  1. I dint usually speak poorly of anyone or any DZ but today I am mad. My cousin started AFF at sebastian, for personal reasons he had to stop for a while. He when he left he was told by the DZ that he had 400.00 on his account. A few months ago he decided he would come to Deland and finish his AFF, he called sebastian because he was going to pick up his cash on the way to Deland. They told him he only had 180.00 dollars on his account ( I was present when he mad this phone call). BUT couldn't explain why there was a difference in what he was previously told...something about a new computer system and that the old records we not available. He didn't get to stop by on his way up because the DZ was already closed when he drove through town. Today, we we at Titusville. He said "hey I think Ill stop by Sebastian and pick up my cash on my way back home" He call the DZ to make sure they were going to have the cash and that there was no problem with him comming to get it. He was informed "you don't have any money left on your account" The note in the computer shows you picked it up. I know for a fact that he never picked his money up. SO can someone explain to me how he went from 400.00 to 180.00 to NO dollars without ever steping foot on the DZ??? Yes I think he was a dumb ass for not taking his cash off the DZ when he left, but his being unable to return to finish AFF was something beyond his control and he did not know he would not be back there for a while. I like Sebastian, I'll go back and jump there again BUT I'll damn sure not leave .02 on my account. Somebody seems to be doing something there, and its pissed me off.
  2. Its kind of funny, each of the post above indicate that you need to "say your sorry and do something nice" Why does it seem its always the mans responibility it "make things right again" regardless of the reason for the fight, you and your girlfriend are entilted to your opinions. You BOTH need to respect eachother and some times that means agreeing to disagree. If she can respect your opinion and your right to voice your opinion you should fire her. One the other had you need to respect her, if your acting like an asshat eventually, shell fire you. Good luck and dont piss on any electrical wires
  3. I've had packers dicover 2 small holes in my canopy on seperate occasions, they are nothing to stress over and yes you can jump the canopy as long as the tears are small. You should take the canopy in to a rigger to have the holes patched. Someone I trust told me DO NOT let anyone put rip stop on the canopy if you are going to have the holes patched. Hope this helps!
  4. I must agree, the boggie was alot of fun! I was there filming one of the sweedish 4 way teams so I didnt get to do much "fun" jumping. I did however get to meet some really cool people (hi Sonny and her better .05); in addition to jumping the helo. Thats something everyone should try at least once!
  5. I jumped from the Helo this past weekend in Titusville. I must say it kicks ass! also shot some cool video of a friend of mine on the same jump COOL!
  6. I think could be a controversial issue. The DZ has a set price they charge a customer and a set rate they pay their staff. If you go to the DZ and ask for them to arrange someone to shoot your video, they are going to charge their price and pay the person who shoots the video their agreed upon rate for the service. From what I read, you feel the DZ should charge a regular fun jumper less for their video than they would a tandem. (STRICTLY PLAYING DEVILS ADVOCATE HERE) why should they? they, and the person shooting the video are providing you the same service they provide a tandem customer. Why then, other than the fact that you are a regular customer, should they charge any less; and who is to take the loss for the reduction in charge, the DZ who is arranging the service, The staff member who shoots the video or both? Although I do think its kind of wrong for your DZ not to tell you how much they were going to charge you for a service before rendering said service I think they have the right to charge their standard rate. What most people do is go directly to someone who shoots video and makes and agreement as to cost (usually much cheaper than what the DZ charges) Which brings up another point I would wonder about. Does the DZ have the right to tell a staff member who is not working but is at the DZ for they day that they cannot be paid privately to shoot a video? OR does the DZ have the right to tell someone who is not employed by the DZ that they cannot be paid privately to shoot a video for someone? I guess if you really think about it, everytime someone with a camera goes up and shoots a video for someone the DZ could feel that they are loosing money because the DZ offers the service. Okay Ive gone on long enough.
  7. Quade, how do you have it mounted, There is a guy out of Deland, Wes, he makes custom helmets and hardware. Anyway he makes a ringsite mount that allows you to push the ringsite horzontally when its not in use. Its really nice and easy to use. If your intrested let me know Ill get you his phone # I dont think his web site is up yet
  8. If your comming to Titusville after the 28, they should be busy for at least the next 2 weeks there are three thems comming in from sweeden to train there, so Titusville should be putting loads up. Delands a great DZ but its been slow the last couple of weeks as far as fun jumpers go. I'd love to get together and do some RW with you two but Im going to be shooting video for one of the four way teams in Titusville. Either way have fun!
  9. some folks have taken a small drill bit or dremmel tool and drilled a whole in the door large enough for the plug to fit through. May work for you

  18. I had an old racer and I had some mods done to it too. Contact Nancy at racer, there not very expensive. I had the velcro replaced, I had the "walrus Teeth" made stronger and I had Ghee flaps installed for better riser protection. You can have tuck tabs installed totalled doing away with the velcro but its a bit expensive. good luck enjoy it, theres nothing wrong with your container
  19. I'm glad you asked that, I am getting ready to go back to school so I thought I'd by a lap top that I could use for school and to do editing with, something with a fast processor and a DVD burner.... Ill be following this thread. Thanks
  20. I just got premiere 6.5 from a friend of mine. Seems like a great program, I installed in and even got it to play some of the video from my PC100. It seems like a great program but ALOT to learn. Does anyone know of any good books that explain how to use it in simple terms. I have no experience in video editing so this all seems pretty advanced to me, thanks for any help
  21. most employers, or potential employers, contract with an information gathering company to do pre-employment criminal background checks and credit checks. These investigative companies pull the aforementioned information in two ways, first off they pull your credit report from the three major credit reference companies next they access the FBI public records data base to see if you have been assigned and FBI number (anyone with a criminal history is assigned and FBI number) they then pull a criminal history from the public records data base. My suggestion to you is this, contact a local company that claims to do "preemployment background checks" it might cost you 50 or 100 bucks but have them do one on you to see what shows up in your criminal history file. PERSONALLY, unless your'e applying for a job in govt. or law enforcement, if it doesnt show up on your background check I wouldn't disclose it on my application good luck
