Exploiting areas such as ANWR will be feasible, its just expensive to do it and comply with regional licensing agreements and peculiarities. America led the resistance to the Kyoto accord which was aimed at reducing CO2 emissions from burning hydrocarbons. Russia followed suit, all to Europe and Japan's dismay. The situation is a lot more perilous than many think. Not only are HC reserves dwindling rapidly, world consumption is actually increasing. World production will peak next year, after that it will only get worse as areas such as India, Asia/Pacific become more developed their demands will sky rocket. With economic development comes increasing demand. The US will have to exploit the reserves in environmentally senitive areas (North Slope, and Prudhoe Bay are examples where this is already occurring), other similar regions are having to progress the same thing. EG Kashagan field in Khazakhstan is slap bang underneath the sturgeon spawning grounds. The problem is providing reliable technology to ensure 'zero emissions' from this type of project. DV in is exactly that, but most small bullet or lipstick cams are composite or even better SVHS feeds, if it says 'A/V in' in the camcorder specs you can use these remote cams in conjunction with your camcorder. DV in also allows you to stream video to it from say a VAIO or MAC or similarly firewire enabled pooter after editing or rendering .

Zee dude, make sure you get prices, and your hands on...a PAL camera. US origin NTSC cams are about much use as a bacon butty at a barmitzvah over here..... Anyways to the chase, it has a/v and DV in/out so its good to harvest footage from your chums. You can do much the same thing as this by exporting from premiere as a filmstrip file, then messing around in photoshop. Or generating an alpha matt and painting on that if the painting is essentially static. Hehe, I used a Braveheart theme remixed on one of my big way movies (Brit100) But am disppointed not to see Enio Morricone's themes from Fistfull of Dollars, Good the bad and the Ugly, and Afew Dollars more mentioned.... Not to mention his haunting works on other flicks.
