Went out yesterday to make acouple fun jumps and on my last jump for the day had my first snivel. I just transitioned from R/C to hand deploy and from a Navigator240 to a Spectra 190. WOW what a difference!!! That Hand deploy is soooo much smoother on opening. however on the last jump I looked up ans saw a ball of chute. I saw the slider so I figured it was just a snivel but I went for the handles anyway and started the count. Sure enough a couple seconds later she sloooooowly opened. I pull at 3500 so I had some time to wait for her!! But still it was a little spooky for me, but I guess thats just skydiving!!!! It was just nice to know that even though it wsnt a mal my mind went right to "ok get ready for possible emregency proceedures". All in all it was a nice day for jumping and a learning experince. jason

ARRRRRGGHHHH!!!! I would love to come however I'm a couple jumps shy from my A lic ( a couple being 13). However there are people from my DZ that go down there so I'm sure I'll get there as soon as i'm licenced!! jason

My Dad has been a pilot for about 12 yrs. He always says hed like to try jumping but I dont think his back will let him. Owell he can fly em and I'll jump em. either way we both can appreciate the sky. jason

Hey Skreamer, no worries man I'm not like fumeing over it or anything, I was just giving my thought s on it. I dont know though a lot of ppl do a lot of stupid things so I wouldnt put it past someone to try. I guess you could call it the old "calling wolf" joke! jason

Maybe I'm over reacting but if I was the DZO I would have chucked him WITH damage. What the hell he's 18!!! If this story is true that kid needs an ass \beaten in my book. Didnt he realize the potential danger and panic he put on the Instructors? What would of happened if the 2 JM's hit each other or hit him while trying to catch him. I don t know ppl flame me if you want but I just think thats a bad joke to play. jason

Dude as tom hanks once said (slightly modified)" It's suppose to be intense, if it wasnt everyone would be doing it,, it's the intensity the makes it fun". Go for the AFF. I just graduated AFP (2 tandems, 5 AFF's ) last weekend and man what a blast. But then again you gotta do what you feel is best for you. However weather ou jump out of a plane at 4000 or 10,000 its all intense to me!!!!. I think I'll be more nervous for my first hop n pop than I was for my first solo! Good luck json

I havent drank the night before I go just for the fact that the last 6 jumps I made were AFP jumps and its hard enough to learn to fly clear headed let alone with a hang over, plus Im a light weight....4 beers and I'm feeling pretty tipsy! what can I say I'm a cheap date!! jason

whats with all you canadians causeing problems up there in Quebec? What happened did a DZ close down? That would be a good excuse to riot!!! I turned on the news and seen people throwing things at the cops over some kind of trade thingy or something (see how envolved I am) I think I saw TEE and IFLYME there too...

If you BASE jump off the empire state building and your chute doesnt open, go limp. then you'll look like a dummy and someone will try to catch you because hey.......free dummy!! jason

Since I only have seven jumps , i'd have to say my best jump was level 7 AFP. It not only was it the sunset load but it was my graduation jump from AFP. The reason I thought it was te best was because to complete the jump you had to incorperate evrything you learned in the last 4 jumps to this. Exit was a superman dive( its a lot diff from looking ahead off a strut to looking down at the ground) into a front flip, stable out ,lft 360 rgt 360, one back flip, and then into a full tracking position. pull at 3500!!!(oh yeah there were some alt checks in there too). It just feels really great when it all comes together in 40 seconds!!! jason

Well LAZERQ3 I use because it is my email address and its what I do ...work with lasers; however my nickname offline is 2beers. ANd how I got that was when I first moved out to Utah (USAF)of coarse I didnt know anyone,well I went to this party and drank about 5 beers and then we went to another party tht night where of coarse there was more people I didnt know. I'm a light weight when it come to drinkin so when we got to the sec place alls I could handle was 2 beers and was then passed out!!! The people I just met saw this and thought I passed out on 2 beers hence the name

My home away from home is SKYDIVE OGDEN in UTah. We have 2 planes (c-182 & c-206). I'm about 5 to 10 min away depending on if I get stopped by the traffic lights. Its small but really friendly. Everyone there are always willing to answer questions and help ya out. jason
