  1. Only if you stood there and watched it get packed. But MOST riggers really do the work and don't just go around pencil whip'n rigs, jumpers on the other hand do, so your more likely to find this with borrowed gear not rental rigs. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. uncool canopy, unmodern, not hip, out of fashion. Wow you still jump a 120 sabre 1, you got to get hip and get ya one of those 86 ft x-braced hankies so you can be one of the bu-tee-ful people. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  10. Yep, that is part of the fun of being an old school hard copy logbooker, I have many low "D" and GW numbers in my books. And the newbies always get a kick out of being asked to sign it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. I never sign my own jumps, I know to many people who make up shit and fudge their numbers to impress others. and besides other people enjoy writing crap in my books. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Dude I can respect your point of view, but you need to use a little more tact and be the bigger person, and even by doing so you won't win the battle, it's his DZ, his plane, his people, his rules. If you don't like it cut your loss and move on, because pissing into the wind only get's you wet! For this seems petty and to rase hell with USPA over this is crossing the line IMO, again move on and vote with your money else where, it's that simple. Your right you shouldn't have a DZ employee being rude to you. But is it not true that you have been asked more then once to pull higher??? If so you don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to winning this, it is,his employees, his place, his plane, his rules and his right to have any rule above and beyond what the BSR's say, and that is his right as the owner. You have put way more time and energy into this then 95% of unhappy customers would waste the time to do, most would "get it over it and move on" and not return. You have made your points and said what you thought about it, let it go, find some place you feel your treated the way you would like to be or start your DZ and make your own rules, jumper your own plane, hire and fire your employees, dump as low as you want anytime you want. I was with you for a while but the more you carry on, the more you lose those who would side with you IMO. You can reply if you want, but don't count on a reply back this thread has run it's course and your looking more and more like a little kid who didn't get his way, sorry dude, but that is how I see it. Good nite and good luck, I'm done here. (going to bed with flame retardant jams'on) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. My best wishes to you both, thanks for the news. Get well soon SC. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. Gee wiz, most every place I have ever jumped would give you a ride FREE if your a regular there, and as long as there is room and it wasn't abused. For gods sake YTF would you be charged more then a slot as a jumper for a ride., this has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. What if you decide not to jump, or there is a problem with your rig, do get asked to pay for another slot. I guess I'm lucky and have never been asked to pay for a ride, even when I offer to do, I have always been told to just get on, then again most of those DZO's have been in the biz for 30 some years. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Keep jumping my old sport death rigs and scare'n the crap out of the kids... oh yea and pulling low too you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. I understand, sounds like we have a lot in common. It is sad to see these things happen today. I have been lucky and not had any of my stuff "get lost". you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Did you just wake up from a coma or something, them days have been gone a long time, sadly.... I think it may have to do with 'mainstreaming". you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Yea and waving off is to tell those in the landing area to clear out... To- Mr. Nardi, thanks for the chime in and offering your side of the story. Me think this thread has run it's course. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. I don't really agree with ya here, and I know you have been around long enough to know good and well what deployment at a 1000 ft or lower looks like. Anyone who has been in this sport for a long time can spot a truly low deployment. I would agree with you that it's some what harded to tell between 3k and 2.5 or 2k, hell even opening a 2k can look like 1.5, even more so to the many of todays jumpers who are so use to seeing everyone open at 3 and above, so when a jumper opens a container at 2 and gets a canopy at 1.5 it freaks a lot of them out and looks lower. I have seen many a low deployment in my time and it was rather clear it was. If I can count your fingers without my glasses on your LOW... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. I guess it would depend on where you go to visit and who you ask these days, everyones taste is different, I would hope that if you visit anywhere in the USA that you would find friendly DZO's and boogie host's and fellow jumpers who are glad you stop by to share the sky with them, invite you on loads even if your a newbie or no one knows you, show you a good time and have some laughs over a cold one at the end of the day, all the while your personal belongings are sitting unattended in your gear bag in the hanger or clubhouse, and when you pass out on the packing table or in a pile of unpacked canopies for the night, when you get up in the morning all your shit is still there and not found a new home, and when your time to visit has ran out those un-used lift tickets that didn't get ripped off will be gladly refunded to you with a smile and a "thanks for the visit hope to see you again"..... As for pulling low, I guess it depends on what you consider "low", if it was low enough someone like Scotty Carbone is ragging on your ass or you fire a cypres,or for that matter I rag on your ass then your fucking LOW! Hey I could care less if you want to smoke it down into the basement (to a point) but if you going to do so better have your shit together ! Have I ever been way in the basement, yep, didn't I get an ass chewing, few times, have I had two "D" license holders swear up and down I deployed a 1200 ft. when if fact I got out at 3.5 and pulled the ripcord at 2k with a retro rig without pack opening bands, so you had to give a good "check" and some elbow, YEP, was I open close to 1400 to 1500 ft, yep, but pack opening was at 2k. did I bust a BSR, nope! Did the S&TA meet me in the landing area, no but he did ask me where I "pulled" not where I opened after the two kept bitchen about it, yes he did, guess what? end of story, no ass chewing that time. But the time I did deploy at 1200ft is another story. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. Ah yes I also heard of some understanding and cool locals who bought tickets up from the out of state visitors, kudos to you and the rest who helped out. That is what the sport should be about, a "hood" bortherhood and sisterhood, jumpers looking out for other jumpers and willing to lend a helping hand to a member of the hood. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
