Looking for aircraft for a Boogie
kingbunky replied to GPorter's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
we have one of fayard's otters in town in july, then it's going to quebec, then i think it's going to ontario... might want to check with him on that one. if you could get in line next that would put you mid-late august. okay, i can picture the queen saying it that way... i guess you have to work the accent in there for it to make sense. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

If you shop for payments, rather than bottomline. $2,900 is still $2,900 no matter how you slice it. Ordinarily ...I'm in a mood...forgive me. no worries, you're forgiven! can i pick at your grammar? what exactly does "I'd not responded" mean? i love mine! it was a $2900 option , but over the life of the car it doesn't add a lot to the monthly payment, and will probably add to the resale. overall, i think it was a good investment. i like the fact that it's built-in. no extra device to take out of the car so it doesn't get swiped. as far as updates go, i was told there are 3 or 4 updates a year available, but they cost about $250CDN. i haven't bothered yet, but before my next road trip i'll probably invest. or find a torrent . i have absolutely no experience with tracking pants, but if you do a search in the BASE forum (i think it was there) for 'smoke pants' you'll find a cheap alternative to manufactured tracking pants. okay, i'll play. i've met a few people from here in real life, but for the most part, i'm probably the biggest post whore that nobody knows. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i recently jumped the deland pac. coming from a cessna dz, i thought it rocked. first load was jammed full, and we didn't have ourselves arranged properly for the exit so we had to climb over each other a bit, but it was certainly better than a cessna. next load had about a dozen on board, very comfy with that load. the last one was just our 4-way with video. spoiled us rotten. no problem with the door, and as far as cabin height goes, when you're used to a cessna, it's no issue. if you're used to an otter, you'll find it low. just dragging up this thread to add my 2 cents worth. myself and two friends recently made the trip from the great white north to florida for some coaching and fun jumps. pete was our coach for three days at the dz and 3 half hours in the tunnel. had a great time, learned a ton. weather kept us on the ground a lot (8 jumps in 3 days), but i still think we more than got our money's worth. the info he gave us on dive planning and flow were very enlightening. on a personal level, i have to agree with everyone here, he's always smiling, always positive. if you ever get an opportunity to work with pete, take it, you won't regret it. i'd think you'd have to be a very experience skydiver to be able to get close enough to the wing to hit it! is there a jumpship in common use where hitting the wing is an issue? the tail maybe.... anyone else 'lean forward' while driving to see better up ahead?
kingbunky replied to loumeinhart's topic in The Bonfire
No, I don't do it, because well, it makes no damn sense. Let me guess, you are also one of those people that turns downt he radio when you park.... i don't turn it down to park, but i do turn it down while i'm trying to read a street sign, or look for an address. everyone does that though, right? ha-ha, me neither. you could go rent 'adrenaline rush, the science of risk'. cool flick, with some science, or at least pseudo-science in it. i wouldn't know the difference. edited to fix the link "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

aerobie aero press. greatest coffee ever! it's cheap, simple, looks kinda like a penis pump, but it works! "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

now that i see that, i remember that our skydive university coach (Pete Allum) had something similar built into the sleeve of his jumpsuit for his neptune. no straps, no buckles, nothing to come loose or snag. very neat. i bought a Protektor to go with mine. i found it hard to see the display through though, so on the advice of another jumper, i cut out the rubber bit over the display. the screen is protected with a sheet of that stuff you get for pda and cell phone screens. works great! the Protektor securely attaches to the wrist strap and even with the cut-out mod i made, i don't think it could fall out. ... and how exactly do you justify over $5,000 per shower? i wonder which town councillor's cousin got the contract. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

isn't he fourth? petty (200) , waltrip (84), earnhardt(76), then gordon(75). he'll be 2nd before he hangs it up, but i don't think anyone can mathmatically catch petty. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i've never met dave, but i think i can get a reaction out of him. while i was in florida last week, i found some shiner bock at a liquor store and thought i'd try it. turns out it's just another generic, watery beer.
