    i noticed (on the spec sheet) under Still Image Recording that the last thing mentioned is Still Recording during Movie (Dual Rec): YES (2.3M, unlimited). does this mean that you can take an unlimited (until you fill up the memory) number of 2.3 M stills while recording video? will a bite/tongue switch through the hype-eye controller work with it?     you could call pd and ask them, or find another sabre 190 and measure theirs, but when i had the same problem (torn slider on a sabre 190), i asked the loft at skydive chicago to order me one. they said they could just make me one. so they did, and it worked fine.     i didn't want to make all the instructors feel old, so i rounded down from my original guess. it was a little crowded while packing at some points, but the good thing about that was you could overhear other people's questions easier. i dropped what i was doing several times to go see how someone else solved the problem, even if i'd seen 3 other people do it already. so much experience to soak up!     thanks to dave for assembling such an awesome bunch of instructors! nothing like having, hmmm, didn't do the math but i'd bet there was over 150 years of rigging experience in the room at any given time. the organization and scheduling of the various classes was outstanding. we never had to wait for an instructor. the equipment we had to work with from our personal tool kits to the sewing machines to the rigs we worked on was first rate. the patience shown by the instructors was amazing! thanks to everyone for a memorable and valuable experience.     so, what exactly is the relationship or lack thereof? bottom line, if i installed a vigil in a 1987 talon, would i be breaking any rules or regulations? i'm curious because my brother bought a vigil, had it installed in his talon, and now the rigger who initially packed it says he can't repack it and shouldn't have packed it in the first place. he was told it was for 'political reasons'. i sent an email to RI but they appear to be closed for the holidays.     i can, but now i don't have to. i bought my very first new car a couple years ago and it came with run-flat tires. no spare, no jack, no wheel wrench, nothing. if i have a complete blow-out, i have to call the dealer for road-side asisstance. that came free for the first 4 years, so far i haven't had to use it.     ...and if that doesn't work, a quick and dirty workaround (i did it with a javelin j4 with a sabre 190 in it) is to cutaway the main, leave it in the dbag and just wrap the bridle around it to keep it together. put the rig (minus main) in your roller bag or whatever, fill the empty space with whatever, and put the main in your other carry-on. a quick re-connection, continuity check and pack at the other end and you're good to go.     i saw them a couple years ago at the rio (i think they're still there). it was a great show! they've probably changed the act some, but when i went there was a whole 'card signing and box inspecting experience' before the show that came into play later, so don't be late. i'd go again.     i had mine out a couple years ago (at 42). while they were at it, the also removed my uvula (sp? that little hangy ball thing at the back of your throat) and some of the flappy thing that keep stuff from going up your nose. hurt like a bastard, but once i figured out they'd give me pain meds pretty much whenever i asked, it was better. after a week or so it was just a sore throat. lost almost 20 pounds too! found it again later though.     yay for chuck's! i like the high tops because they won't fall off in freefall! don't know why, but every time i wear a pair of regular shoes, i come close to losing them. on a semi-related note, we had a freefly coach in to our otter boogie a couple years ago (i think it was steve curtis) who lost a shoe on exit at 13500. it landed next to the packing area, well before he did. how's that for spotting?     we have two sister cats we named Li and Lu, after the Botero sisters in the cirque show zumanity (and also the charachter leeloo in the fifth element). the Botero sisters were hefty gals, but pretty, just like the cats turned out to be. the other thought we had was cagney and lacey. in the end it doesn't matter, because the damn things won't come when you call them anyway.
