ya kbnow what causes me some concern. A couple of days ago, I was at the DZ, I was listening to a guy with about 75 jumps; lets call him tom to avoid embarassment. He was talking to a newer skydiver with less than 20 jumps, lets call her julie because I forget her name. Tom was acting like hes a skygod with 10,000 jumps, some of the information he was giving Julie although almost right, was incorrect. My bigger concern was their safety, as the were planing a jump together. I've been in the air with him before, hes not bad for his skill level and has potential to do well, but hes really not at a level where he should be attempting to "coach" a new skydiver. I didn't and still don't really feel its my place to correct him, but I did speak to one of the another guys at the DZ and voiced my concers about this guys attitude, he told me, that I wasn't the first one to notice this and that Tom has been talked to before, however he refuses to check himself. He usually presents this behavior with newer female skydivers who Im assuming he's attempting to impress. Now, by no means am I s skygod with 340 jumps, but Im competient for my skill level. Rather than just dismiss this incident, I went to Tom and Julie and offered to work with them a bit and even video their jump for review purposes, at no cost to them, just trying to be nice and maybe keep them safe. Although, Julie was intrested, Tom quickly refused my offer stating "she doesnt have enough jumps to be on video and I just dont think its a good idea Ill work with her and she'll be fine." At first, I though well maybe Im just being sensitive because they refused my help but the more I thought about it the less that is the case. It t just concerns me to see someone attempting a skydive that there really not ready to be doing. Oh well, any thoughts

they serve no practical function other than appearance. In addition, they are illegal for street use in most states during hours of darkness

rental gear is not a bad way to start until you can find something that suits you. Just like any rig your going to strap on, inspect it like your AFF instructor showed you. Depending on the DZ your jumping at the rig rental will vary; I jump in Deland I think the rental rate is 25.00 a jump unless you make 3 or more than its 65.00 for the day plus pack jobs. dont rush buying gear, be safe

I havent seen any either, Id guess they would be a little hard to get. It would be cool if someone had some to look at though I think a you could learn alot by watching one. They have trainning camps for everything else, someone should come up with one for people wantting to learn to fly camera.

okay heres what I did. I transfered the video from my PC 100 to my computer using windows movie maker ( I have preimer 6.5 but I havent really had time to sit and figure it out yet; which is why I used window movie maker). Next I edited it (I added transitions and music) I then used Roxio to burn the completed project to DVD. The problem Im having now is when I play the DVD in a regular DVD player its kind of "jerky" in some parts, especially when theres fast movement like exits, deployments etc. Any idea whats causing this and how to make it go away. Its enough to piss off the pope! thanks

I like Wes's Helmets they are a good investment, however I dont have the 1300.00 base price, I ordered a FTP because its what I can afford. Although, when it arrives, Ill be taking it to Wes to mount and allign everything, his stuff is expensive but its good.

Im not sure it will meet your needs but when I was in Titusville filming for the Sweedish team, we used a VCR that was able to imput in NTSC but recorded it to the tape in PAL if thats something your intrested in finding out more about let me know and Ill get the information off of it next time Im there.

I did a search on here but came up empty handed. I've got a chance to buy a TRV38 for 350.00 I dont know that much about the camera and would like some info. Is it worth the price? its supposed to be in good condition, Ill see it before I pay for it so Ill know for sure then Has anybody used this camera, if I get it Im going to mount it on a FTP and opinions would be appreicated.

Just curious to see what is popular out there. Im using a PC100 video a digital cannon for still using the stock 18-55 lens that came with it and for 35mm Im using the cannon rebel with a 28mm lens Im looking for a 2nd video cam to use as a back up but I haven't decided what to get yet,,,Im looking for something used For a Helmet, Im using a hawkeye but only until my Flat Top Pro arrives

just my opinion, IF you can afford a Wes helmet buy it, its a great helmet. If that a bit more than you want to spend, go with the Flat Top Pro. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago. I cant wait for it to get here!

The helmets at RImworld are mad by Wes Rich. They are amazing. Light and strong. His helemts start at about 1300.00 and go up from there but its the last helmet youll need to buy. He also sells accessories to set up helemts by other manufactures very nice stuff. If your ever in Deland ask where his shop is and just drop by, hes a great guy and alot of fun just to sit and talk with. P.S. I agree with the aformentioned post, try another 150- 200 jumps before you strap a helmet to your pumpkin.

you can use Wisk and A brush, A friend of mine got ALOT of blood on a reserve during an incident, I took it to Terry Pyke, a local rigger in deland and he got every bit of it out. Im pretty sure he used wisk. If you want drop me a PM and Ill give you his # you can ask him directly.

Im trying to set up a computer for my Sons heres the problem, It had windows 98 on it, there was apparently a BUNCH of crap on the hard drive and it was running like crap. So I reinstalled windows 98 It apparently reinstalled okay with the exception of the fact that I can not get it to switch to 256 colors when I go to control pannel, display, and advanced the 16 colors is the only thing that appears in the drop down menu Ive been told it appears the driver is missing for 256 color. Does anyone know what the problem is or where I can get the driver, I obviously dont have it on the windows 98 CD Ive installed. Something else that strange though I tried the reinstalltwice using 2 seperate windows 98 CDs and have had the same problem with both the CDs any suggestions?? Thanks

I broke down and bought the digital rebel and I must say I am happy with it. I want to add it to my helmet and start jumping with it but Id like some advise on a lens. Im using a .5 on my PC100 and Ive been using a 28 on my 35mm still. I was looking for a fixed 17 mm figuring the 1.6 conversion would give me close to a 28. However it doesnt seem like anyone makes one. I've heard of the fixed 15 and people seem to be happy with that. Any advise??? thanks

Then Good customer service and proper ettiquette would require them going out of their way to find the missing money. Im not saying anyone STOLE his money, lisa PLEASE understand that, I AM however saying his money is missing and he was basically told "sorry there is nothing we can do about it" If a vendor lost money that was given to them by Skydive Sebastian, skydive Sebastian would damn sure want something done about it.

Lisa Im not really sure who he talked to today I'd have to ask him I know he said her name. I know he didn't pick it up because he lives out of town and hasn't been back with the exceptions of today and a few months ago. He put cash on the account so he doesn't have a reciept. your right the DZ is not a bank and chuckle head sould have taken his money with him but the fact is he didn't. The DZ should be able to pull up the records of his payment and exactly how much he was charged. Either way who took the cash off of his account? somethings not right about all that.
