink and tell us what we deserve...why not just go all the way with it and make some phone calls.
  13. It was about $65 to $80 about 3 years ago.
  14. I knew someone who had a Tercel and beat the crap out of it for years. It just kept on running. Best of luck with the new ride!!!

    I'm furious

I don't see how any of the information in my profile can be used against me. Could someone give me an example? Of course, I'm a dude, so things may differ i suppose.
  16. Great idea for a first season. Just be safe and visit XKeys in your travels. We have a fine DZ.

It's unfortunate but true. People are just F'd up all over the place. Stranger things occur around every corner. It seems only when violated that it begins to sink in. Whatever happened in this situation (and hopefully it isn't anything serious), just try to go on believing that MOST people aren't out to violate others' privacy.
  18. That's awesome!!! A day to remember forever.
  19. I'd sell out for 300 million. Get some plastic surgery on the DL. Move to southern Italy. Build a landing strip. Purchase an Otter and a pilot. Hold the Dave Colucci freefly festival every year. Free freefly jumps and packing for everyone!
  20. You may be able to say that it's been a healthy 3 years since being in a serious relationship of about 8-years. I'm just one of those dudes who has been to the puppet show and seen the strings. Know what I mean? Boy, this is really a tough question but an excellent one!!! As many of you at/close-to my age would agree that after the first time around (especially if you got started early), you begin growing more and more particular with time. I must admit, when I became single again (about two or three years ago), being selective was not a priority. Have I had some moments since then!?! With time, a healed heart comes back one inch thicker - that's all. My list seems bitchy but it is what it is... My list: 1. Is she enjoying her life and comfortable with herself? A sign of confidence and self interest. 2. Do her values on things support mine and is she a giving person? Not just to me, but others as well. I believe that I am a generous person and have found that this is important for me to have around. 3. Does she treat me like an adult (a minor nightmare on this one)? oh my 4. I have an extremely busy life planned; do her plans conflict with mine? 5. Is she seemingly honest? 6. Is there evidence of emotional maturity? (most girls do not have a problem with this) 7. Physically fit? (this is just a preference thing; I believe that I am fit enough to prefer a minimum level of interest in health) 8. Confident, flirtatious, sexual, comfortable with intimacy, and playful? 9. Do they know how to clean? (i am already this way and prefer mutual respect here also) 10. Is she in debt up to her eyeballs? I've never really thought much about the importance of dating a skydiver. I just don't consider the physical possibilties or restrictions of things. I always hoped to find someone with the desire for living life to the fullest. Someone with inner intensity. Skydiving fits well for me because of the intesity demanded by it; and my partner should easily identify with this feeling at the very least.

My moves are public info (oops, did I say that). Really, it's just like the DZ, the load just keeps getting bigger before the plane goes up!! Looks like we've got a four-way now. Ok, I'm organizing - it's going to be a round, to a flower, to an accordian, to a break-off consisting of kiss passes from everyone (unless otherwise spoken for of course
  22. I have to agree that this is a GREAT topic!!! I've received coaching from some of the old school greats. I remember paying particular attention to their teaching styles abilities. This is because I wanted to teach freefly someday -> more than anything else in the sport. It is my favorite thing to do within my favorite thing to do.
