The error 99 code is a generic code used when something abnormal happens which is not covered in the manual. Cannons recommended response to the error 99 code is to shut the camera off and remove the battery; reinstall the battery and see if the error clears. SOME people have stated this error may be resulting from a lens that has pissed the camera off. Try removing and replacing the battery and see if you have better luck.

I think its bad practice to lurk a tandem video and then try to sell it. people dont have the "right" to lurk a tandem for pratice its up to the DZO and the TM. I too think the solution is quiet simple, if a new camrea flyer lurks the tandem, upon landing the TM, the new camera flyer and maybe, a staff video should take a quick few minutes to watch the video. This would be a good time for pointers and improvement after that, if its good enough to show the customer, then show them, if at that point the customer wants to buy the video, the can go through the consession and buy it at the regular price and the rookie camera flyer should be paid the regular rate. this way everybody makes out okay. I dont think its right for a rookie camera flyer to try to sell a video of a tandem behind the staffs back, in the end its just going to cause problems and if your trying to get on staff in any position its bad to cause problems.

Mounting the PC330 to an Optic with a BH box, Help
freefalle replied to sarge's topic in Photography and Video
first, the strap, gotta pair of cutting dykes, its gone, second, make a piece of 2 sided tape put it over the hole for the tripod screw on the camera then put the camera in the box press it down frimly so the tape will stick to the D-box then remove the camera. The inside of the D-box will be marked with the piece of tape and the camera will be out of the way to drill the box. Im sure you know, make sure the camera is no where near anything that your drilling to prevent shit getting in the camera. I hope that helps any questions drop me a MP -
CF cards and the digital rebel BE CAREFUL
freefalle replied to freefalle's topic in Photography and Video
when I purchased my 300D, the sales person warned me "be careful when inserting the CF card as the pins in the camera bend easily." Its a known issue, something about the fact that the slot will also fit a micro-drive. I was as careful as I thought I could be, but I recently bent the pins. I took it to an authorized repair center in Daytona Beach to have it fixed. THANK GOD I had the extended warranty. The repair cost to replace the board with the pins was 450.00. It only took 1 week to get it fixed. The same thing happened to Scary Perry but he had to send his off to Cannon to have it repaired because at the time there were no outside service centers I think it took him 6 weeks to get his camera back. Anyway I just thought Id share this info as an FYI. -
I have taken some really good digital stills lately, Id like to do somethings with them but I dont want them stolen or used without my consent. Ive seen photos on the web before that have the word PROOF transparently placed acroos them. How do you do this, is it possible to do it in photoshop?

I don't own a Rawa helmet however, Ive had the chance to get my hand on more than a few of them, they are kick ass helmets, He makes a good product.

I recommend Titusville as well, great people who are always willing to make the 4 way a 5 or more way. There hit and miss during the week though so make sure you call first. Deland is okay too and they are getting loads up however sometimes during the week its a bit slow.

At the dropzone I frequent you would be required to sit through a short ground review. You would then go with an instructor and complete a clearance jump. After that your back on your own.....

Ive had the same problem with mine more than once

bet you won't do that again. Glad you're okay -
poised exits take time to learn, dont beat yourself up they will come with time. In the mean time jusst relax and pratice as much as you can remember to present yourself into the wind the best you can and relax.

I too agree with the masses, If I was a customer and you told me I couldn't get a video of my first tandem and had to wait until my second, I would feel like you were trying to pressure me into spending more money, thats not right. I believe the people who are going to come back for more; wether it be tandems or AFF are going to return regardless of wether or not they have video, Ive had several people tell me although the enjoyed their tandem, there is NFW they were ever going to do it again, its not fair to deny them the memories encased in their video.....

I personally dont think it matters what kind of flying you are doing, the assurance of knowing your camera is turned on is worth the money for a cam eye. JMHO it beats asking the guy next to you hey is this thing on or screwing around with a mirror to look for that little red light on your camera. The first time you miss the video of that kick ass skydive because your camera wasn't on youll wish you spent the damn 55.00 for the cam eye. But thats just what I think.

him, him, @uck him happy birthday dude

Boston/Providence Skydive center in the news again
freefalle replied to mailin's topic in Safety and Training
She flew into the prop because SHE disregarded saftey procedures and the SHE sued the DZ???? did I read that right? Did she win her law suit? Sounds to be like her mother should have swallowed her. -
using the 1.6 conversion factor would seem to make the 24mm lens kind of impratical for skydiving, Im not really sure I know what the hell Im talking abouut though.I was shooting with a 24 on my 35mm abnd It worked great but I had to drop down to a 19 mm when I transitioned to a digital camera.
