Is there any chance or should I say what are the chances of a tube stow (rubberband) breaking inside the container. I heard that one of most nastiest mals is a line dump and it just got me thinking what if your stow broke inside the container while it was just sitting there at your house. How would you know? Couldnt that cause so major problems? Just wondering if anyone heard of such a problem. jason

Yippeeee ,,,,,, I took my "A" licence test yesterday and passed!!!!!I'm now a licenced skydiver. Man does it feel great. Hi Michelle, well I guess theres not to much more to say that hasnt been said. I think since your still on stuent status and half of your rig failed you outta get half your money back for that jump(J/K). All joking aside listen to whoever it was that said get back up thee ASAP. I cnat tell ya I know how you feel cause I havnt had a mal yet. But I have heard of people getting eaten alive by there fear from sitting too long. You know the drill now... and you know it works. The only reason I'd say dont move to Utah is because the school systems here SUCK!!!!Other than that its a nice state w/ 3 DZ's. Cost of living is kinda high. I'm debating going back to michigan when my kid starts school. jason

Hi phillykev, Thats cool though you got released on L3. My coarse went like: L1= Tandem L2= Tandem -learn tracking, counterturns,PRCP's,altawar, pull RC L3= First solo JM hold, heading, COA's, alt aware, pull RC L4= COA, JM release, toe tap, 360 lft, 360rt, pull L5= Solo exit, JM docks, 90lt,90rt, redock with JM(forwardmovement), 360lt, redock with JM, seperate, track for 3 count, pull L6= Solo exit, stable position, backloop, stable, backloop, stable, track, pull L7= Superman exit, front flip out the plane, 360lt,360rt, backflip, track, pull. All steps of coarse done while maintaining a heading. Any way that was pretty much my coarse, at least what I remeber. There was also some trim control and other little things I cant quite remember which level they were in .

As soon as I got off student status I was trying to jump as many diff rigs I could get my hands on. Then My DZO brought in a new Talon2 container with a new reserve and put a main w/ 150 jumps on it in the rig and said try this. Loved it...and on jump 17 bought it!!!!. I know that seems kinda fast to be buying a rig but I got a great deal on it and counldnt pass it up. Plus the thing fits like a glove to me!! jason

But with a static line you still have something physically pulling out that chute and odds are it will work granted I'm sure there are cases where it hasnt. Too me and this is just my opinion and not attacking anyone,, to say I dont want a tandem or an AFF instructor by my side to pull the chute because I dont trust him/her is like saying I dont want to go up in a plane unless I can fly it becuase I dont trust the pilot. You can say that riding in a bus or any thing. Thats why people go to schools and are trained.... so they dont screw up. Yes people make mistakes and shit happens however a trained person has a better chance than an untrained, unknowledged person performing that specific task for the first time. Thats all I'm getting at...was his attitude and approach to the whole topic. jason
