I like the new cut away system on the new Flat top narrow. What Im wondering though is am I going to have to buy a new box for my PC 100 Ive currently got a Hawkeye with a side mount in a the metal camera "box" the camera is held in place by a thumb screw. I dont think it will work for the top mount because Im not sure how to secure it to the helmet. Any thoughts???? Sorry if I sound like I dont know what the hell Im talking about. Its just gonna kinda suck 650.00 for the helmet another 170 for the new D-box 55.00 for a new cam eye that alot of cash... but I really like that damn helmet.

Im sure the guy is sorry he couldnt make his production dead line but I think a simple hey Im sorry and Im trying would suffice, his harsh angry words toss out bad vibes. Maybe in the future he might not take peoples cash until he can deliever the product. People might not be so pissed off about not getting something if they havent already payed for it. Okay Ive looked and cant find a the answer, how do you figure out wing loading and where do you find the max or recommended wing loading for a canopy IE a pd 193 reserve? I know, this should be basic but I want to make sure what I think is correct thanks

Anybody taken a serious look at the new racer containers? They look pretty good, virtually no velcro nice tuck tabs and good pin protection. Thoughts? do you still think there not freefly friendly? Im looking for opinions. The price is right.

How many people use them, are they benifical? Im just getting ready to start doing video Im going to take it slow, learn to fly the video camera first and then add the still. Im probably going to be taking mostly RW video and a little free fly. would a camera suit be a good idea? Im 6'3 and about 220 lbs. Many of the people I jump with are alot smaller than I am, I can control my fall rate pretty well but some times its tough with smaller folks. How hard is it to learn to fly a camera suit. Ive already talked to one of the video guys at the DX and he said hed give me some coaching jumps. Im considering putting the helmet in the closet and just jumping the cam suit for a while unitl I get comfortable with it. I know I ask alot of questions but this is something I really want to do well. I appreicate the advise.

Ive dealt with situations like this before, and I can give you some good advise. Im a police officer in Florida but the laws regarding domestic situations are pretty much the same in most states. The next time he contacts you in a threatening manner, first thing you need to do is contact your local law enforcement agency, dont ask, DEMAND, an information report be completed. There are alot of lazy cops out there who will give you a million reasons why you dont need a report completed, dont buy it. if they refuse to do the report call their supervisor. The next day, that day if possible, go to the court house and get a restraining order against him, a restraining order may be called a no contact order or a protection order where you are, but you get the point. Does he have visitation with youre child, if so, request the judge to modify the visitations, make them supervised (if you feel he may try to keep the baby as a form of retalation for the restraining order) EVERY TIME he violates the restraining order you need to contact the police and have another report completed, if they will let you (and they should) tell them you want to complete a complaint affidavit against him once the affidavit is signed the state can/will seek a warrant for his arrest. I have seen on many cases when the threats escalate to acts of violence because they were allowed to continue. Do SOMETHING to protect yourself and your child. Chances are the situation will not take care of its self if you need anymore sugestions PM me Ill give you what advise I can. WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG

okay time to vent. Got the entire helmet put together with a little bit of work and some advise from the masses here it came out pretty damn good (thanks) anyway Im trying to sight in the ring site, its a brent findley cross hair. I tried looking at a point on the wall with the cam hooked up to the TV for some reason I can get the point Im looking at lined up okay but when I put something else in the cross hair its not centered on the screen, any thoughts ideas suggestions Im getting a little frustrated

okay cam gods and computer guerus. I have above average computer skills and basic understanding of hardware and software so this shouldnt be too complicated for me, but it seems to be. I have a PC100, I understand people use a "firewire" to connect this cam to their computer and from what I gather, once that connection is made you can bring up software to edit the video and save it to a DVD. is this assumption correct? If so can ya help me out with some questions or a direction to find the answers. 1. where do I get a firewire? 2 what is a good editing software and why do you think its good ( I know the answer to that question may vary but Id like to make an informed decision) 3. Ive heard that not all dvds will play in all dvd players. That being the case what should I look for when buying a dvd burner 4. Im looking at buying a new laptop within the next week or two, what should I look for when buying this laptop as far as hardware thats best suited for video editing as most of the video editing will be done from the lap top thanks as always for your thoughts and advice.

ok the helmet is a hawkeye the video camera is a pc100 mounted on the left side of the helmet the cam eye is installed (pretty damn proud of the job too) the ring site is on its way (brent findley cross hair) the still camera is going to be a cannon Rebel. all that being said forgive me for my ignorance and help me. How do I install the ring site so that Im shooting a frame without cutting anybody out. who makes a mount for the cannon I'm obviously planning on mounting it to the top of the helmet. how do I mount the cannon so that what im looking at in the ring site is what is in the frame of the video camera as well as the still? Im sure these questions might be stupid but Id figure Id ask before I go poking holes in my helmet and screwing it up Ive always gotten good advise here, thanks in advance

Guys, Im trying to find a neat and clean way to install my cam eye on a hawk eye helmet, I remember reading on here some place about some one taking theres apart and installing it with the button protruding out a drilled hole, Ive searched but cant find it, can anybody give me sone direction??? thanks

if you can, come up to Deland for a couple of days, they have a great canopy control class and a real reasonable price call skydive deland 386 738 3539 Vladi is one of the instructors and I think Scott is the other the price is around 30.00 per jump including instruction and video. I dont know what your schedule is but you could do it over a weekend. I think it will help alot good luck

Okay,,, after spending alot of time online looking at the different containers out there Im going to post the question. Im putting some thought into what I want to get for my new container and I think Ive narrowed the choices down to the Dolphin and the javalin Im kind of leaning more to the Dolphin because of the price, my budget is kinda tight, Dolphins seem to be rather plain looking rigs, which is fine for me because Im more concerned about fit and function. Im 6'02 and about 220 lbs Im jumping a fairly large canopy (triath 210) Im doing a some RW, some Freeflying and will be doing some video in the future. what is the opinion of the masses? Given my size will I be happy with the Dolphin or should I shell ou the extra cash for the Javalin? is there enough difference between the two rigs to justify the money or are you just paying more because of the name???? thanks for your opinions....

my marriage of 7 years just ended. There were many problems. One of which was my skydiving. I think as many people here have said his issues with your skydiving are a small part of a bigger epidemic. If you love him and you want your marriage to last then find a compromise, see if you can get him to come out to the DZ and hang out, hell, he may even make some new friends. Take a long hard look at yourself, him and your marriage see if its worth saving, if it is do what it takes (within reason) to save it. If its not worth saving, then get out. Skymama said it best, skydiving is rarely the cause of most divorces it just becomes an issue people can pin it on. good luck

Yea your right Derek, the likelyhood of someone screwing with your rig is slim. Some people out at the DZ may not like you for whatever reason but nobody wants to see you put in a situation where you could be hurt or killed, at leat nobody I know of. Ive screwed up a time or two and ended up with a knot someplace I shouldnt have had one, fortunately I or a packer caught my screw up before it became a problem. In your post you eluded to the fact that this is not the first time this has happened. If that is the case, the next time your rig has a problem during your skydive, if you dont end up in a helo or a meat wagon this is what I would suggest. Because you feel this is an on going problem and you feel that someone may be tampering with your rig; when you land take your rig to a semi-secure area Bobs office might be nice, then call Deland PD and advise them of the situation have them come out examine the rig via the assistance of a rigger, get a statement from the rigger as to their findings and have the officer complete a Police Information report. The next thing you may want to do is go to the drop zone section of this web site and look for a new DZ to frequent. Your accusations are serious, inflamatory and unnecessary, by making them you are accusing someone of attempted homicide. If someone intentionally tampers with your rig in a manner that causes serious bodily injury or death that is what the state attorneys office is going to charge them with. I certainly hope you can reach some type of resolve in this matter before the boogie-man get you.

I was talking to Solly this past weekend and he mentioned somthing about the NSL championships being at fantasy of flight. I really dont know much about Fantasy of Flight, is this a regular DZ, other than people involved in the NSL meet is there going to be open skydiving? Will camping be allowed on the property if you want to stay over night? Any information would be appreicated. Im going to go I just want to plan accordingly. thanks
