  1. Curious about the lessons learned re tuck tabs, "He was jumping a well-maintained 98/99 model Javelin NJ, which does have a tuck-tab type reserve closing flap." followed by "It is unknown if this jumper's reserve flap had a bottom tuck-tab or flap, which can reduce the likelihood of this type of accident by making it harder to slide the flap open." 2. @ $44 you will have a hard time getting the taste out of your mouth
  3. Mama, # 6, besides, you probably don't wanna see MY hairy old boobies, I doubt you can afford the trauma counselling afterwards..... Cya D
  4. "Kneeling for 30 minutes is something I'll only do for two reasons, and a ride to altitude is one of them." Jess, Thats a long time to be praying, you must be a really good girl, or your seeking absolution for something really bad......
  5. "where's this place that you can get some for $44? " Montrose, downtown Houston, but I'm pretty sure you won't like it Clay . Cya D

I'm a safety engineer designing an oil/gas platform for teh North Atlantic, on assignment in Houston till the end of June. Then its back to dear old blighty for me. Cya D
  7. "and not specificly skydiving" I read the "purpose designed for skydiving" in one of those wee plane spotter books at the 'Wings' shop in Schiphol, waiting for a connection to Budapest. Mebbe it was just BS after all. Thanks for the link AndyMan. Cya D
  8. "My favorite plane is the Cessna Caravan" Hardly surprising, the Caravan is the only plane ever purpose designed for skydiving, I think I read somewhere once...... Cya D
  9. Some things will make you popular: 1) Lurk. Spend some time before you storm in 2) Search before you ask 3) Punctuate and spell check 4) Help newbies 5) Be nice 6) Post pictures of boobies 7) Jump with as many dot commers as possible Cya D
  10. "Hop and Pops from a 182 can be a riot" Chromie, not long ago Spaceland (myself and about a dozen others jumping) did 27 h/p loads from a cessna in a single day, it was a blast. My wee pal Zak was getting some good delays with his wingsuit
  11. Skreamer, thats the most sense you've made in ages......I'm with you, if its flying, I'll jump it, rather than sit on the ground whingeing about lo cloud base.
  12. Gotta love that Coaler Remster, but I notice your list hasn't got a LET 410 on it, tsk tsk, I thought you were a Langar man now , and wasn't there a big balck beaver down your way a while ago? I love big beavers I've attached a snap of a coaler just so all these Otter yuppies can get some jet envy

  14. "all I could think about was how much I wanted to get out of the plane" That's quite common...and it applies to any plane
  15. "do you think it really matters if it is a PD reserve or a Pisa reserve" Ummm not sure but I think TSO requirements may be void or something like that, smarter people here (and there are many) will know for sure..... Cya D

    DONE!

Damn you Aggie Dave that sounds like a cool way to unwind, if anyone needs me, I'll be stuck in this shitty office, Not drinking beer........Have a blast bro, Cya D
  17. Its cos I can't go. My time here in the US will be over, and it will be "nae otters nae mair" for me. Nothing wrong with cessnas etc, but I will miss having a choice of otters to play with. Texas has been good to me. Scotland is of course a great place to be, but the Skydiving lacks things like regular turbines, blue skies and warm weather. The jumpers there are just as friendly as anywhere else in the world, we are after all, one great big skytribe under the same sun. Cya D
  18. Did a couple of sits with Tami (she's getting better), one with Scotty (Hybrid 500+1000 for a couple of the sweet young girls there), and heaps of freeflying with the good people over at Pahokee. Jumped with Omri, and Judre from the forums. Scotty and Tami send both you and Mikey their lurve..... They almost got me on my belly, but I'm saving that for you Paula............ Cya D
  19. Be sure to jump the Skydive America Otter, it climbs really fast (dash 34 engines), you can't miss it, its the one with the stars and stripes paint job. I can't go, I'll be in Scotland Cya D
  20. Spy got it, You simply can't have one without the other, its a social sport, we jump with our friends, old or new. I mean, its kinda hard to do any type of fun skydiving on your own isn't it? Try doing crw on a solo, or RW, VRW etc...IYSWIM Cya D
  21. Damn, I hate those places...... Cya D
  22. Isn't there a wee DZ at South Padre Island?, I don't know really, cos I'm not from round here, I'm from East Texas Cya D
  23. Thanks for a great weekend, it really was great to see you guys looking so healthy and happy and stress free. Florida appears to be treating you even better than Texas did. Hell even that crazy wee canine looks happier, still LMAO at Herc chasing the Otter....
  24. Hens teeth laddie, the whole thing was going so slow recently that I actually had to do some work to fill in the office time. This is simply unacceptable, . Cya D
  25. I think the stainless steel should be allright, unless its an exotic form of stainless (there are hundreds of different flavours of stainless steel), which I very much doubt.........If you are truly worried, don't let any other ferriric (eg steel)based material come into contact with the shiny bits.... Cya D
