I'm saying I stay up because of the speed. With properly tuned equiptment you don't need extra fabric.

Flying alone ( regardless of discipline ) makes it really hard to get definitive analysis of the things that are happening. Eloy was rewarding for you not just because wingsuits are such a blast but also from the fact of the group environtment you got to experience it in. Some poor bastards don't have a choice and are forced into 100s of WS solo jumps. I'm not advocating not doing solos but Ed is right try and get out with other people doing the same thing. I know Joe from Mequite takes a trip down south now and then. Or take a trip over the hill to Lodi. Maybe taft has absorbed some of the former Calcity flock, dunno. Couple more weekends in group therapy might answer all of your questions before they become questions. This will be a great year to be active in getting out to wingsuit events.

it has a slider on it. and i have put a d-bag and kill line p/c that it fits in on for now. till i learn how to negotiate with this thing. AR-7s have a nasty rep for some of the harshist openings. You may want to keep it in a d-bag for a while before trying the tail pocket. There is a percentage of Dawgs that don't use the tail pocket and like a bag. I personally like it better for longer delays.

I'm sure Glen can tell us all about working hard to stay up in his earlier career as an actor. I can see why the market inspired this suit. It comes down to slow float, which I'm not addicted to otherwise I would just live in the tunnel. If you are that heavy we understand. And as a plus it has a real wing cut away system. Staying up is fine, if thats your thing, I like to go places. I like speed! "Keep the speed." -Robi Yeah -what he said.

For a moment there, I thought you were about to say Billvon would be jumping with us. He should and I hope he does.

At least a 180 gives you a chance to see them coming so you can dodge – something a 90 doesn’t. You cant see them coming unless you have an eye on the top of your head. You are coming out of turn your bank angle is steep and your pitch is head low ( don't tell me you learned to do flat turns in a wingsuit from reading the canopy forum ). Try to do a brisk 180 and keep your eyes 20-30 degrees above the horizon scanning for traffic during the turn. They may not see you because they have their head tucked down back arched for super glide to catch the formation. The straggler might be tired and be coming down at you in a poor 45 degree glide angle because they're tired. You will never see that, your only chance is to be ahead of them vectoring out and away. 180s are just bad.

I'm very interested in the wing cutaway system and how it works with the wing inflation.

Exactly what I was thinking. It would take alot more discipline though. Ed I assume that those teams have a key or lead tracker they follow out on the initial?

Anyone want to see what a $7000 t-shirt looks like?
VectorBoy replied to diablopilot's topic in The Bonfire
Actually, my CFI said not that many people are interested in the tradition anymore. I've noticed the same thing about the "bottle" after a reserve ride. Who's training these new jumpers anyway? I soloed 25 years ago and the school didn't care about the shirt either ( brought an extra ). I was going to get my rigger a bottle but he stopped drinking- so he said get him a coffee ( he meant just a cup ) not a bag as he didn't own a coffee machine. Good riggers just aren't making enough to stick around. Why $7000? You pay up the entire course? A good way to go without interruptions BTW. Normally a solo is just a few hundred smackers into it. Great way to keep you hooked through the rest of it.
