Duane MADE SURE I DO NOT GET TO SEE THIS TV PROGRAM AND ARRANGES FOR US TO GO OUT ON A WEEK DAY NIGHT WITH A COUPLE I HAD NEVER MET. Duane resigned his job and was gone from the area relatively quickly. He head to Mobile, AL. When he comes back for my Daughters graduation he is questioning her about her coach and his wife - I never understood that one. Probably because his last name was Larson and Duane had to be careful. Duane had over 2 months in Mobile, AL to study up on the case and to decide if it was safe to go back to CO. You see our live seemed to evolve around his always watching his back and I did not understand this. Duane kept these secrets for 17 yrs. The only thing I knew about was Jefferson - although he hinted at other things, but saw I was NOT ready to accept anymore than his explanation of trying to obtain a drivers license under a fake name in 1990. I believe the money was hidden in Oregon below The Dalles and at something he helped to build or it was hidden at a house or under a house near the Biggs and Rufus area...it had to be something he knew was NOT going anywhere. Shit happens and moisture got to the money and the books. It had to be someplace he could drive to and be back at the hotel before check out time. 5 -1/2 hours. Then in Seattle a few days later on our last day there - he again disappears for a complete after noon. This time 12;30 to 6 (5 1/2 hours) He comes in to the room all giddy and I accuse him of drinking - he had NOT been drinking but he was sure happy. The next morning is when we made all of those stops in Vancouver and after we crossed the river and we reached a point on the road past the airport and beyond the point we could see Washougal across the river did he turn around and announce we were going to Tahoe. I asked how we could afford it...he states the company gave him a cash bonus. The entire time we spent in Tahoe was weird - weird, but I had never been in a casino - I would only learn yrs later what he was doing there was NOT normal. Gray did an interview with Tom Kaye, and spent quite a bit of time with him. You want to call him a liar, to say he misquoted Kaye? You tell him yourself. Otherwise I will accept that the interview is accurate and Kaye is fairly quoted. You should go to the source and ask Tom Kaye if that quote from the book is accurate. I have his email address and will give it to you in a PM if you wish. TRY the horses Mouth. Gray got lots of things wrong. Gray was trying to write a serious book and then realized how many different places and how many different stories are out there. The yrs and clouded memories. Researcher comes up with multiple different answers. You feel and hear the exasperation in the last part of the book when he leaves you with Tomato cans and Black Ops and Cugie. Gray had to settle for writing a humorous and entertaining book, because resolving the details of the crime became MIND BOGGLING...enough to make any sane person doubt their sanity. I personally know how he portrayed characters is NOT how they are and what he tells you about them is NOT accurate. The only one I can prove is his story about Jo Weber. Somethings his writings are entertaining and are meant to make certain characters more pictorial for his own purpose. Taut Sheets - he didn't see my sheets. Looked like I had been gardening - I live in FL and layer my clothes - plus I dress very neat and classy for my age. Geoffrey has spent most of his life in N.Y. - a place not know for casual wear like Fl. I guess he expected me to be in a church dress - even the churches are casual here - with many of them being outdoors. His accounting of my first meeting with Duane Weber makes me sound like a cheap floozy out for a pick-up. So very very far from the truth. My family is appalled by his graphic portrayal of me - and after reading the book I also understood why someone in this thread referred to me as Trailor Trash. Gray made me look CHEAP and anyone who knows me knows how far that is from the truth. I wish I had not allowed the interview and have kept my communications on a written word level only. Problem with that it is hard to answer questions and even more difficult for anyone to follow what I am saying. A thought process that has cost me dearly over the yrs...I ramble and it is just how my brain is wired. Therefore - all most all accountings taken by even reputable journalists are influenced by their own life and locations and experiences and goals. Unless it is an actual tape with an actual response without missing parts - only then is any verbal accounting 100% accurate. Even the written word - is forgotten or engarnished by the person making the statement. 40 yrs is a lot of yrs to be consistent. Note the resemblance to Kenny Christiansen in this photo. Note the sideburn and the slant of the forehead and how it shows an angle the stewardess would have viewed him from. Note the wavy and straight hair. Note how shiny it is. Also place the photo of the sunglasses the exwife sent me yrs ago onto the photo. Note the stem of the glass on Duane is thin - therefore no ears poking out. Since this photo was taken from a side view and with his head down and over 10 yrs later the nose seems more - but in straight on photos his nose is sharp and you guys have seen examples of that. All depended on the viewing point and if you were shorter than he was. Photo taken approx 1983 in the winter. I don't remember the details but there was a new article about someone seeking an individual who was shopping for a hair piece and so the story came down that Cooper may have been wearing a "piece". As for gay individuals you obviously have not known individuals who were "gay" in 1971. It was a closet thing then. BUT, they usually did NOT meet in groups back then - so the likelyhood of the get-to-gether being a GAY bash is unlikely. I expect the motor home was just to get away and then after it was lived in by the family due to a fire - they may just have decided it was too expensive an investment for the use it was given. Rather than my mother believe SHE left the iron on - I got a horrible whipping (one from her and then my father after he got home). ALL I did was put the fire out. Since that day - I walk around and check everything more than one time before leaving. I had actually saved the house, but instead I got blamed. It was the norm in our house for me to take whippings for things I didn't do. I got used to it. Why when Jerry uses me for a whipping board I stand up to him, but try to ignore him when I can. I noticed you didn't give me any flax about the 2 books and I was thinking - OH here it comes! I think that one slipped up on you as I am sure it did others. Easy answer Jo. They don't care if you toil endlessly. They have no continuing interest in lightening the load on potential witnesses who are determined to have no probative evidence. A witness either has relevant crime evidence or they don't. The FBI has concluded that you don't. After that point you fall off their radar. They won't spend a minute to save you years of frustrating investigative work. That angers you but surely you should be able to see their point. It's not a static situation. Put Duane on the plane and you'll find immediate and deep FBI interest. Until then you'll just be completely ignored. Not persecuted, just ignored. There is a difference. 377 I held the evidence in my hands - but never saw it after 1994. I still believe there was something in the VAN...but, I missed it and someone else found it...and probably threw it away except for any money or gold coins they may have found. 2 pieces of jewelry with no known reason - but things he refused to part with. Too much time lapsed between Duane's death and my discovering who Dan Cooper was. I am a neat freak - and I just got rid of things...if only I had known at his death what I know now - I would have kept many things I got rid of. Georger I am definitely not out for glory or fame - just to know the thruth about Weber (have to be careful now not to say Cooper). If the FBI has the records that support Duane NOT being in the WA area in 1971 and other times he was according to "my research" then all they ever needed to do was provide me with the information and I would not have been the thorn in their side I have been all of these yrs. Do you think I really like using up my life researching a man - I was married to, but didn't really know? If the FBI is playing games that is not how it should be. When a suspect comes up and if they have information that indicates the subject could NOT be Cooper sharing that information with the family would allow the FBI to move on. In regards to Weber they stated information that was faulty and I already had government documentation to the contrary. They would later admit their error, but didn't want if public knowledge. If the FBI has information that would prove Duane was NOT Cooper they could have saved themselves and me a lot of hardship - not to mention money and time on my part...and tax payers dollars. Why did the FBI ask for help in solving this crime? Do you have an explanation of this? Why do you think the FBI has not been open with the files and the information all of these yrs? Keeping information from the public till those who night have know Cooper have died off - makes NO Sense to Me, but nothing our government does makes sense to Me anymore. When I bring up what I believe to be a childhood picture of Tina and the old BOOKS ( the fact there are 2 books I have kept secret all of these yrs). I am bringing up information the FBI could prove or disprove. Lets face it, I did NOT realize these book could be connected to the case until you guys did your experiments on the river. Why did he have a foreign bill he had put some kind of wax on? I asked why and he just said a little experiment. Was he going to try to wax one of the 20's? There are just to many WHYS: The chute hardware, the airline ticket, the little toy (mouse) and a piece of very thick Plexiglass (tinted). I didn't discuss this before because I didn't know what it was. It is a piece of glass - 1 and 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches long. It was in the same desk drawer he told me to LEAVE ALONE. I now know this is a piece of AIRPLANE window? What the hell did Duane need this for other than a paper weight? He never used it and it was with the other things I had orders to not touch. I am putting everything out there now that I have kept to myself - HOPING maybe it might provide some kind of clue to the FBI - but, they aren't talking to me at all. Did I ever mention what Duane said after I walked into the house with our Sunday Paper. I made the comment - They found that man's money. The one who jumped out of the plane. he said "I know it was worthless". I wonderded how he could know that, but maybe it had been in the news before it was put on the Front Page of the Denver Post (I think that was the paper we got - probably was). He could have heard it on the car radio the day before. I also note that Duane made arrangements for us to go out on a wk-day when the TV program on Cooper was supposed to air. That was RARE. Duane left Colorado soon after this leaving my daughter and myself in Co telling me they gave it territory to someone else. She loved her school and her friends there - she loved the life there and so did I. After Duane's death I would find in his possession a resignation letter dated almost immediately aafter the money find was made public. The resignation stated that I wanted to go back East and that his step-daughter wantd to go to school there --- NONE of that was true. In fact after she moved to AL. with us - she was in a car headed back to CO within 3 months. Duane used my daughter and I as an excuse to leave the area without setting off an alarm. He would be in AL almost 3 months before my daughter and I moved to AL. Duane was afraid someone might recognize him - and he was TOO close. Reading some early writings I see that I jump from the trip to Seattle and back to the trip to Portland - they become intertwined. I even have a hard time following myself in a post I have written. (I am going where my mind is and I am jumping from A to Z and then to C and then to P. I am bouncing off the wall.) Yes, I should have had someone help me organize things, but that cost money and time. I had little of each at that time since I worked and later worked plus took care of a sick husband (I did remarry and later we found he had cancer - he died in 2007). One person indicated to me there were other programs, but I rarely ever watched TV. I made the appts for my husband and myself on the phone.. I called during the time people were at home - husband and wife. I never turned a TV on in the day time. We rarely watched TV. I know you don't get this life style, but sales is all I have known since I married Weber in 1978. I did work a desk job in Denver while I was attending real estate school there. After we moved to Ft. Collins - it was sales. Even in AL it was sales and then in VA it was sales and then in Fl it was sales and then after Duane died it was sales. There were times I had to supplement my income by working in an office for a period of time - but, I always ended up in sales...Real Estate and Insurance - Duane taught me how to make a living rather than existing on minimum wages and sitting hehind a desk for 8 or 10 hrs a day. Picky Picky Picky1 You know that after 15 yrs and at my age - Weber was Cooper and Cooper was Weber in telling the things I know. I am NOT trying to be explicit. As for what was in that paper bag. well we had a litter bag in the car because of our businss. The paper bag he had was sitting at his foot on his side of the car. I asked about the bag. Why would Duane throw trash into the river. Whatever was in that bag he did NOT want me to see. Why he sent me to get drinks and snacks. In fact ask yourself this question - HOW did Duane know where the snack and soda machines and restroom would be located? I have gone back tp other accounting I wrote yrs ago about our stops on the river. I was real lupset by the stop at Tena's bar because id didn't feel right - but, the house was right and the gate was right. I now understand it is because they approached the area differently than Duane and I did. This requried my going to WA on my own and getting behind a wheel of a car and driving through as much of the area I as I could. With all of the commotion I forgot why I came here tonight. The major contributor to one of the book was Joan Garrity and guess where she lived - in St.Helen, Or. Another major contributor to one of the books live in another part of Oregon. The picture in one of the books has been compared to Tina. Certainly could be Tina or her sister (we do not have a picture of the sister). The FBI was NOT interested but someone else WAS. Remember that Duane disappeared for 5 1/2 hours while I sat in a motel East of The Dalles. Where did he go? The silver thing Jt is ranting about - there was nothing in Geoffry's book that was conclusive about that. One of these books had been wet and has the impression of a bill on it (so it appeared to me). Perhaps these are just old books Duane Weber acquired - strange they both seem to be connected to the N.W. in one way or another. The second book? You heard it here first. I kept the fact there were 2 books a secret. I didn't think they were related, but both books showed up at the same time in 1990. Most of the contributors lived in the N.W. One Blue and One Gold - each only had 3000 issues. Are they related to the Skyjacking? Hell, I don't know! That is in the hands of someone else and not me. Cherry Cheese Pie - no coded message! Grey really went "mad" in that last chapter, but it put a twist on Cooper. This was the humorous part of Gray's book. Anyone who chases Cooper becomes unhinged. That is just the way it is. The case out of its total simplicity has shut down great minds. THere was NOTHING complicated about what Cooper did - he was supposed to get arrested or die. The hell of it is he survived. Georger: Why did you delete your post. I was making a reply and it went Poof. You had told Blevins the only thing you agreed with him on was that Tina's bar is on the WEST SIDE of I-5. I can't believe Belvins in entertaining doing yet another revision of his book regarding the money. He is bound and determined to keep changing it with every bit of new information that comes along...now he understands the money was not in the river for 7 yrs. I was with Cooper when he put the money there - but, no one will ever believe this so that makes me an Idiot, but I have ceased to care. I have given up all hope anyone will research some records in Koontenai country - I have hoped someone would remember the boy, but he was the same age as Duane so What are the Chances? If he is alive he would not be in Idaho - and probably has no memory of his life back that far. 87 yrs old is really old and that is how old Duane would be if he was alive. If I could find out what happened in Coeur D Alene it might not prove Weber was Cooper, but it might shed some light on the past of Weber so I can die in peace. Would really be mighty nice of the FBI to allow me access to the information they have on Duane's life and his missing yrs that I have no record of. Duane and I made 4 stops . One East of Winterly Park (he opened the trunk and went down to the water and told me to stay in the car) he opened the trunk before and after...this is where the track where. The second stop was at that big Green tank along the river West of Winterly (but I got out of the car at the green tank with its little dock). Duane told me what the tank was for, but I forgot. After that we went under the highway and West away from the river, but back to the river. There was an industrial area, but I did not get to do that route when I went to WA in Oct of 2010. I do know that I had been to Tena's bar when I went there with the documentary crew, but it was confusing with all of those people and the way they took me in. The house was familiar, but something was wrong and I got upset and left Himmelsbach and the crew at the river in 2001. Something was wrong and it may have been how they approached the area. They didn't take me the way Duane did. I talked to Himmelsbach in the car and told him the approach did not feel right. I told Himmelsbach in the car that Duane and I went thru an industrial area along the river. He said we would pass that on our way back...but, I didn't see what I saw in 1979. I blamed it on the yrs changing things and development. The crew was confusing me and the young man who was the 'guide' had only been in the area for a couple of yrs - a student. This student was instructed by JT as to where to take me. It was every which way, but right. The crew told me that JT had other plans when I asked why he wasn't there. I think the student was a last minute change and they winged it. Never found out the truth about this - JT says one thing and the crew said differently. I now know another place - JT claimed did NOT exist - does indeed exist. The woman truck driver told me where it was AFTER the TV crew left in 2001 and some locals took me out there. I also spoke to a Surveyor from the N.W. who was here in FL. on assignment a few months ago. I describe the place to the man in the very same way I did to JT in 1997- and he told me immediately what it was. I already knew what it was because I found it in OCT of 2010. I just wanted to know if this man would understand what I was describing - and he did. I have his phone number if you want to speak to him. It makes NO sense to me why JT - steered the Crew away from this particular place and told me it did NOT exist. He told me tDUANE turned me around and took me back to the Columbia - I was emphatic with JT on the phone back in the late 90's that I knew what the Columbia looked like and we were NOT on the Columbia and informed him I found the hill he said did not exist. I will let you derive at your own answers to Jerry's actions. At any rate I did find the site in 2010 (with the help of Bruce Smith). The surveyor had no idea why a woman here in FL would ask him about this place. He just said ANYONE who has live in WA most of their life would know exactly what I was describing. Yet, JT could't or wouldn't? JT. got LOUD and ANGRY and was coersive with me when I called him after my trip (in Oct of 2010 last yr) to let him know I had found my "hill". He kept calling me liar liar liar over and over and over and over. I was in the ER that night because I could not get my heart to slow down. Why the man would not or could not tell me what my "hill" was is beyond me. Why he could not identify 2 cemeteries I describe also puzzles me - I found them when I went to WA all by myself. The surveyor knew where both cemetries where. I found the park that didn't exist, but it was wet and dark so I did not walk down into it the Way Duane I had done in 1979. I am the only person who has ever put the money in that river in 1979. I didn't even know where Tena's bar was - I just had what ever was in the book of Fiction by Max Gunther and I had only read a FEW pages when I called them the first time that night in May of 1996. If that money was not in that river for 7 yrs and had only been there for less than a yr....how in the HELL can a stupid woman do it. I wasn't trying to do that - I just told what Duane did on the trip and that is all I did. I would NOT find out the money may not have been in the river for 7 yrs - in this forum....but, I had said my words in 1996. No one talked about what Palmer said in Gunther's book - and Gunther's book does NOT state anything about the money being put in the river or how long it was there. Georger - I am NOT smart enough to contrive something like that up. I am an idiot about those kinds of things...I am NOT creative....all I did was tell the FBI about the trip. NO one was listening and no one is listening now. No one wants to admit the FBI missed something in Duane's background... they would rather I just die or go away. I have stated before that I vaguely knew who Cooper was, but had never read anything other than a news article on the 3rd page of the paper I got only on weekends in Ga. I then forgot it and filed in away in my brain as mundane and useless information. The next time I would have any knowledge of Cooper was in Feb of 1980 when the money was found - I have stated over and over that I never got to read that article because Duane took it with him that morning. I also stated that there was going to be a TV special regarding Cooper and I wanted to see it. Duane arranges for us to go out with another couple on a week day night. We never went out with other couples and not on a weekday. He got very drunk that night. This may have been the night he got the DUI. The FBI could check the files in Ft Collins and find out. I don't remember. Therefore I would not know any more about Cooper until 1996 on a day in May after reading a book about Cooper. This occurred only because I mentioned the things Duane told me before he died as a way to gently let this man down as he was smitten by me, but the feelings were not mutual. I was letting him know I was NOT ready for a relationship with him. 2 wks later I read a mostly fiction book about Cooper as it was the only book available in our area - and this is when my journey started. This is the truth so help me God and I am very very tired and I do not feel good. I had some problems yesterday and they got worse as the day went on. I thought I was doing pretty good until I heard the comment made by Bruce Smith in Portland just a little while ago. "Jo had to know who Cooper was in 1979 because of her comment about a place Cooper supposedly walked out of woods." This gets harder and harder - and I can't go on anymore. It is too much to bear. If the FBI does NOT have the compassion to pick up the phone or to come see me and prove Duane was not Cooper then they have to realize that the story I have told have told for 15 yrs is true. Duane even quized my daughter about one of the coaches at her school - because of his name and wanted to know if she knew what his wife looked like. He had never been interested in any of her school activities before. Strangely enough this coaches name was the same last name as Tina's. I didn't get to read the news article so I don't know if they gave her married name. Government law Enforcement Agencies are cruel. America is NO more a country to be respected. The law enforcement treats witness like they are the perpetrators. These kinds of actions on behalf of the law enforcement agencies in this country have to stop. This is NOT the America I knew. It is alright for a 16 yr to text and destroy a $400 mail box driving on the wrong side of the road - and I was NOT supposed to complain. If it had been me that hhit that mail box in the same manner - I would have lost my drivers license because of my age. Law enforcement spokes persons need to be MORE informed before they make statements to the public (or reporters) or NOT make any STATEMENT at all. No other person ever came forward with a suspect has presented the circumstancial evidence I have. NOT one. Yet because I never got to talk to just one agent and the mulitple agents didn't know any more about the crime than I did, Jo Weber's story had no consistency. Hell, I had NOTHING to work with and with little or no accurate information about the crime and having only been in Wa in 1979 for the first time - NO ONE ever sat down with me and worked with me thru the questions or processes. All I could do was throw my random memories out there and why I ended up in this thread - out of desperation - looking for the answers and the pieces to the puzzle. Then per the FBI Spokes Person, Marla Cooper who has researched the subject is the only story this spokes person thought was promising. The Spokes person needs to see what I have and to know where I have been. The spokeperson didn't know my story and she was unaware the Dan Cooper Comic connection being made in gest by a character in the DropZone thread. She didn't know those comics were so hard to find and they would not have been cut out and put on a refrigerator by a man whose family thought he was Cooper. Hell, if they were such good citizens - why didn't they come forward before he died. The FBI is unable to spot a phoney and they just wanted this one to fly...they wanted it to be over with. I have repeatedly told the FBI where to look for the connections - but no they did not. The FBI was aware of the night clerk - but I guess this spokes person never heard of Chuck - the night clerk who Id'ed a man whose name was given as John Collins at the hotel the night before the crime. Why did they not contact this person until forced to do so by posting in this thread? Why did he have to go to there office to be heard...7yrs later. Then it was just buried...with Carr claiming on this DZ that he couldn't find any hotel registrations. Well, did he check the Portland police and FBI office files - that is where it woud be - NOT in WA. Thank You DZ for the chance to tell the REAL story, but I am very tired right now - exhausted emotionallly and physically. I have done all I can do - now , the FBI will bury Cooper, but at least some of you got to find out the REAL STORY. You can believe it or not...that is your choice. Kootenai County, Idaho. I expect if you have read back in the postings and I strongly suggest you do so. You will find out I have repeatedly talked about a woman who lived in OR and her nephew. I begged the FBI to check them out yrs and yrs ago. I found in 2010 who they were and that they did exist...I also found a connection between these indivdual and the airstrip you are referring to. The FBI has NEVER responded to this. I told the FBI the same story for 15 yrs - only my trip to WA in 2010 put names to the individuals. I repeatedly requested from the FBI the names of the company and individuals flying out of that area. I also requested repeatedly the name and business involved regarding a car left in Portland near the airport at a storage area. Why? Because Duane talked about these and showed them to me. In 1979 when Duane and went to WA and OR, I expect little had been published in the South about these things accessible to Duane Weber. How did he know the area and how did he know WHERE these places where?

I agree - Your article sounded very profession - it was news worthy. I have learned to hate the types of articles you did on Tina and her family. I avoid those kind like the plague. At least you are redeeming yourself to the thread. Perhaps you might be able to redeem yourself to Tina and her family in time. Too late to do anything about the pictures you posted and note I also did NOT go to your site to view the photo's of Tina. This is how strong I feel about that kind or reporting. Of course it is my personal opinion - others might "DIG" it . IF an article reflects the actions of the writer and those actions are aggressive and offensive.....I choose to pass on it. I am trying NOT to respond to your post, but you just are asking for this one. You are totally encapable of comprehendeing when someone is joking around. I was referring to Grey's little "play" of buying into the Black Ops thing in his last chapter. He mentions a newpaper clipping in Duane's old wallet. You see I know this clipping has another meaning and what it means. Nothing mysterious about it and nothing Black Ops about it. Whatever Cugie Wants Cugie get! It is hilarious what one can read into a small clipping in a dead man's wallet... Especially one who has confessed to being Dan Cooper. Perhaps the story really starts in N.Y. with Roach Studios. I am not trying to be funny right now, but I am cracking up! The next line and unrelated is "The Disenchanted". I am not from N.Y. and have only been there twice - never did get to see a Broadway Musical. Maybe Duane and his wife of the times did. We only assume it was a hard pull because Cossey said so. Cossey seems to enjoy spoofing and playing with people who inquire about the Norjack gear. We have a few examples of that. A C9 canopy in an NB6 rig doesnt have to be a hard pull, even if the handle has been moved to right outboard. Cossey allegedly has told some people it was an NB8 not an NB6. An NB8 has a larger container volume. Even an NB6 container can be extended giving more volume inside the closed rig. It's an easy job for a rigger and many surplus rigs had this mod done. The bailout rig that Cooper jumped was originally configured as someone's last chance to survive. It was probably made for a jumpship pilot. Does it make sense that you'd set it up to be nearly impossible or highly difficult to open? Some jumpship pilots have bailed out VERY low as most wait for all the passengers to get out first if there is a fire or structural failue. A hard pull adds deadly seconds to deploying a chute. Does that make sense for an emergency rig? Think about it. 377 377 buying into a conspiracy! Do you realize what you just said above? Reminded me of something Knoss said to me on the phone one time and I told him he was nuts. He had claimed that the chutes were prepared for this jump by someone connected to this "group". He even suggested that the chutes may have been rigged so that Cooper would not survive. Maybe the guy was NOT so crazy after all! If this was an "operation" they wanted Cooper to die and this just might explain why later the Government put such an expensive plane into the search. If it was an "operation" Cooper could not get caught - he had to die! Oh What if? Nahhh! that doesn't make sense. Or does it? Remember I am entitled to theories just like everyone else . Blevins you are right - this Stinks! This man has pictures of an innocent woman who was a victim of Coopers and smeared pictures of her as she exists today across the country - putting this woman in jeopardy. I along with many others have entertained the idea of meeting Tina Muchklow for one reason or another. Mine is to ask her about the 2 books and the picture of the little girl, but I have NOT done so. I had her address for over 8 yrs - actually longer, but was unable to verified it until 2003. She knows how to contact individuals and if she wished to do so - she would do it on her own. Duane at no time had a feeding tube while he was in the hospital. To do so would only make him nausea because he had kidneys that did not work at full capacity. Duane had been refusing the medication because he had to be clear of mind when he told the Dr. he wanted to cease any treatment. He had already been instructed on this by whoever prepared his living will. He had been FREE of medication because he knew what he had to do. He had been refusing dialysis after the 1st few days in the hospital. Around the 10th day is when he had his "talk" with the Dr. and made his wishes known. IT was after THIS that he asked me if anyone was in the room. Thinking he wanted a cigarette I started to get them and he waved me off. We needed to talk. This is when he told me "I'mmm Dan Cooooper" and since I didn't understand he spent several minutes trying to tell me - but, I was not hearing any of it. The Dr had said he would be gone in about 5 days but he would live for 11 days. Duane DID NOT ask for a chaplain. I am the one who suggested he talk to the Hospital Chaplain and he was adamant - NO. Obviously they had already tried to talk to him. I met an Army Chaplain who was at the hospital for his Mother-in-law who was in the SNF and also terminal. He volunteered and Duane agreed. When I left the 2 of them in the room Duane is talking about Belgium - I just did NOT understand. I thought Oh my God - he is lieing to a Chaplain. They spent about 30 minutes together and that is all I know about the conversation other than the Chaplain telling me Duane knew exactly what he was doing. About 8 days later the nurses are complaining that Duane didn't seem to be failing as quickly as they expected. That afternoon I found out why. I went to straighten his pillows and found tissue with the pills in it. He had been spitting them out. He told me WE had to talk. He wanted to go for a ride and back to the house. He was to heavy for me to manuever. I got permission and dressed him and about that time we had a terrible storm. I took him to a covered area at the back of the Hospital door to smoke. While there a Paratrooper was also there and Duane mentioned things I do not remember - but, it was about the WAR and parajumping and the different grades and squadrons...Duane was doing all of the talking. I have often wonder WHY was there a Army paratrooper at that Hospital visiting - There is no ARMY base here. The next day Duane still wants to go home - the storm continues to rage. They are making sure he takes the morphine by having him open his mouth so they can see if he swallowed it. Again I can get him no further than the Front door this last time. He wants to go for a ride because he had to show me something. "Let get on down the Road, Jo - Lets get this show on the Road" - he said it loud...this is what he is shouting after I take him back to the room - he is upset we could not go home. I wrote down what he was saying at that time, so I may not have it exact from memory tonight. Now remember this if you never remember anything I have ever told about Duane Weber - I had NO idea on that day March 27, 1995 what Cooper said on that plane in 1971. On our anniversary on March 27th 1995 - the day before he died - I didn't know the story about Cooper. That night the Nurses want to put a patch on his back. Duane tells them NO - he is out of the bed and on his feet - he had the strenght of a healthy man not a man about to die. He said "They are going to Kill me". He was shouting and fighting the nurse and me. I did not know at that time if they you put a morphine patch on the back that the plastic sheets would cause him to OD...or I would have STOPPED it and took him home to die. The nurses INSISTED I go home and get some rest - I had been there 98% of the time for over 3 wks almost 4. The next morning when I got there they tell me he is going. I sit with him and he looks at me and says the strangest thing. I was writing a letter and had pen and paper in my hand. I wrote the words. "The mommy wants to kill the baby, The baby wants to kill the mommy Take the baby down Stairs. No, bring the baby back upstairs. I can't go till the baby gets here." A few moments later he says "I love you" and then he started the death gurgle and his eyes glazed over. He was gone! It is difficult reliving this, but anyone who knew him knew he was NO Coward - He was a brave man and he fought to live, but he was not dieing fast enough to suit - Hospice. I later learned about the Patch and the plastic sheeting when a young man in that same hospital OD'd from a patch being on his back 3 or 4 yrs later. Always made me wonder, but that is something I will never know. I knew he was dying and his quality of life was non-existent. What would I want under those same circumstances? This is WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ON MARCH 28, 1995. He faced death without fear - but, he wanted to go on HIS terms. I didn't understand what he was trying to tell me for 11 days. I am such a damn idiot - so dumb! Why didn't I listen? - why didn't I get a recorder ?- WHY didn't I do these things ?- ALL Because I didn't know who DAN Coooooper was. Such a DO DO I am. There is NO proof of my story, but, it is the truth and nothing but the truth - I told this story to family and friends BEFORE I ever knew who Dan Cooper was. It is written in my planner on that day. I will NEVER forget those days in the hospital as long as I live. The FBI missed something and they are so bull-headed they don't want to admit it. Damn the FBI and Damn the government for all of it secrets - Secrets that have destroyed lives. Because the FBI cannot and will not look at the obvious - that is why I say it was a government cover-up....but, WHY? Is the FBI that stupid?
