Yup, a neoprene jacket would do fine, all the better if you have some around, and know how to build a 'shroud'. The neoprene will also protect the cam from light knocks etc that you are bound to give it as you are climbing out the door etc....Commercially available 'camera condoms' are generally made from neoprene. I don't know an awful lot about glass fibre working though, somebody else here is bound to know..... Cya D

Well caught then sir, all that carving is being put to good use I see.... Joking aside, we almost 'lost' a guy through hypoxia and cold on the British record back in 99, and a lot of people were affected by it in Thailand. In both cases it was due to people coming off oxygen and climbing out way too early, compared to the lead ship that is, no fault of the guys themselves. I've seen large multi aircraft loads come down full because it was a concern. Its insidious, it can sneak up on you without you knowing, which is what makes it so dangerous. I've had alititude sickness before when I was climbing a lot, so am very aware of the early signs, light headed feeling, a bit like a rush. Watch out for it dude, it can kill ya..... Cya D

In the US, I would try and get hold of Tom Saunders, or Dave "Clem" Major, I 've seen both these guys jumping 16mm . Tom would be the best bet, as he's probably easy to get hold of through Aerial Focus aerialfcs@aol.com Good luck Dave Cya D

He really does care about people and their safety, I popped open one of his reserve pack jobs and had a good close look at it, I was impressed....Also, I sat and chatted with him after a recent incident there, and he was clearly upset and was quite emotional, even though there was nothing anybody could have done to avoid it. Don't be fooled by his humour on the ride to altitude, he's a heads up guy. We all gotta look after each other........ Cya D
