Something cool to do with the skydiving equipment.

So, I'm in Palatka, on their Cessna back in '93. It was my first (I know, beer!) self spot (required for s/l prog). Its a brand new diver driver on the DZ. I stick out the melon, and stare intently at the dz. I glance at Bram Clemens, my instructor and he smiles knowingly .... spot, spot, spot, spot, spot, spot, for a verry long time. I give my first ever correction (mucho beer was bought on that trip) "180 right". After a brief altercation with the pilot, I got my thigh crushing 'big G' 180 right..... Yup, the 'jump run' was a down winder. A bit a curve ball for newbie n'est pas? Log book said "acceptable spotting, cleared for next level", ya gotta admire the Dutch sense of understatement. Anyone know where Bram is these days?? Cya D -

When your trying to explain how 'body pilot' stuff works, its good to get a whuffoe to put their hand out the window, and see how the wind applies different forces etc......Gets em thinking more about flying, rather than falling. Cya D -
Thanks Sebazz, hey your profile pic looks like the guy from the pepsi advert, the skysurfer dude who is flying with a goose. Is that you? Cya D

Its the best we can get in Scotland, hardly surprising as single malt is much better, but I've tried Petrone (sp) here, its nice. So whats good? I want to take some back to the UK soon. Cya D

Don't see why not, the 'loop' is formed from a continuous length of teflon cable swaged to form the handle, the ends go to the 3 rings as per normal, the 'handle' is a fabric shroud with a velcro tab for the 'pad pocket'. You just have to make sure the lengths match your Vector cable lengths. Lets chat with Chris or someone at the DZ this weekend. Cya D

Wish I could make it to Lodi so I could defend my Tequila drinking reputation, and destroy any who would doubt my capacity for Cuervo Gold...... LOL guys..... Cya D

"I have seen sort of a combo soft loop/pillow that I would consider using. It seems like a good compromise. Forget who makes them." Are you thinking about my Javelin with its strange looking soft cutaway loop (which I think is quite a good idea) and reserve pillow? Why is my rig set up like this? I believe we should be rethinking the design of our cutaway systems. A loop on the cutaway makes sense to me, as I wanna be sure that sucker is gone BEFORE I fire my last chance into the spinning mess above my back. People are worried about not being able to grasp a soft reserve handle, should we be applying the same logic to the cutaway system? Terrified of a main reserve entanglement, even though I've chopped and gone silver (obviously successfully) 3 times, and have had an FXC misfire at 11k. Opinions and open discussions on this are hereby solicited by myself ....... Nacmacchat is now open Cya D

If you glued the two halves of the split match together in a cross, then placed the bugs in opposing directions, IYKWIM, would you be able to make a 'helicopter'...... Cya D

Now then Zennie, you are NOT a turbine snob, I've seen you grinning on a 182........And also organising enough peeps to get the thing flying in between turbine lifts, cmon out of the Cessna closet and admit it (I think you are in Cessna denial), your just a jumping fool like the rest of us

Pretty soon all your shoes turn into Tevas, your trousers transmogrify into freefly pants, and business shirts become boogie tees. Strange stickers will start to appear on your bumper, your gold crucifix changes to a closing pin hemp creation, and you may wake up with longer hair, tattoos, and or piercings that were not suited to your ground bound pre jumper character. You sell stuff so you can get a beat up RV that you can keep at the DZ. You no longer take an interest in regular movies, but have watched Good Stuff 4 times a night for the last month. You no longer check your regular e-mail, just the forum. You will be caught staring into space at the office (if you have by some miracle managed to hold a 'real job' down) with a wistful smile on your face. Jet A becomes your favourite cologne, and it actually attracts skychicks!!! Cya D

Just jumping in kinda late, I've never needed lead (my physique requires my friends to wear lead), so don't have any preferences. However one thing I would ask you guys n gals to think about is.... if you are jumping over water a lot, can you ditch your lead in the event of a water landing? Okay, thassall..... Cya D
