  1. SO far so good ...I havnt seen anyone at our DZ like these guys. BUt one of our jumpers said that while he was jumping with a team they all broke and tracked away, well when my friend looked around to clear the area before deploying, one of the guys followed next to him and threw his pilot chute right at his face with a smile. I guess theses guys were some team thats know in Utah to be like "sky bandits" or something (assholes). Needless to say my freind was pissed!!!! jason
  2. DOWH!!!! I knew I forgot something!!!LOL thats too funny. Yeah I hope shell' be a jumper but I'm not goingto push it on her......At least I tell my wife that tee-hee!! jason P.s but I bet you can guess what she'll be for halloween[wink}
  3. When you put your 2 year old little girl her swing belly down,,start swinging her and teach her to reach and pull(which she can do now
  4. SOrry man ...what can I say.. I'm a loser I only saw bits and pieces of that movie DOWH!! jason
  5. From what I understand is that when I went through my training the 5-5 siganl was to let the instructors know that you knew your altitude and was ready to start your pull sequence. Yes this is not a good signal when jumping with other jumpers however I feel that other jumpers should not be jumping next to or above a student unless he/she is a J/M instructing that student or is aware that it is a student jumper. jason
  6. I'm not sure but I thought I read on a past thread were some leg strap pads are interchangeable...Maybe you could ask if they could put some better padding on it. OR hurry up and get off student status so you dont have to fly those big bulky student rigs. I was able to do my whole AFP coarse in one weekend so by monday my crotch looked like it went through hell and back but at least I was do and only dealt with the pain for that one week after! (be safe though)!! jason
  7. Just tell them theres a lot of "pud" pulling and "packing" going on!!!hee-hee!!! jason
  8. zip-zip...chica chica chica waw wa wa waw wawwwwwww sscratch scra-scra-scratch....dudududududu jamin #1 zip/slap boun chica boun boun chica boun!!!! (sounds better in person jason
  9. I'll vouch for that... We did or should I say attemted a 12way one time and the whole formation (8way,base and 4pods) collapsed onto itself or funneled I guess you would call it. Anyway I lost count how many times I hit peoples heads, gear or bodys in those brief seconds with my head. All's I got is a protec but it did the job up there. As for bouncin at 120????????I hope I never find out! jason
  10. Funny you should mention that. I actually bought the same protec helmut I trained with and also the same jumpsuit I used.
  11. I went up for a 9 way on my freinds 100th jump and TOTALLY blew the exit. Was standing to far back into the otter and when we launch I ened up slamming into the rear of the door and destroyed the base!! But everyone got it together and still came in to have a fun dive. DId anyone yell at me...nope (some did wonder what the hell happened though) and I learned something about exiting and I feel thats the most important thing. If you learn something from your jump no matter how small then your always improving. Just glad to here your not giving up. jason
  12. DROP OUT????? Hell thats when everything s getting good. Now you can travel to other DZ's and make more friends. I'll admit though there is some intimedation when first starting out, but both sides have to be willing to advance. YOu cant walk in to a DZ and expect everyone to just come to you,,, you have to approach them! And once you do you'll find that most are very nice and helpful. jason
  13. I'm really starting to like RW. Ever sincd the Otter came that weekend and all we did was formation jumps I learned a TON about flying my body with and around other people. However I wuld also like to try Freefling. jason
  14. OOOOOH!!! good point... better to pay for a 40$ repack (or what ever you pay) than a 600$ to whatever 1000$ chute from ripping it!!!!Of coarse there it is again ...your chute, your life, your decission. Make it a good one!! jason
  15. First off I'll say nice job for keeping your cool and working the problem!!!!!Second, for me and this is just me I would have given the riser (or that line)that the line group was in that was causing the line over a couple good tugs to try and clear it. Again for me if I'm pulling at 3000ft, my dissicion altitude or hard deck is 2000ft. So depending on the mal,in this case a line over I would have worked it to 2000ft and then no matter what if I'm not in absolute control....CHOP CHOP PORK CHOP!!!!HOwever if the line over caused a severe spin right from the start say 2500ft I would chop it right away!!!! But eitherway some people will agree with your chioce and some will disagree but you make the over all call and you walked away from this one. Agian nice job. I would look over the chute or have a rigger check it out though for damage! jason
  16. I think if you use the head phones that sick right in your ear and had a helmut on with it cranked up you'd be able to here it during FF. Just like you can hear an audible. jason
  17. I dont plan on trying this anytime soon,, I was just wondering if anyine here had!!!!
  18. Damn ...I must of lucked out. My packing class consisted of me asking one of our packers "hey can you help me"?. she said sure. I went through the motions but she pretty much packed it.I paid her. Then after that my second pack job another guy went over the diff parts of the chute and how to recognize them as I packed it. From there I just packed it and if I had a ??? or a problem one of the packers would come over and help me. Even now 14 pack jobs later (with no mals) I still may have a question once in a while and thats been it. I think a lot of it is just in the confidence you have in your self. The more I pack the more confidence I have just dont just dont confuss confidence with complacencey!! jason
  19. Whats wrong with the math.....without counting my gear thats what I paid to get up to my A lic jason
  20. Here is my money break down ...hope this helps: AFP (2 tandems/ 5 solos):910$ (40$discount if paid at once) Coach Jump: with rental and ticket 54$ Jumps 9-16: with rental and ticket 272$ Bought own gear: A lot of money
  21. I read in some past posts that some of you take things up with you like cameras. or drinks or what not. I was just wondering if anyone has ever ran a pair of head phones (the kind that fit into your ear) under your suit with a helnut on and free falled to a kick ass song. Kinda like that kid in the movie IRON EAGLE that couldnt fly worth a shit unless he had his music on. Of coarse I'm assuming you wouldnt use a audible alt. Would this be safe jason
  22. I started this post in the SAFETY and training section because the possibilites of line stoes(stows) breaking while in my container is a SAFETY consern to me hence SAFETY and TRAINING!! jason P.s thanxs for all the post replys!!
  23. I heard it once and I'll say it again....."money isnt everything...but it controls 95% of everything we do!!!
