This is exactly the same story I told the FBI over and over and over....I had multiple conversationg with Mr. Himmelsbach about this. I kept asking Mr. H (remember I thought of him as being FBI) to check to see who Duane knew in prison...and who was there when he was. The FBI ignored me...in my pleading phone calls. Remember I did NOT have a computer - and I could NOT afford to spend long lenghts of time on the phone. The reason I asked him about Jefferson was the stories Duane told me about Jefferson - after 1990...after he came home. This is when he tried to get the John Collins ID and I found out about Jefferson. Although I did NOT push him with questions about Jefferson the conversation was one he related on his own. I may have asked him how horrible it was in a prison and what they did. This was when he told me about their sitting around planning "the big one". He did not mention names that I remember. He also told me that James Earl Ray was there. Duane did mention war veterans and pilots who had been given a raw deal, when they got home. Remember at that time I had NO idea Duane was Dan Cooper...and he could have spelled it out for me and it would NOT have hit me. When I say "Most Likely to Get Lost in a Crowd" I am NOT kidding. I was a really naive person. Smart book wise. Remember this is a title that was given to me in High School....so it goes WAY back. I am talking about one that we passed on our to Tahoe - it is flat land with a lake and Duane had known someone there on the other side of the Lake who was jumper. It has been so long since this was mentioned I had let it go. I will pull the map and give this information to you,. Some where on DZ...I had a discussion with some jumpers about Pyramid Lake - seems like there are two of them. The one I am talking about is North of Lake Tahoe up near the Oregon border line, but I don't know right now if it is located in CA or Nv - It was someplace near the border line of CA, Georger this is NOTHING new. I discussed this in the forum - we even had a thread called Pyramid....Quade can help you find this stuff - I just can't do it. I never gave it much thought but explored it. I have NEVER felt that Cooper jumped in that area and nothing Duane said would indicate this to be. He ust spoke about being there and having known a man who lived there. I remember the land being what barren. It was the one area he actually mentioned someone who was a jumper, but now I forget what kind. The told me about someplace they stayed, but again it has been many yrs since I allowed my mind to go back to that point. Deathly quiet. You can hear a pin drop so I had to make a post just to break the silence. I did hear Marla was talking to the media sometime on Monday. Now she is saying the FBI wants to do see if the can get her uncle's prints from a house he lived in 10 yrs ago. No Way the FBI will attempt that! Does she actually believe the FBI will spend money to do that? He Uncle was too young to be Cooper...yet, the FBI let her go public without making her aware of that fact. I just received an email that in a news interview that Geoffry Grey claimed there was a handwritten NOTE Cooper left behind. I think she must be wrong unless this is something the FBI had in their files and has kept secret. Does anyone know what this woman is talking about? Georger, I never made Duane Weber to appear to be anything. I recount first hand accounts that I know. That is all I am doing. Like all of you - I get suckered into theories - because I don't know. What I do know is what counts. Read the 21 Questions. Duane was a criminal - this I do know. Do I think he was Cooper? Yes, I do. I think he got lucky. Duane did some really dumb things, but he was never caught for all of the crimes he committed. You know this and I know this. If he was such a bungler at everything - how was it he was never arrested for crimes he commited after he was released from Jefferson as John Collins? How did he con a major insurance company into his becoming a top producer and district manager? To have avoided being found out he had to have been doing something right. If they had known he was an ex-con - he would never have been the man who brought tears to so many in St. Thomas when he refused to take credit for his success. Like any "job" you have to learn to be good at it or get replaced. He worked for that insurance company all of those yrs - and no one knew what his past was. Duane became the master of illusion - a successful insurance district and state manager who knew how to get his men to produce. How did he avoid detection all of those yrs? He was watching his back constantly for people he had known from his past. Why he was always looking around a room. One time a man transferred to his area from another state (Mo or Ks) - this man would have recognized Duane Weber as John Collins. Duane immediately requested a transfer to another area. The money was damaged, he couldn't spend it and I do believe he was able to salvage some of it, but had to dispose of the rest of it. The purpose could have been to make everyone think Cooper died. Problem was it back fired and perhaps he had not seen the composites that appeared in the paper afterwards. The only composite Weber may have been aware of was the Bing Crosby look-alike. I think he freaked and that is why he left CO. so quickly after the Newspaper Article. Also he was afraid I would put it all together - which I did not do at that time...but then again - he made sure in the following wks that I did NOT get to see the special or other articles on Cooper. Jo, Even if you pegged me correctly as a troll living under a bridge, trolls know that people don't throw good money (and paper bills at that) into the river. You do NOT explain how the money got to Tina's Bar. In fact, I believe you have previously stated that you weren't sure that there was even money in the paper sack that Duane allegedly threw into the river. And why throw money into the river years and years after the hijacking and when the FBI was at a complete loss as to even where the hijacker landed? ================= To All: from Jo Weber (just an old old story). I have explained what I think to be the answer to the above question before. This is Theory and fits with the way Duane lived his life. Duane never put all his eggs in one basket - his favorite saying during our 17 yrs marriage. When we went to the N.W. Duane wanted to go a couple of days early and to make stop at Salt Lake City. He had a history (?) with Salt Lake and I had been there on a trip with my family and not really interested in it. Most of you know the story about his setting me up to take the mysterious Salt Lake photo. I believe Duane went to where ever he had hidden part of the money. It was damaged or at least part of it was (not spendable without causing someone to question the money). Remember Duane disappeared for over 5 hours 2 different times one in The Dalles area and the other in Seattle. Therefore on the return trip - he needed to get rid of the damaged money. There were a total of 4 stops on the Vancouver side of the River on that morning before we left WA. One was an area - just East of the park - this is where he went down a hill after opening the trunk and ordered me to stay in the car. When he came back up the hill again opening the trunk I got out of the car. We were at a high point off the bank of the River...he pointed to an area to our Left and across the river and told me that I couldn't see it but just beyond those trees was the PDX tower and airport....behind us was a set of railroad track and he told me how they used to slow down right there because of some kind of a connector West of there (don't remember how he explained how slow the train pasted that point). The also mentioned that just over the berm was a lot of very nice homes. The second location was at a Green tank along the river and a loading dock. I can't remember if he opened the trunk at that point or not. The third location was West of the bridge and a rural area. This time he did open the trunk and told me to stay in the car. He went down to the river. After he got back he showed me an area across the river and pointed West and said he used to know someone who lived there. All I could see was what looked like a marshy prairie across the river. I remembered the house and the trees because I got out of the car to stretch until he got back to the car. We went along an industrial area. The last stop was the Red Lion Motel where he handed me some money and told me where the bathrooms were and snack machines. (How did he know were they where?) He said he would be in the back of the Motel. When I got to the back of the Motel he was standing out off of some kind of landing looking at the river. I asked what he was doing - he said "Watching that Paper Bag float down the River". I hit the ceiling because I even then did NOT litter. I was REALLY upset about this and even checked the Trash Barrels to see if he was pulling my leg. They were empty. This Bag appeared in the front floor board prior to our reaching the Red Lion and I noted it and asked what it was. He said "Just some trash I need to get rid of of". Why was it at his feet on the driver's side. We kept a litter bag behind us because we traveled a lot for our work. It was after my 2010 trip I was able to find the stops. When I was out there with a TV crew in 2001 the drivers who had NO idea what I was talking about took me very which way but right - it was confusing. 2011 was MY money and my time and I did it my way. There were so many changes I had to guess at the 1st stop which was across the river for the PDX. The Green tank - was easier. This is some of the undeveloped area and the woman whose husband purchased the land said the Green tank had been there until a couple of yrs before when he had it removed. She was going to send me an arial taken while the Tank was in place. When I passed under the highway is when I realized - OMG! The rest of that is history - everything was there. Do I know there was money in that bag - absolutely not. He had it on his side of the car and setting at his feet. I knew better than to even touch it after questioning it. My after thoughts on this since digesting it for all of this time is that he was burying something at the first point and the Tank was just a stop. I believe he deposited something at the 3rd spot which may have been Tena's bar and then he tossed the bag into the River at the Red Lion. It was only Oct of 2010 and my being behind the wheel of a car that helped me to sort out the trip. I hope this answer will suffice. Mr JT had me so confused on the phone in 1996 that I didn't know which was was right - he kept telling me NO and that we were on the South side of the Columbia and no this didn't exist and that didn't exist. He gave me names of places - I had no map. He told me my husband turned me around - NOT so I found all of the places except the location of the tower. I was even instructed on one of the interview to use the name of the places JT dictated to me. I did so over my own objections, but in 2001 I still did NOT have a detailed map of the area. After that documentary - one was sent to me - I still do not remember who sent it - but there was the LAKE I thought was a River. Someone understood me and listened. The Lake is another part of the story and that was on our way to Seattle after turning off of Hwy 14 and not on the return trip. A change in: #21 of my Requested Questions to the FBI. I am repeating the 21 Questions below other than I did change #21. I will let this lie at 21 Questions and hope the FBI or a private investigator who is interested in helping to solve this will provide me with some answers. 1. NOT one person has ever been able to explain why it was NOT introduced into evidence when they first searched the plane nor the discrepancy in the time frame it took to introduce this into evidence. 2. The DNA extraced from that tie if it did indeed belong to Cooper. Did it have any distinct characteristics such as a PDK gene or some other specific gene that might provide heritage? In regards to DNA did, the DNA they got for Weber contain the PDK gene? 3. Regarding the Prints used to excuse Weber. Carr indicated they used the prints off of the McNeil file yet, in 2000 the Agent of Record said Duane was never in McNeil. He would later state that Duane only passed thru McNeil when I confronted and informed him I had the McNeil file infront of me. 4. If number 3 is correct then why or how did they use the prints from that file...as in 2000 it was denied. 5. If Duane's prints where the same as the McNeil file why was he incarcerated in 1966 as John C. Collins and received a commutation of sentence under that name. Why would this occur if they had validated Weber's prints in 1966. Did the FBI NOT compare his prints at that time? Or did they discover his prints belonged to Weber after his release - that might explain #6. 6. Why when Duane was released from Jefferson in 1968 did the FBI go to CO looking for him. This is when the wife and Duane and the kids took off for N.Orleans. Duane would never be arrested again for another crime after that time and he worked for a company connected to JMWAVE off and on for a period of time after 1968. 7. When the FBI started the centralized system on prints - most of this was input manually and I have heard of reports where the prints did get recorded correctly. 8. If the FBI investigated Duane, where was he from July of 1945 to 1949. Duane just disappeared until he was arrested in CA. and sent to San Quentin and then to Folsom. 9. Did the FBI even try to follow the trail of Duane from 1962 until 1968 when he was living as John C. Collins and I provided them with the SS number he used. During this time he was with his common-law spouse and they often used her last name - she even used different first names. When she told me she did not know his name was Duane Weber until his release from Jefferson in 1968 - I found this claim flawed although I never confronted her on this. Her name is listed differently on other records. Mary, Maria, etc. 10. Why did the FBI go to CO in 1968 after Duane's release from Jefferson and knock on the door of his brother-in-law. Both Duane and his wife were working legitimate jobs in CO. Why did the FBI not continue to pursue them if he was of so much interest they came from Ks or Mo to see him in CO and why did he run? The family told me this story. (Perhaps they found the prints were faulty - maybe they made new prints before he was released and found their error.) 11. Since Duane was obviously in the system for yrs - why could the FBI NOT explain his extreme knowledge of the N.W. and I believe he was there from mid 1945 until around 1948. Did the FBI check print files in Idaho around Coure d alene - wanted or unsolved crimes...this was to also include Spokane. 12. When Duane was in Jefferson who were his roommates and what other prisoners beside James Earl Ray did he know in that system? This should include why he was not identified as Duane Weber until after his RELEASE with a communation of sentence for John Collins. This is confusing! 13. When Tina turned to look back from the curtain - what did she see...did he make motion to her - as one would a child with 2 fingers indicating she needed to do what he told her to do? 20. Cooper was purported by Tosaw to have given Tina a "look" when the money arrived in the bag. Did she secure a more adequate bag for him to put the money in from something one of the crew had or something one of the passengers left when they moved forward to the 1st class? 21. Had I not presented Weber this thread would never have existed and no explorations of the whys and hows would ever have existed on the level which it has. You are aware that I am the ONLY person to come forward who ever put the money on the river and on the river bank in the time span that the FBI and Mr. Palmer determined it arrived there. I told the FBI about the places Duane took me along the river - but, JT made sure this became convoluted. Not having a map of the area - all I could do was describe the places to JT who Mr. H. put me in contact with as the man on the ground. I would learn many yrs later the places he kept telling me I was at were NOT the places at all. I did physically find one of the places in 2001 and most of the others in 2010. He kept trying to convince me that Duane turned me around and he also insisted that Duane and I went to Vancouver by going along the S side of the River to Portland and I was adamant that NO we crossed the river somewhere before Washougal and we were on the N. side on Hwy 14. After acquiring maps I was able to dispute what JT said. Even my little map (drawn from memory) in 1997 to Mr. H. indicates this. I unknowingly without any knowledge of where Tena's bar was in 1996 put the money on the Columbia as we headed home and then he makes a sudden decision to go to Tahoe The trip Duane and I made to WA was in 1979 around the end of Sept. After leaving Seattle we went to Vancouver and he made 4 stops on the Northside - one East of Winterly Park and then East to a Large Green tank on the river and one West of I-5 - and then we went to the Red Lion on the river. I do not need to repeat what he did there- as the story is very old. So unknowingly a woman who had only been to WA that one time in her life inadvertantly put the money on The Columbia within the correct time frame. Having only read 1/3 of a book of mostly fiction I was on the phone to the FBI - I had NO idea where Tena's bar was. I had no idea that the money was only in the water for about a yr...on that night of MAY in 1996 when I made a frantic call to the FBI. I knew NOTHING, but what Duane showed me and what I held in my hands and what he told me. This is the Truth and if the FBI took notes or recorded the conversation they could never deny what I have just said. I had NO idea what I had done until it was discussed in this thread - No one had ever told me the money had not been in the water for 7 or 8 yrs. Learning that made all the stops Duane made make sense and why he immediately left CO and penned his resignation the DAY after the article about the money find appeared in the newpaper. We were making good money and there WAS no need to leave the area. I had just gone to work for a Real Estate office and my daughter's Birthday and Graduation was coming up and her Prom. Duane left us in CO and only came back for my daughters graduation. Oh, well everyone has heard this story before - I give up - NO ONE will ever listen. I am just a tree falling in the forest and I am sorry you think I am not worthy. This thread would never have existed if I had not been seeking facts and trying to explore what really happened. I have told you guys that for yrs and yrs and I did my own experiments before I even went public. Those rubber bands were only in that water for about 6 months. This was also the opinion of Palmer - I believe he said less than a yr. The only soid that I had around that would resemble the soil in WA was the soil around my azaleas. I did one in dirt that was sheltered. Another one in dirt I kept wet on my deck. I also mixed the soil and water and put it under my kitchen sink and one of just plain water. My back deck was shaded - it is humid here like it is in WA. I told about these result on this thread so I won't repeat them. Just want you to know. Frankly right now without going back to the note I forgot what each one did - I kept these containers for over a yr...checking the rubber band every couple of months. The muddy wet one was very brittle, faded and crumbled after a yr. I used old rubber bands around the house - so they were NOT new rubber bands, but all the same size and probably out of the same package. Not on the crime shows. All they need is familia dna...you will carry your fathers gene and your mother - but they would know you are related. They do this all the time to find out who the father is. Thank you so much for making those posts regarding the Obtuse actions of One Bruce Smith. I find it difficult to even think about the dragon he has let loose. As for Tina's location - I KNOW how he got it. NOT from me, but from the only other person I am aware of who knew where she was...he reads this thread, but does not post. I warned this man about trusting Bruce because I learned about his tactics when I met him. I had talked to Bruce many times and he was kind - unless I was refusing to provide the information he was after. He was really sharp with me 2 or 3 times because I REFUSED to tell him where Tina was. Then he would quickly drop whatever it was. Yet, he was alway willing to talk if I needed to bend someone's ear. I have no idea what he has written about me, but I am sure it will have his slant on it. I am a brutally honest person - and tell it the way I see it. I might not always be right, but when it comes to judging people I actually have had interaction with personally and eye to eye - maybe it is the age thing - but I read right thru them. When I met Bruce in WA my gut instinct turned out to be true before the day came to an end. He was very helpful to me in locating something I had a problem finding and he was polite. It was his little play for getting noticed that bothered me at the Red Lion. As most of you know I made that 15 day trip and kept a very low profile in WA and OR. He bought my dinner and I knew he really couldn't afford to do so.. Like I said - buy me a glass of wine and I do things - I normally would not do. I was tired and hurting (physically) - and I hate to say no to people when they have been nice to me. He wanted the waiter to know what I was there for - and this guy was so young he didn't have a clue who Cooper was.

I am pretty much sitting things out right now, but your post was worth taking a chance on. Mr. JT is the one responsible for Duane being dropped from the list with information he provided which was he contocted. I have been told that besides the writers that JT has connections and he claims to have had interviews with the FBI just as he did above. I really wish someone would confirm this or not. If JT has an inside with the FBI - WHY? He cannot construct a sentence or spell - yet, he seems to be on the Inside. WHY? Frankly I believe Duane's DNA needs to be rechecked - because it is important regarding what items they were able to pull DNA from. They need to ID the items so that I can tell them how many time that item was used by Duane or if it was an item he may never have worn that I let a friend try on. The slippers I never saw Duane use and a pair of the gloves. The pipes will have his DNA but I cleaned them really good (I did not provide his favorite pipe). My friend and I played around with some of the pipe on night. I can't remember what all I provided without going back to the list. I have made it know in the thread I will allow them to swab a watch that will have his DNA, but I will not leave the watch in their possession. This one definitely will have the DNA of Duane Weber on it - unquestionably. It is the only DNA I have I know belongs to him....besides his favorite pipe.
