  1. Yes he and I are both or have talked about those. There is not good reason a rigger couldn't set you a system other then it's not your rig or his, it's the dz's. You need to talk to your DZO,instructors, and a rigger about what Terry and I have been talking about and see if they can/will help you. I jumped at SSM while traveling with out a rig, They had newer canopy designs at that time (few years ago) those newer canopies have lighter riser pressure then older student canopies, so it don't take a lot to pull them down, but if you can't close your hand all the way your shit out of luck, so you need a handle of sorts in order to do as they are asking you to do. If they won't help you out you need to find a new DZ that will understand your medical issues. If we can drop blind jumpers and people missing limbs and tandem quads, we damm sure can rig up a set of handles for you to use. I'm sure if you start with talkng to the DZO you will know right then and there if they will help you or not, if he says to a rigger to hook you up your good to go, if he says stop being a pussy, walk out get in your car and go to skydive temple and go talk to the dzo there and explain what's up. Repeat if needed. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. Yea I could but then you would be dicking around trying to hook up your stuff and not looking out for others or where your going. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. Well it read to me like you were being a dickhead just to be a dickhead, now I might have took your post the wrong way, but if you came off the same way to Bill Booth as I read your post I'm not surprised he stopped sending you a reply, just something to think about, we don't always come off the way we intended too when typing a post or e-mail or a PM. I'm just as guilty of doing the same. Now you two kiss and make up already! As for, Personally I think it was kind of high, my hard deck is 1000 to 800 ft. and I'm not a base jumper.... What I mean by that is I'm not going to get all worked up over being under 1800 ft with a small pain in the ass like a brake hung up and one released, it's not like having a baglock or something and passing thru 1600 ft. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. Why don't we just ask the man Mr. Booth for some real data from the huge amount testing done with the system instead of turning this into a giant pissing contest! Anyway who really gives a shit, unless your planning on chop'n at 100ft. The system works! Hydroguys lives to jump again and that is all that really matters, no need to bash the dude for posting his experience with the system. 5. Yes and there a bunch I know that don't have any other then 288 mantas or 220 raiders/furys in the fleet and no newer canopies and they have no mods on the risers to use. I have heard many students talk about how they couldn't pull down much if at all. I think Terry said better what I what thinking, there are many ways to rig up a way to help this jumper do what needs to be done with out killing his hands or risking a full riser flair when he can't grab a riser. My left hand is all busted up and I have many problems with it myself and I can understand where this jumpers is coming from, we have to learn to live with the pain and the fact you just can do somethings anymore and it will never get better. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Sounds like someone I know who just got an S&TA in the southern region, and at one time had all ratings, yet for the last 5 years has been a 4 way team weenie and has done NO,ZIP.NADA,ZERO student jumps or trained a class or any other of the requirements to maintain the ratings S/L-I AFF-I and PRO, yet some how during the last five years he has been able to get the ratings "signed off". And more then one person(local s&ta,DZO) knows he has not maintained the requirements to keep the ratings. 7. If you were my student and just couldn't do it due to a medical issue, I would. 1. sew up a set of dive loops on the inside of the rear and front risers so you could get your hand in them and be able pull down with out all the pressure in the knuckles from the gripping. Not my first choice more work involved for one student. 2. Take a set of toggles and attach them to the rear riser links with 550 (or other line) and tack them down to keep from flap'n around and out of the way or sew more velcro for them to stay in place till needed. This would be on the back side on one side or the other of the brake line. This would be the most simple way to do it and would allow you to put your whole hand in just like a regular toggle. If your dzo and riggers won't help you and keep holding you back due to a handicap, go some place that will go the extra mile to help you. Many dz's students rigs don't have dive loops on student rigs but we require students (now) to learn to fly with all inputs. Not everyone is strong enough to pull down on risers by just grabbing the plain riser. I hear many women students express this and guys too, it takes a lot to pull down on a bigass manta or other skyboat. More dz's should address this if we are going to require students to fly bigass canopies with risers and landing with only a rear riser flare, I know many people who wouldn't be strong enough to do a good flare on a 288 manta or skyboat. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. You bring up a very good point, for the record I wasn't knocking the dude for cutting away, but putting out another fix to the problem for others to keep in mind. However with so many hotrods in the sky these days this fix may not be a good idea to try. Now if your jumping a slower canopy and time and airspace to attempt restowing a toggle would allow a try, it is worth a try. I would never tell anyone they were fucking up by going to plan B, it is their ass up there dealing with what ever and I'm safe on the ground, it's not my place to bash them. With that said, I have done it and know it can be done. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  10. Your one of those crazy fucks who jump out of aeroplanes! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. Why didn't you just restow your right toggle? And fly wih your risers. At least all's well that ends well and you got a new "no shit story" to tell. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. No we were not, we had to wait like everyone else, and we didn't bump up jumpers off the plane in order to go first, like many dz's do today. Then again we didn't have the tandem mills we do today. If you bump them why would they want to stick around or come back. You want to reap the one time tandem students money while dissing the people who will be there as a regular for a longer amount of time and more then likely went thru your student program, buy gear with you and spent way more then a tandem, that is fucked up! Once in a while due to sunset or something is one thing and understandable, but to do it regularly is wrong. Again why would they want to if your bumping them off loads, they want to jump, thats why they are there. You got that many student and can't afford to operate a bigger aircraft. or at least bring in one for busy weekends, you know ahead of time there coming. There is no good reason to bump your regulars to cater to tandems other then being greedy or broke or both. JMO ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. Don't spread that around you'll ruin his reputation. (muttering)damned old long haired no shoe wear'n goofy looking hippy pilot freak. Only pilot I know to be banned from the FBO for being a heathen or maybe it was cuz he is a Texan.LOL ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  15. Why would someone form Dallas TX spend so much time and effort to give a shit? Who's pay roll are you on, MSRV or SDKC? While I would agree that putting up a fake web page is NOT cool and very skyride like, at least the owners are putting their money into their dream, it is their risk, not yours. How is what you posted not mudslinging telling others to not jump there? Many of the early Kansas dz's had no shitters or indoor packing, the class room (LOL) was a t-hanger you used after the 182 was pushed out of it. Any real oldtimers in Kansas would remember Kaw Valley skydivers, later to be called Topeka skydivers and the airport was Mesa Virde or as we called it Mesa dirty we had none of the facilities jumpers have today, if you had to take a crap you found bush and took a squat it was that way for years, you don't need all that crap in order to jump, some gas, a rig or two and a plane. As for supporting the the dz's that are there now, maybe people want something other then what is there now, they can chose on their own and don't need you to tell them what to do. I for one won't jump at Chris Halls dz or the sharps dz. I don't support dz's that tell me I have to have a cypres in order to jump there, even tho I have a cypres in my AFF rig, but that would be the only rig I could jump at those dz's out of the many rigs I own. Although it would be fun to go to those dz's with my belly wart rig's just to ask them how do you put a cypres in a wart. I don't need dzo's telling me I need an AAD in gear I have been jumping longer then they have been in the sport or dzo's. It is their place, they make the rules and have a right to do so, I have a right to not support them and have not wasted my time to go to those dz's when in the area. As for Tom Dolphin YES he has a nice place and has been there a long time and done a lot for the sport in that area, out of the dz's in the KC area that is the one place I would go to, but if I had the choice of a 182 or twin otter, I 'm going to go to the otter dz. Is it Toms fault that jumpers didn't support him when he had a fulltime turbine? No not that I'm aware of, but I wasn't a jumper there, maybe he is a big dickhead and people don't like him? I don't think that is true I have never heard anything bad about him, I know many a jumper who called it home for a long time and nothing but goodtimes at his dz. So if Tom can't run a fulltime turbine it is the skydivers fault for not showing up to jump because they spent their money on season tickets to watch football or spent their weekends at worlds of fun instead of at the dz and that was their choice to do so. The one problem with todays skydivers is they all think a dz has to have all the fancy crap like the big boys (z-hils-deland-eloy) but don't want to pay the price to have all the toys. The bottom line here is if the new dz owners want to put there money where there mouth is, LET UM TRY! One of two things will happen, it will turn into a great dz and give the jumpers what they want, or it will fail and they will be down the road. If you really don't like it as much as it seems you do, maybe you should go buy you a turbine and lease it to Tom or Chris or the Sharps or rotate it between them, and fight fire with fire and your pocket book. Then you can bitch about the cost of ownership and how the locals won't support you and your toy, but don't come back crying when some jumpers get on here slam'n your operation and telling everyone not to jump your plane. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. What kind of helmet are you using would help to tell you all the parts you need, but in short you can get the orange tinted ones and swivel pretty cheap, last time I got both for 45 bucks I think from sunshine factory. If have a side mount you made need an extended mounting post. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. I kind of thought you had done your share looking at your numbers. If all else fails wrap the knees and don't forget to take a big dump before you jump, and a little wind is your friend. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. What are you a PHAT ASS or something. No really how much do you weight and how long has it been since you jumped it, I get soft stand ups under a MK-1 and really soft stand ups under a 27ft russian and I'm 220 to 230 out the door, then again the canopies I jump are well cared for and not worn out, but as old as sparky. LOL Just take a big dump before you jump and you'll be fine. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  21. Being in the market to replace my strobos, with a goldmember type, I see P.E.C. charging 99usd for a strobo and 95 for goldmember. Cookie you need to get a move on some of us can't wait a few weeks, I like that one, I 'll be happy to test one out for ya. Any know of a web site for Terry Shumacher products Or must we call only? 22. Sorry but we do have authority, that is to use our ticket with in the scope of the law, where you like it or not. From your postings I would have told you to fuck off and take your rig and your attitude else where long before you had the chance to take your work down the road, had I found you signing my name and using my seal. sounds to me you got some kind of hardon for riggerrob,my guess is he told you to fuck off too. It's not about being a wannabe cop or having an authority, it about having respect for the person who's name and seal is on your rig, should you chose to not respect your rigger why in the hell should we show any respect for you and not turn your sorry ass into the FAA should you continue to sign someone elses name over and over, as a rigger why should I turn a blind eye to your actions, I would have a duty to protect myself and my fellow riggers. Don't do the crime, if you can't pay the fine! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Another good point as to why it sucks ass when people sign data cards with a riggers name, and have other riggers calling up to ask about your shitty work. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
