  1. I know but I could help it. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. My set up. Flat top pro Sony vx2100 on a strobo(soon to be on schumacher) Canon 20d/w sigma 20mm on strobo (soon to be replaced with TSQR) 580ex flash I can replace the vx2100 with a TRV 525 or a PC100 if needed. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. What I want to know is where are all the pencil packing fans we had about a month ago in rigger robs thread. As I recall there were many posters who thought it was no big deal, so what is all the fuss about with this rigger doing it anyway? Pencil packing is a great thing and sloppy rigging is too.
  4. My attachment point. As you can see it is hooked up to the top of my leg strap, with your larger wing this placement won't work for you, but you need to have no to little gap. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. With out being able to see your suit on you, I would think moving the "clips" to the inside of the leg might be the best bet, this would keep the seam tight along your body, if set up right there should be no gap or at least a very, very small one. Now that you have lived thru this I'm sure you won't do it again, or want to. After seeing this happen live in front of me when I was starting out, I have always kept my design tight aginst my torso for this reason. Again glad to hear your alright. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. I used one last season on my PC. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Thanks.... We jump a lot of them, cuz is fun!
  8. I would agree 100%, I have a tony "c"wing jacket and my wing clips are on the leg strap of the rig just above the buckle. With or with out the swoop cord there is no gap to pull thru, we learned this years ago, and I'm surprised a more experienced camera flyer didn't point this out before he made jump one with it. Then again I have seen a lot of new guys who blow off good advice and think they know it all till they learn the hard way that what we were saying was true. (not saying that is the case here) If your going to start to jump camera you better think about all the what if's and double check all your shit then double check it again before you jump. Make some jumps with just the wing, get used to it, then add the video only, get used to the two, after you get used to that, then add the still camera on. Make sure you can get rid of the helmet if you need to. (cutaway system) The biggest mistake I see people make is getting in a hurry to do it all to soon, people need to slow down and take the time to learn. You can't just spend your money strap the shit on a be a camera man making money on jump one, you should plan on making 100 jumps for free to learn. This is one of the most dangerous jumps you can make and you always need to keep that in mind forever. I glad to hear this poster made out ok and I hope others learn something from his post. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Yes it's Tammie Carone with the barbie and it was a PMS jump. #'s 16, 31, 32 ,33, 34 ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  13. I've been holding out for a long time now, so I spent the day going thur my stack of disks and picked out my favorites from the last two seasons. Some are great shots and some I just like, because. Best viewed enlarged, hope you all enjoy. group #1 ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. When I started jumping it was a case for your "first" anything worthy, ie, first jump, you owed beer! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. I have seen an SSK rigger stow extra in the channel after the pouch was full, but it was only a small amount, call SSK and talk to Eric Camble, he is the one I have seen do it. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Flack packing is when your in a hurry to make a load and every one keeps throwing shit at you across the hanger. Flat packing is when you pack you canopy flat. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. I would say if someone came to the dz and got busted like this the rig would get lost till the police or the FAA showed up, it is called citizens arrest of the rig and or jumper could be detained under the law untill the cops got there. JMO But I'm sure other will say I'm wrong. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. good guess but it was no one ad in general, just a lot of stupid ones over all. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. If I was going to buy another lens I would get a canon or sigma 15mm, for the simple fact I know what the results will be with it. Good glass is not cheep and using cheap glass to try to save money will only cost you more in the long run. I have great results with my sigma 20mm even with the conversion factor, I don't have fly all that far away, it has a wide FOV IMHO, but it is a big ass lens and has some weight to it, but it's not that bad. Attachments have not been cropped or edited. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. 15mm or 20mm would be worth looking at, it would depend on what you like and what you want to photos to look like. I use a sigma 20mm on my 20d. I could use a sigma 15mm to but don't have one. I like the fixed lens my self for FF. JMO ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. People if your going to take the time to post your used gear in the classified ad's, don't you think that someone looking for what your selling just might want to know the needed information about what you have for sale. Like size of container or the size of canopies you had in it, size of the harness, how many jumps on a canopy your selling ECT. And how about the real stupid ones who don't fill out your profile and have your PM's turned off, YET leave no contact info, no wonder we had to invent AAD's! For god sakes some of you people write some really shitty ad's, it's no wonder your crap don't sell ! Why not do everyone a big favor and and write a real ad and tell people what the hell it is you have for sale and give all the needed info to your buyers, and put a photo of it up too or we'll think your selling junk you don't want anyone to see. End of rant on ad's that suck! To greenies sorry if this is in the wrong forum. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. No self respecting test jumper would go with a good old fashion drunken riggin. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Raising potentially serious safety issues with reference to a specific person by name without the facts to support it This is why I asked for a tad bit more info, you never know all the sig's/seal on a data card that may come thru the loft your working in. To Tombuch It is in Wisconsin. You are correct, this shouldn't have been posted in the way it was with out some real information from the FAA or unless it was posted by the DZO of sky knights as a PSA. Safteyjest,FYI- the above should be something for you to keep in mind when posting someones name, while I understand why you may have done so, you need to be able to back it up with solid proof or word it better if you don't have the proof. I don't think it was the intent of the e-mail for you to post it, but that is between you and the sender. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. you care to give a tad more info as to what your talking about. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
