if it's anything like me, your doc will lecture you for awhile about diet and exercise, you'll give it a shot, nothing will change and he'll give you a scrip for lipitor. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

that looks right. after all, chuck norris is the only man who can swoop without a canopy. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

cross keys used to have a balloon. not sure if they still do, or if they're using it but it's a place to check. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

how could someone that stupid accumulate a million bucks in the first place? i mean, if i had a million dollars, and i kept it in a mattress, i would probably remember that. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

that only works if you also buy the mobileme service. $99 a year a i think, but worth it. you can get the same features for free, but not the integration. i sold a co-worker an older imac. he picked up a time machine on the way home, and had an ipod touch within a few days. they're great separately, they're amazing together! yes, you can put it in 'airplane mode' and all the radios turn off. you can also turn them off individually (wi-fi, bluetooth, phone). "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

WWDC = World Wide Developers' Conference. it's a week or so of sessions for developers to meet and greet, but it starts off with a keynote where they reveal all the new toys they have been working on. this time, it was more power and lower prices on laptops, the new iphone, the new iphone os and the new desktop os. yes, i likes me some apple stuff. edit because i can't spell cool. near the bottom of this page: Performance Designs Sabre I/II 150 Soft so, they don't recommend a sabre 135. the only 135 i see is the xaos-21 135, but it is crossbraced, so more bulk than a regular 135, and i believe it also has non-cascaded lines, so there's more bulk there as well. i was told no, aerodyne is making the sensei (without airlocks) and the lotus/samurai will be signature series only (made by brian his ownself). "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i signed up for a year!

yup, i'm doing all that, but it sits at zero. i can get the serial number and dom off the decal on the unit itself. i know it isn't due for a service yet (dom is 05 2006) but it will be by this time next year. to the previous response, i have seen a cypres 2 that told me it is due for a service, and i did read that the jump number thing was an update. that document didn't mention that it would also show the serial number and next service date so i assumed that that part worked on any cypres 2. the confusion is that the manual reflects the newer (or updated) units, but not the original ones. you'd think that they would have a note telling you that this might not work on your unit! oh well, why should they be any different than other manufacturers when it comes to documentation. thanks to those who replied! i'm packing a rig for someone, and it has a cypres2 in it. when i try to see the next service date on it, i can't access the info as per the manual. i turn it on as normal and it goes through the countdown (10-0) and then i hold the button down when it hits zero, but i don't get the jump count, serial number or service date, it just stays at zero. is there a trick to it that i'm not seeing in the manual? i wore an open ear protec for a couple of years (4 or 5 actually) with an audible mounted on the upper 'V' part of the chin strap. worked fine! the main thing to watch out for with other-sport specific helmets is snag hazards. goggle retainers, visor hardware etc. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." Near miss in freefall? A mystery? Advice needed.
kingbunky replied to T_P's topic in Safety and Training
so you have a freeflyer who got out first (which isn't the norm most places), then decides to dump high without telling anyone , then he accuses a newer jumper of being in the wrong place, and claims your instruments are wrong. sounds like someone needs an attitude adjustment. sorry, you're all wrong. F1 may have the best cars, but WRC has the best drivers, hands down. they drive on dirt, pavement, in rain and snow, in towns, forests, mountains, often all in the same day. Who/how many people would be interested in a skydive "recorder"
kingbunky replied to mseidl's topic in Gear and Rigging
as mentioned above, there are gps units that can record all that, then you can use paralog software to download the data and have it spit out a..... some sort of file that google earth will open and show your track in 3 dimensions! very cool. and geeky! there are threads on it here somewhere with some example tracks to look at. what would be cool is a device with a heads up display that could show you an optimal path to your landing point. that way, we wouldn't have to think at all, until the batteries all went dead.
