  1. if they had posted some of her pics from the (i think) fhm layout, she'd be winning by a landslide. i gotta wonder why she did that layout, must have cost her a lot of respect as a racer. 2. they had to put her up against danica. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  3. ....but did you hear about the midget clairvoiant that escaped from jail? the headline was "Small Medium at Large" "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  4. didja see the episode of house with the midget (dwarf? i know there's a difference, but can't think of it.) mom and her daughter. house asked her if she wanted to go for a spin. her reaction was priceless. 5. 7740 pounds of canopies, at $10000 a pound to launch it,... $77,400,000.00 per booster? over 150 million dollars just to launch the canopies? that has to be wrong. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  6. yup, it does pop and smtp. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  7. i'm not sure... i'm in new brunswick, so the first time i went to millinocket i crossed at st. stephen/calais and went cross country, the second i just crossed at woodstock/houlton and took i95. it's nice, rural country, no big mountains or anything, but it's all foresty and rolling hills. if you do the millinocket thing, you're right next to baxter state park and mount katahdin (i probably spelled that wrong, but i think i got all the letters in there!) if you're into the hiking/mountain climbing thing. oh, we went with north country rivers. great bunch, never had a problem with them in 3 different outings. 8. white water rafting in millinocket. great fun! if you want to sneak in a jump later, there is a dz there as well, but it's a cessna, mostly tandem operation. you can go south to lebanon to visit skydive new england, they have an otter. once you're there, you can sneak across to new hampshire to visit the tunnel. 9. either he hit the car, or it's a photoshop job. i'm not an expert, so i wouldnt' know the difference. it just doesn't look right. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  10. i don't have an iphone, but i do have and use my ipod touch a lot. it works as advertised, but it's not a laptop replacement. typing long replies on the touchscreen is probably not something you'll want to do, but sending off a quick reply is easy. the keypad works well even with my fat thumbs. the other features are just plain cool. video is sharp, carrying all your favourite pics around to show people is handy. the cover flow ipod is fun to play with as well. all i'm missing is the phone, the internet anywhere and the camera. i'll get an iphone when they're available in canada. also, as of about 15 minutes ago, you can get 16GB iphones and 32GB ipod touches! 11. definitely the ability to snap a still image. i don't fly video (yet) but i think that having one low-profile camera on your head that could do an acceptable job of video and stills would be a great rig. 12. macs are easier, but coming from windows you tend to look for something complicated. case in point, me learning how to install programs on the mac. hated that i had to click on the dmg to mount it before i could run it, and after a reboot, i'd always have to mount the dmg again. then i noticed that when the dmg mounted, there was an icon for the program, and an arrow pointing to the applications folder. click-drag-drop, it's installed. doh. 13. sounds like my old sabre 190. i called it the cotton-candy overcast. you could always see me coming. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  14. he'll need an industrial strength filter to read through all the crap. unless things have changed since the last time i removed myself from it. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  15. Sure it will - you just have to mount the keeper on the Y-strap as it goes past the ear. And be sure to use the bungees to keep that dytter in the keeper and not just rely on the clips at each end... You can do the same on a goggle strap... if you really want to. worked for me for about 4 years. always heard it, never lost it. i mounted the holder to the y straps with zipties, then clipped the dytter in, then reinforced that with a zip tie that could be undone. i only had to take it out to change batteries though, as the controls were accessible while it was mounted. 16. i've seen tandems packed with rubber bands around the steering lines. i think it's actually the rubber band is looped through itself around the shortest (inboard) steering line and the other steering lines are stowed in it, much like stows on a d-bag. keeps them even and in a bunch, supposed to reduce (greatly) the likelihood of a lineover. i have, however, been wrong about stuff before, and i don't pack tandems. 17. there was one there, but maybe someone was just storing it. or it was just the world's biggest wicker basket. or i imagined i saw one behind the biplane and the helicopter. it's been known to happen. good luck with your search, it's an awesome feeling. total silence, no wind, exiting into dead air, actually feeling a 0-120 acceleration instead of 90-120. 18. doesn't cross keys have their own balloon? i saw one in the hanger a couple years ago. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
  19. check out Damn Yankee Balloons. bottom three pics on the page are from last fall in Sussex, NB, and the bottom pic is me! just found out when i went looking for his site. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

  21. the battery can be replaced for $129, about the same as any laptop battery. since the battery will last 5 hours (their number), swapping it out isn't something most people will have to do. as far as the rest of the cons of the machine, you have to look at the target audience, the road warrior. the person who needs to work on spreadsheets or word processing, check email, share docs. it's not for someone who needs serious horsepower, that's why they still make a mac book pro. kinda like an ipod touch is not an ideal ipod for a lot of people, for others, it's the best thing since sliced bread. apple keeps adding products, not replacing them. i hope it works out, because my apple stock has really tanked in the last month. 22. i was in deland last spring, and on one load it was just our 4-way and vidiot. we were 9 minutes from wheels up to exit. i think the climb rate with a light load even surprised the pilot, because we were flying level at altitude for a bit to get to the spot. very cool plane imho. 23. i know what you mean. briggs and techumseh engines seem to run so much rougher. designed in the 50's and not much has changed. hondas just seem so much more.... refined. i had a tiny honda water pump that i used to fill a 1000 gallon tank. lifted the water about 10 feet through 20 feet of hose with hardly any effort. always started on the first pull and ran like a sewing machine. 24. i have a craftsman 11hp, 31" and it works pretty good. a neighbour has a honda, not sure of the size, but the difference is amazing. his looks smaller and you can't hardly hear it, but it throws snow way farther than mine. mine is noisy as hell, is always vibrating bolts loose and seems like it's about to shake itself to pieces. and yes, before someone asks, i do follow all the maintenance procedures in the book and go over it from end to end every season, tightening and adusting. the honda just seems to be better engineered.
