When you see, or hear the word "GOD" do you think of....
Vertifly replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
Dude, I honestly can't help thinking to myself... "I wonder what the word "god" means to others. It couldn't possibly be the same thing as everyone." It is all very confusing and lacks enough evidence to support anything other than what people tell you, what you have read, or the speculation that comes from your own mind. So, how will you ever be correct in assuming the truth. "Faith", you may reply. To me, faith has the same level of possibility of being a pacifier. "Hope" could be the ultimate coined word in spirituality. -
Have your relatives come to see you skydive?
Vertifly replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, right on Denise! I had great fun on our 3D dive. I hope to have helped a little bit. That is a really cool DZ. The vibe is kickin. See you at the KEYS over the summer. -
Have your relatives come to see you skydive?
Vertifly replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My relatives show very little interest in the sport or coming out to see some landings. I was just wondering what everone elses experience is with this. -I do plan on changing that this year though. -
Can anyone tell me if there is such a thing as a NON-circular polarizing lense? I had the circular one attached to my GL2. As you may already know, a circular polarizing lense moves around. Therefore, it has some play in the lense. The weight of my wide-angle lense coupled with the polarized lense causes vibration (NO MATTER how much gaffers tape I put on it yes, I thought of that). So, I'm thinking that I will need a fixed polarizing lense. Is there such a thing??? And where can I get one??? Thanks

Correction, my dear. ...I am NEVER sexually ambiguous; just discrete.

I would only continue dating someone who: 1) knows how to keep a clean home, 2) is interested in cooking for me, 3) is capable of living passionately, 4) appears to have integrity, 5) who loves/respects themself physically, emotionally, etc.

Sweet... I'll keep that in mind. Where is South Bay? on 95, 595, or 27? Do you normally take 95 straight to Southern Blvd.? Thanks ahead dude. CU-there.

It looks like we may actually be able to get out of work early-afternoon tomorrow. It's about 1 1/2 hrs from Ft. Lauderdale? Should there be many people hanging around and jumping on Friday evening? I wonder. ..and hope so. Common guys and gals, let's do a medium way that evening! I'll bring the 3-chip and do outside!!! A sunset kinda load (or two) sounds like a nice way to finish of a sedentary week behind computer screens. AUGGH!!! help a brotha out...

Hey Sunnydee, I was at SoBe last weekend for two days. This weekend, I'm looking at Saturday only. Basically, I am in Ft.Lauderdale on business for the week. But yeah, if you feel like comin on down, we can do one or two. The only camera I have right now is a GL2 (the BIG-MAMA) - so it doesn't quite fit the profile of a two-way skydive; although, it would be my pleasure to help out in any way that I can. The freefly level at the DZ, in general,is very high. A lot of talented and helpful people are roaming around SoBe on a constant basis. And there are a couple of onsite freefly guru's that have much to offer as well. PM me if you want and we'll chat. I have limited PC time this week. Peace. -DC

I can't wait till this Saturday!!! The past weekend at SOBE kicked ass and it wasn't even a boogie. The VIBE there is rockin, everyone is soooooo friendly and helpful (thanks to Michelle, Louis, and Jim (the packer and the flyer), the Otter just kept on doing back-to-backs the whole time. And its good to see that Pahokee still has a VERY freefly-friendly DZ. Too bad some traffic came in on Sunday. It sounds like the weekend coming up is going to be an even better blast. Hopefully, I will be able to get on some great skydive's and do outside video for everyone. I am really looking to capture some innovative footage - so put on your creativity caps and let's go do some BADASS flying. See you on Saturday.

Yeah... Haven't flown with a lot of freefly babes on here. But I do know that BELLA and DOVE rock hard corps freefly ass!!! Both very fun to fall and smile with.
-
Yeah, but too bad it doesn't work via proxy. Darnit!!!! But, then again, if it did I would NEVER get ANY work done. As if skydiving itself wasn't bad enough... sheeesh.

SoBe Gravity Party Weekend March 12-14
Vertifly replied to SkydiveSoBe's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I WILL BE THERE!!! -
I don't do anything else. Hardly ever drink (if so, it's usually just wine (and an expensive one at that so I am not gulping it down). I'm in the gym more than anyone else that I know. The day smoking affects my ability to be athletic, I WILL QUIT. My guess is that this day WILL come, but it hasn't yet. In my opinion, alcohol is a much more potent and harmful drug - physically and emotionally. I am sure that weed has a different affect for everyone. Like everything else, I will try to avoid using cheap (or unnatural - like hydro) stuff. If you have self-discipline and a sense of control while on it, I do not see the problem. The fact that it isn't legal here blows my mind. Granted, the stuff is illegal and this bothers me quite a bit. However, after a stressful week you will NOT find me sitting at a bar contemplating my sorrows over a beer. It just isn't in my nature. Instead, I'd rather just toke one out and create something by writing or drawing, talk to a friend about something deep, watch a movie from a different perspective, or have sex while on it (that is just the best if you ask me). Pot just permits a MUCH more rewarding way to celebrate things. IMHO. -DC

I love that!!!! Spunk, chick, skydiver....what could be better? Go get um'!!!

I'd post a pic of myself doing a belly-flop or even posing in some queer way, but I'm wayyyyyy to personal with my body (unless I'm drunk of course). Send me a case of beer and you'll get another pic!!! LOL

I'm sorry. What is it, exactly, that constitutes a successful RW dive again? I always thought that a successful skydive was exiting a plane and walking away uninjured. And whatever happens in-between was ALL-GOOD. For me, there isn't a choice really. My way of enjoying freefall or expressing my abilities on a jump was doing whatever I felt; as long as I was in control and safe to the other jumpers on the dive. RW, being that it fits into this category, is a way of freeflying. This is why I think that 3D dives are soooo cool. However, vice-versa, we'll never be able to say that. I'm not trying to propogate this opinion upon anyone. You asked, so I will say that this is my own perspective; which, it turn, allows me to be a better freeflyer.

US Marine Corps E-4 on exit Harrier Mech Mostly North Carolina, Yuma-Az, USS WASP in Desert Storm 4-years Cool Memories: Every minute of it; I mean, hell, I was ages 17-21. I can remember every moment of my life during those years. I was very proud then and still am. The Marine Corps helped me set the standard for the life that I live today.
