  1. Yes it looks to be in good shape.Just looking at photos is hard to tell how good a shape it really is, hell it could have less then ten jumps on it for all we know. If you think you want one and the price is a fair price to you, then bid on it, if you really want to have your own rig. Then again if you want to jump one first before buying, then you should seek out a local who has one and will let you jump it, or make you a road trip to one of the boogies where there are PC's to jump. If you want to come out (to the wide open space for miles around midwest) here @ Skydive Wayne County in Richmond In. there are a few jumpers who have, 1 or 2 rigs you could get trained on and jump. Rounds are a blast to jump.
  2. It really comes down to what are you willing to pay for it? Many people think that their old crap is now worth a bunch of money, when in fact it's not. I just got a VERY nice stylemaster HC and wart for 50 bucks. (no canopies) That is a reasonable price for what I got. Most of my personal rigs have been put together out of parts I got cheap. 75% of the collection we have at SWC was the DZO's and the other 25% was given to us or picked up for cheap. (shipping) About every two years some oldtimer will show up at the DZ and drop off a pile of old crap for free just to get rid of it. I know ripcord4 on here has had a few ad's on ebay the last few weeks. while I personally think he is asking to much for what he has, I can't blame him for trying to get all he can out of it, because to someone out there it maybe a worth what he is asking for it. Just to much for me to have an interest or most of the other collectors I know. So like I said what is it worth to you to own a part of history? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  6. You shouldn't have had to ask that question, it should have been in the FJC! So your statement tells me, 1. you were sleeping in class or just not paying attention. Or 2. You instructor just sucked over all and didn't provide the information he should have. IMHO you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Only if you do it right, ever try and stop a full speed sprint down the side of a mountain with a canopy over your head that won't produce lift? LOL, I have. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. Search Ebay. If your referring to my post to Wendy, she asked about a Digital Mixer, not an analog board. If you search ebay for videonics, you will find some basic and cheap mixers as well as the MX-1, MX-1 pro, MX-1 Pro DV. There are other brands out there as well. However one thing you might want to think about, if you editing on your cam, you could just get one of the videonics (or other brand) titler boards that has the built in sound mixer. This would let you add titles and mix the sound then fade to a blank title. (black screen) You should be able to find one of the titler boards cheap. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Well we can always dust off a real old school DBSL, or better yet dig out a S/L with four pins, I know I got one laying around. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. You could put the fourth jump on this pristine one. (see attachment) It's the real deal, pioneer sport 4 pin, set up for FF but could S/L real easy. This what you looking for? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. Videonics "MX-1 pro DV" firewire input and output. Search ebay, only the pro DV has the firewire ports. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. ***I'm curious. Is there a reason that you feel that you must be anonymous to this group ? *** From what I understand it is because of being flamed on the fourms for getting a coach rating with the bare requirements needed to get the rating. Kyle is a heads up young jumper and worked his ass off in one season to get his "A" and his coach rating. He earned it by doing the work!
  13. If you don't have some fear in you, then there is something wrong with you! Fear will keep you from complacency, and complancency has killed more then one skydiver before. So as others have said, pack up your overnite bag and cooler of good stuff and get out there to hang out and most of all have fun. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. You almost have to do it that way, because everyone learns at a different pace, I have seen very few people nail all of their students jumps without repeats, no matter what trainning method their using. As a side note, I'm a cameraman #1, (AFF-I, SL-I,IAD-I) I think forcing someone to have outside video on all jumps is being greedy, while I might like to make "my raman money" that day, I used to be a student too once, on a tight buget. That would have kept me on the ground instead of skydiving, the cost is high enough for students today without forcing them to pay more for outside video on every level. Most of our students are collage kids, and they already can't afford the extra for video and stills on level one, let alone pay the extra cost for video on every level, if we tried to do that we would lose a huge number of students to the cost factor. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Well said, while I have never met him face to face, in our talks, and things his has sent to me and others I know, he is a top notch dude for sure. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Really, care to share with us just where this tidbit of info is so we can read it for our selfs. My thought is, I call BS on that statement! Go do AFF if that is what you want to do, it is a good program as long as it's not at the DZ that would say as posted above. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. You better, cuz once the temp hit's 45 outside, my ass is heading south till spring thaw. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Maybe they were too busy trying to find out what the loud ass buzzer sound was from and forgot. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  20. Well Dave, if you want to drive a few more miles to the west,(Richmond In) I'll be happy to jump with you and work on anything you might want to work on. Ball is in your court. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. I didn't say he wasn't around, just laying low these days. Also I seen have more of the wannabee "this guy" crawl out from under a rock as soon a pretty face sets foot on a DZ, becareful and don't be fool by a wannabee "this guy" who is really "that guy" and only trying to get in your shorts. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. First let me say that "this guy" you all talk about, is seldom seen these days in the sport, yes their still out there, but just not as many as in the past. IMHO. I replyed to NWflyer, because she brings up a great point. At this years Richmond boogie, I had a student who came up through the program and was ready for the coach jumps. After I JM'ed his low solo, I told him to he needed to look up one of the low timer LO's and get on a skill building 2 or 3 way MAX!, And to go have some fun, I sent him on his way to the manifest tent where the lowtimer LO's were, and off he went. Now the only reason I didn't take him up myself, is because I was on a dive already foe someones 500th jump flying video & stills. So we dirt dive and head out to the loading/manifest tent about 20 minutes later (after talking to student) when we get to the tent and are dirt diving the last time, I look over and see "the student" in a dirt dive with 8 others and their dirt diving multi points. About the same time the S&TA of the dz sees it too, and came over to ask me about him. (student) Well I had to walk over to the group and tell them, sorry but this guy has no business being on a 9 way mulit point dive and in no way was I going to let this guy go with them on the dive. However if someone was an "I" and wanted to take him on a 2 or 3 way that ways fine, but 9 way multi point dive, NO WAY! Well everyone on the dive was cool, and I think glad to have someone step up to the plate and tell them how it was. While the new guy on the other hand, was, well let just say " I rained on his parade". He wasn't a dick about it ,but not happy as well. If anyone here knows "naked larry" he can tell you it happened, he was LO'ing the dive. No one wants to be the dickhead, but sometimes you have to put your foot down and look out for others around you, who may not know or don't know any better. I hated to have to walk up and tell 9 skydivers the dive they worked out is out of the question and not going to happen as planed. But sometimes doing the right thing is hard to do, but it must be done. No one gave me any shit for it, the up jumpers thanked me and understood, in the end it all worked out, the "student" made a simple two way and the rest of them did their thing, just two less then before. "That guy" today is still around in the sport, but you have to look a little harded to find them today. Too many of todays jumpers are all about them selfs and what they want to do and don't have the time to spend taking the time to work with the young ones, unless you have a rating then that is all you do for the most part. (read busy) I see a lot of people get their "A" and then do solo after solo, because no one will jump with them, or two or three of them get together and try something with out knowing what their really doing. So people if we want to grow this sport and keep people jumping more of us need to step up and be "THAT GUY"! Because "that guy" can't do it by him self, it takes a village to raise an idiot, and "that guy" may be getting tired of carring the load, so step up to the plate and take a turn a bat folks, it takes everyone to make this sport grow and remain as safe/fun as it can be. stay safe out there. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Here is two with a sigma 20mm fixed. I'm at the back of the door (otter) NOT on the camera step. And one in a cessna 182, with the passanger right in front of me appx 3 feet or less. Edit to add exit from step of 182. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. Paint um like the 182 in fandango. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. Yes and no, I have had error codes before and by taking off the batt, it clears and resets the cam. But never had an issue with a view finder problem other then bumping the focus knob to make it out of focus. Anytime you get an error code try removing the batt, first. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
