Apprehension is the reason why this sport is sooooo exciting (, especially when you are starting out). Just enjoy and accept it, keep your ears open, and learn as much as you can about skydiving. You shouldn't ever really "overcome" the emotions involved with skydiving. Being able to manage the emotion is the real challenge. Like I said, just listen to your instructors and make the skyjumps with vigor and it will all come to you more easily than expected. I skated throughout my entire teens. Hmmmm, your right - there is similarity in the feeling of freedom between skydiving and skating. In fact, a lot of the people in skydiving are off-season snowboarders or x-skaters themselves. Even DZ-owner John Eddowes used to rip at half-pipe. But it is different. There's something entirely more essential or indispensable about the sport compared to any other. If you stick around, you'll begin to understand what I mean. In general, it could be that we are a tighter/smaller group because of the danger involved. Welcome and good luck to you.

How tall are you? If your 180lbs and 5'10" than I don't see a problem with keeping the limbs less baggy. Plus with the added experience, you should be able to fly slower with ease. If your 180lbs and 5'5" than you should consider getting the extra drag. Double or triple layering will help a bit too if needed.

Nice Shots! You kinda have the whole silhouette thing going on. Not sure if they were hauling ass, but they're definitely kicking ass!

What did you learn late in life that made you feel like a fool?

Oh, I'm the worst at song lyrics. Here's one: My version: "...to walk along, knowing it's three degrees!" Whitesnake: "...to walk along, down this street of dreams!" That was at about age 17. My friends are still not letting me live this down. -
Me kinda I guess. LOL

Welcome dude! And congrats on finding this awesome sport of ours. Look for me at Crosskeys! I'll be the one with the HUGE camera on his head this summer. You'll know it when you see it.

I'd say that this sounds more like Atheism, but you mentioned that God did not play a part in the process - and proceeded to use a capital G. Does God play any part of anything for you? If not, Atheist. If so, then what is God's part?

How ironic! The line "Show ME THE MONEY" from a movie by Tom Cruise. One of Hollywood's most famous practicers of Scientology. Not that I'm promoting this belief or anything. Haven't even read the book (Dianetics).

I like the look of the logo! Kinda could use some depth (3d - shading or something). What colors are you thinkin?

Kinda sounds like Scientology: Scientology applied religious philosophy. It is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, universes and other life. Scientology means scio, knowing in the fullest sense of the word and logos, study. In itself the word means literally knowing how to know. Scientology is a "route," a way, rather than a dissertation or an assertive body of knowledge. Through its drills and studies one may find the truth for himself. The technology is therefore not expounded as something to believe, but something to do.

eye glass colors look kinda superimposed. Are they real?

I was embarrassed to learn, at about 26, that IRREGARDLESS is not a word, only REGARDLESS. Now it is a pet peeve. -
Nice horse! Best of luck with her.

T SHIRTS WHATS THE DEAL????
Vertifly replied to RichardWeed's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Gotta agree with head over heals. What we really need are shirts that truly depict what we do up there! The only VRW t-shirt that I'v ever seen looks like the gang from Archie doing a six-way, head-down, with a tube. Who's gonna figure that one out? There are two kinds of T's out there: 1) ones that appeal to the masses. 2) ones that appeal to just skydivers. It is #1 that concerns me the most. We need a shirt that says, straight up: "I fly UPSIDE-DOWN because of the F'N SPEED" with a great pic (a clear one) of a four way head down or something like that. ps - you can have that idea for free. make any money on it, just find me and shake my hand -
