http://www.datavision.co.uk/ Go to to dv-in, then click widget list for compatibility. Sorry dude, I know cos a friend has one...... It may be a non European model though, from say Singapore, Russia, Aus, or NZ......Not sure if it was releaed in the US, most of their cams had DV-in but were not PAL. I would treat it with suspicion if DV in is important though. Cya D

If you bolt it to your noggin, you will need a wide angle anyway for the Freeflying, Max's lens is good value IMHO. Cya D

Sounds like fighting talk to me Chromey, bring your bat if you like, I'll turn it into toothpicks with my claymore..... But I'd rather you brought your axe and entertained us with a few choice licks . There's plenty quality alcohol to go round and TG will probably invite the other UGs so the house will be rockin'. Narce one, but my PC7 which is about 5-6 years old is smaller, and about the same weight, and has the same resolution.........My my how things change...... Seriously though, it looks like a nice cam, but can you get a D-box for it, or will you have to speak nicely to Jeanie at bonehead? One big Q from me would be about the DV in, and also AV in, are these enabled? What is the filter thread size for wide angle lens attachment? And might I recommend a 0.3 lens from Max Cohn for you? I love mine......Its light weight and snag free, I know how highly you regard safety, and I feel this oft overlooked. Cya D

"A couple of nukes in Scotland ought to help out that Global Warming problem huh" Why not, its where England stores them anyway, along with any radioactive waste that is too dodgy to put anywhere near London .....grrrrrr...... Cya D

No arguement from me Bill..... "their habits overcame their plans" Its why I raised it, newbies have a penchant for opening higher than planned. "horizontal separation always has to be there." Absolutely.... Cya D

"Everyone knows there are no Rottweiler's in Texas" Thats cos them kids shot them all Cya D

"I say we blame it on Andyman. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, blame the Canadian." Naw, I would blame it on the only major industrial power that hasn't signed the Kyoto agreement........ Bowing out before its not just global warming I have to worry about...

"I typically ask the inexperienced freeflier to exit before us unless they're planning to open particularly high." You raised a good point there Trey, my recent experience is that a lot of solo freaks (hehe) are also low timers and are prone opening a litle higher than some more experienced folk. If I have solos going out before me (as you know I am a frequent flier solo freak) I drum it into them that I will be expecting them to open at a predetermined alitide, or they can go behind me.......Normally out of fear of me catching them up as they will inevitably flail, and or zoom, and I go fast... I'd endorse Quade's recommendation, it is excellent. Also try and get get hold of Jonathon Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach, which is a little more abstract in its approach, but good nevertheless. Cya D

Bwahahaha "a woman is like Africa or Australia" I like the term "Mappotazzi" in this context, ever seen a map of Tasmania? Cya D

Yup about what Josh says re batteries, but I think you can get copies (ie non sony) batteries from Keene in the UK. The main difference between the 7 and the 10 was that the 7 had a plastic lens, and the 10 has a Carl Zeiss glass lens, and subsequently produces better images, also more effect features....Which I never saw the reason to have anyway.. The 10 also has a starnge bulge on the opposite side from the battery which makes mounting them awkward but not impossible. They have a better tape transport and acces than the 7 too. They were discontinued a long time ago. Oh, one other thing Fonzi, they can not be hack DV in enabled like other Sonys so will only act as a camera, not a recorder. Cya D

"where have you been hiding?????" Oh here and there, was back in Europe for a about ten days moving house and doing some work, then in Florida visting Scotty and Tami (who send all their love to everyone). I'm probably going up to San Marcos this weekend, then I'm back in Scotland for a week then back here for a couple of weeks, then home for good around the 21 june. I heard you broke a finger, how the hell did that happen? And did you get video? Cya D

My post numbers finally excede my jump numbers. Can I now enter that hallowed group known as post whores? Or must I remain a text tarting, script slut? Cya D
