Would it surprise you that I knew how to reach Tina for yrs! I had her contact information for yrs - as early as 2003, but it was much easier to pretend I had NO knowledge of her whereabouts or exactly what is happening in her world right now would have happened back then. I have more compassion for those who have been harmed by the media because I know who it affects you life and your relationships. I spoke with Tina many yrs ago and that one short conversation was all I needed to know she needed NO intrusions into her life. She called me out of consideration for what I was going thru and I have never forgot it. This is when "He was a very Sad Man" came to be. Not thru the FBI but thru a conversation between Tina and I. An expression Agent Carr included into the FBI site, but as far as I know I am the only person she ever said this to. Outside of the above the rest of the short and sweet conversation is very private. It was easier for me to lie about knowing where Tina was - that way people were NOT badgering me for the information. I do not have the stomach to confront individuals I feel have been harmed by this whole Cooper thing - because I also have been harm (be it Duane was Cooper or not). His telling me he was Dan Coooper and all of the other stuff I didn't need to know. Perhaps it was because I did NOT question him about his past. Yesterday was dead and gone. I wish I had listened more to what he was telling me. I wish that those last 4 yrs I had let him open up to me - but, I didn't want to know. What he did tell me was scary - maybe it was a self defense mechanism with in me that just didn't want to know bad things about the man I loved. Maybe I felt the things he was telling me were unbelievable - I don't know. I know I closed my mind because what I did learn and what I did know scared the hell out of me. Even my Uncle who met Duane told the family back home - "Jo is married to Mafia" . I never knew of this until Duane had died, but my Uncle heard something or saw something in Duane that only his yrs of experience in the military could sense. Duane and I had picked them up at the airport for my parents 50th anniversary. I came to the thread insearch of information asking question. I don't remember the title of the thread and cannot find post #1. Because of the interest my question stirred up - someone here set up the a thread to continue the conversation. I am only asking that Lurker stop REPEATING his same question about Duane's marriages as they are not relavant, but he persists when I have referenced what I know. Note that in the early post I mention 7 marriages, but that was only a guess from what family told me and what I had been able to find out. If all of the documentations are correct then there are 6 marriages. 2 around 1943 (?) 1 around 1945 (no record other than letter to mother about Edna and that he told me he had a daughter. 1 in 1962 Common Law 1 in 1971 Documented 1 in 1978 This is me. Now would someone tell me why it is so important for Lurker to know about the 1st 3 marriages? This is why he is making such a stink and I am very tired or trying to repeatedly understand what does Duane's marriages have to do with his reading books. I am not sure where he learned to skydive, but he did - he kept something called a D-ring which was bought off of me at a garage sale after he died and the man paid me a quarter for it and told me what it was...I didn't know the significance of the item because I did not understand what he was trying to tell me in 1996 when he die nor did I know who Dan Cooper was. The purpose of this post is HOW DO I FIND RECORDS OF JUMPERS FROM THAT TIME FRAME IN THOSE AREAS AND/OR PHOTOS OF JUMPERS FROM 1968 TO 1971? Can anyone help me? The FBI has not been of any help at all although they did take his DNA almost 4 yrs (MARCH OF 2003) ago after I had gone public, just to keep me quiet. My old puter crashed and I am having the photos pulled off next wk. I would like to circulate the photos of him from various times in his life to skyjumpers to see if anyone can recognize this man. My research of 10 feet deep is detailed and does everything except put him in a parachute. This is the one thing that will end this. This man I was married to for 17 yrs had been in 6 federal prisons in 7 states for a total of almost 17 yrs before I met and married him. I still have never seen a parachute in person. I was looking to find out what the items Duane had in his possession could be as the man I sold them to at a garage sale after Duane died told me they were parts for a parachute. Lurker: I am repeating the post below that answers your question, what do you not understand. You are sounding like a writer for the Enquirer looking for any information you can get for free. You go out and find youself a PI. I can't afford one and what has been done in the way of research - has been volunteered and is owned by those who discovered the information. Sluggo found one of the early marriage records - and it is still supect and unresolved. The 2 marriages where so close together - it leaves lots of question of if it can be counted as a marriage. What would any marriage Duane had prior to 1962 have to do with anything. We have explored Duane past martial records prior to 1962 and we only found 2 records of marriages back in the 40's. Both records were suspect and only 1 yr apart. Never found a marriage record for Edna who he supposedly had a child by named Zona born aroung 1943 -1946 as best as we can determine from a letter he sent to his mother about his father's death while he was in SanQuentin and what was shared with me by family members. We also had a letter where the mother had enquire of one of the 2 other marriages and this has been discussed in prior post. As for a PI - do you actually know what it would cost for a PI - more money than I have. The PI would have to actually go to different states and search archived records...he would also have to know the alias and /or recognize other aliases Duane used. We don't know them all. She admitted to being with him when he was running from the FBI in 1966 and she related the details that took place when he was arrested at the apt complex and about the FBI agent giving her a ride back to MO. where she had family and children. They left Mo and headed to CO where her other sister lived. They both were working in Co when the FBI from MO. came knocking on their door in 1969. In Atlanta, Ga - Duane again goes to work selling insurance and the first company was the JMWAVE organization. I have all of their tax files from 1968 to 1972 when they got divorced. I suppose because his answer to a slip of his tongue in 1979 may explain that "that's where Cooper walked out of the woods" would be the reference point. Yrs later after finding out who Dan Cooper was and his confession in 1995 - it was no longer a joke. In 1979 on the trip I knew about Cooper, but had NEVER EVER read anything other than an article in a Ga. newspaper the day after the crime. Duane stole 10's of thousands of dollars during that time span and did not get caught. Unknowingly I met a man I believe now to have been his fence one time...a reputable high end Jewerly store owner in Atlanta. Evidently they had a personal relationship - because of the conversation that took place. For those unable to follow me: Duane went on diaylsis in early 1990 and we separated for 6 wks so he could make adjustments - this occurred because Duane had got caught trying to obtain a drivers license under his alias John C. Collins. It was at this time I found out Duane had used another name and had been in Jefferson Prison. We talked a little about it and only what he volunteered. I did not think it my place to pry about this - I was just glad he had decided to come back home - I missed him. He had stayed in the trailer at the shop for a few wks after the arrest or 72 hour observation. The Dr. managed to get him put under 72 hour observation rather than being charge for a felony because of his health condition. Of course that DR did not know Duane was a long time criminal. Duane did managed to get an ID and took a plane trip I didn't know about - he needed that ID to enter a safe deposit box under the name of John Collins. This is when all of "the stuff" started to show up - bag, stub, money and ticket. After Duane moved back home he told me a little about life in prison. He told me they used to sit around talking about doing the BIG ONE. There were veterans in his group - I do not remember much of the conversation and it was short, but it is the first time I had ever known him to talk about highjacking planes. But it was just talk about the things they did to occupy their time - I derived nothing from the conversation that would indicate Duane had done this. I think Jefferson is where the seed was planted. Because the evidence and this conversation came during the same time period - it is the only link I can make. Remember I was working 10 -12 + hours a day and then coming home to do my book work and cook all the meals (I never saw Duane fry an egg). After I understood who Dan Cooper was (note not D.B.Cooper) it hit me like a ton of bolts. He had been telling me his story, but I didn't hear it - just like you guys don't hear me. You have not had that 'Gottcha" moment yet. The wife told me that Duane had one friend he used to go to Al to see (alone). This was approx 1970 - He was supposedly helping this guy clean out houses over the wk-ends. She never met the guy - but, she thought it was someone he had known from Jefferson. It was during this time he asked her to buy him a dicky jump suit. I do not know the significance of this but I am interjecting it because it happened. I assume that doing a lot of bending - it was hard to keep pants up. She evidently felt it important to mention that she never met the man but that he had a wht van--- paneled. In 1990 while he was living in the travel trailer at the shop to allow him to adjust to the kidney machine I saw this same book in the trailer....therefore I though it might he his handwrinting . Ann his helper was positive the writing in the book was Duanes'. Without a handwriting expert it doesn't matter. I know when I write with a pencil my letters and strokes change. Who knows what else was going on in her personal life and what effect the incident had on that. One day this whole mess happened out of the blue, and I am sure was very frightening and stressful. But maybe her reaction hasn't been so much to do with the actual incident, disturbing as it must have been, but the ongoing un-asked-for and incurable condition of being associated with it. Not everyone would want that kind of attention, to be known for and defined as a person primarily by something like that, something completely out of one's control. Wanting to block things out, and hiding out somewhere could understandably be way to deal with something like that. Since Grey made her location known we know first hand she has experience an unwelcomed invasion of her privacy. Certain perpetrators went far beyond trying to get at her in interviews - they took pictures of her. Some even lay claim to actually having obtained interviews. One told me he used a pretense to get to see her and did not identify himself. Now he is saying he did talk to her about the crime....so which did he do? The handwriting was not looked at by experts, but certain individuals on this thread did an excellent job of it...and from what they found - it appears the handwriting may not have been that of Weber. Duane was spinning a tale from 1978 to his death - hardly! The only book I ever saw Duane read was NorJack...while we were in Virginia....and that tattered book about smokejumping he brought home - the one with the picture of him in it. Duane did NOT use the Mafia word. I use it so that others can understand what I am trying to say. I give up this is wearing me down to nothing - it is a loosing battle. I witnessed actual transactions - but don't know what they were about, but Duane was the carrier. I cannot imagine what the founder of a large organization connected to Government contracts would have to do with a small time con man trusting him to deliver a package to a man who appeared to be very wealthy and who I was later told during my questioning of individuals out of Duane's past was M out of Chicago. Bear in mind I have NO idea what a LEO is. Memphis: The story about the trip to Memphis and the rifle are very very true. Tie: The tie story was told to me by an individual who was but a child in 1971. It was one of his memories of Duane and something that they talked about at family get togethers yrs later when Duane was no longer with them. Bay of Pigs: The Bay of Pig is because he showed me where JMWAVE had their offices and he told me about their activities. He also me about the planes they acquired. He talked about a airport they used. Duane was in prison 1950-1957. He went back in prison 1960 -1962 and then supposedly 1966-1968 (this one I question). He was supposedly in Jefferson under the name of John C. Collins the sentence was commutated under that name. Duane was pissed! That statement came from the wife of the times. Duane worked for a JMWAVE Company as an insurance saleman - an ex-con fresh out of prison along with several others that were excons. A man with this company had Mafia and Other connections. Duane even delivered a package to him in 1981 while we were married and Duane did NOT work for the man at the time. The tranfer of the 'package' took place in ATL between someone from a meeting for a company we did not work for...the very meeting where I was NOT allowed to take pictures. The last time I would see Ed Horan. NOTE Ed Horan seems not to have existed yet he worked for the company whose meeting we attended - supposedly as a guest per Duane I took a picture of him that night. The FBI never checked out a man who knew Duane by John and the one who told me that Duane knew people in high places and if I wanted to be around to play with my grand kid to destroy everything I had and never look back. That is it in a nutshell. EVERY WORD of the ABOVE is the WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. The words have not been embellish and these are stories I have told repeatedly....I will swear to this under oath. Much of the above can be documented with pictures and employee records. When I first started this there were 3 individuals still alive involved in the JMWAVE /Mafia connection (all 3 deceased now), but still alive when I told the FBI the first time. I can also supply the name of the man who took the rifle. He was in prison not long ago for another crime in Fl. You can contact him and ask him about the rifle and what he did with it. I believe you referred to me as a conspiracy theorist and that is way off. In my search into Weber's past things have come to my attention - and again I invite you to view these things yourself. There are others I do not expose in the thread because their lives were forever altered by Duane Weber during his life. They are NOT things I will expose in a public thread and to do so involves other people who do not need to be hurt more than they already have. You are wrong that I will not accept explanations from the FBI, but they do not need to be Frosted with untruths as the letter of 1998 was. I need to see what evidence they looked at to make a judgement. I have harped on the DNA and fingerprints because of the letter and a subsequent phone call yrs later that disputed their findings. Remember if you have had a hard time following me - How do you think the FBI did especially when the information goes thru several hands and some of it was never told to the FBI at all? Why, because my naive mind thought talking to ex-FBI was okay because he listened, but I was not able to put what I said on paper. Everytime I tried to write something it came out the way it does in this forum.,.. all random and not connected...I can't think like normal people. I will inject in the middle of a conversation something totally unrelated and this confuses anyone who does not know me well or has no knowledge of what I am talking about. I have never asked the FBI for anything other than an explanation supported with the evidence, DNA, prints and details regarding the criminal past of Weber - supported by documents. I want these to be provided to me and then I want a chance to discuss them after I have had sometime to review them. I know there is something the FBI has missed, because there is just too much about Duane's involvement in this crime to be totally missed. An Agent might not see it, but someone else like myself could look at the files and see something that might mean absolutely nothing to the AGENT and it be the key a family member will zero in on or someone like myself so closely connected to the subject. If I didn't want the truth more than anything in the world - I could have sold my story yrs and yrs ago. I had the offers, but I told them I did NOT want to proceed without Proof. I believe my words where "I need more proof". I did not want to go public when I did - but the FBI forced my hand. 11yrs later I still have not received documentation and consultation I requested, but these things have been granted to media and writers. A normal person requesting information about their husband and being denied that - created a conspiracy climate? If they would have taken the time 11 yrs ago when I confronted them to provide me with an adequate explanation - I could have had a normal life. If I had WANTED to be a big part of this grand Adventure as you called it and wanted to interject myself into the case - I would have gone public when I contacted the FBI or shorty thereafter. I am basically a person who never likes to stand out - and I would be the last one to put my hand up in class, but always knew the answers. I was never one to want to be on the front row - or to try to get attention. I preferred to stay in the background, because I do NOT feel adequate when I try to verbalize things. My social skills lack connective verbalization with random conversations. I do this on paper also. Even my trying to explain this makes me sound like an idiot. Perhaps you should listen to the first interview I ever did - a radio program. It is on the web someplace - what you hear is not the woman you talk to one on one, but someone who is actually afraid of being made to look bad or make a social faux paux. I do well one on one and where the other party knows the subject well enough to ask me question, but NOT to interrupt me when I go off in different direction because then I will never remember what I was trying to say in the first place. My story is more credible than any out here or has ever existed, because I have NOT made any portion of it up. It is not a distorted child hood memory or something I learned. My memory is visual. Do not ask me to memorize a poem or a song - that is not visual. I can remember conversations when related to a place or something I am seeing. The above is why when I went to WA in 2011 I had additional recalls of the 1979 trip. The 2001 trip was to set up and I had no freedom to roam on my own and to go the way my memory took me. Back in 2001 I would never have dreamnt of taking a trip in 2011 in which I actually rented a car and set out to re-create the trip Duane and I made in 1979. I knew if I did not make that trip when I did - I would never be able to do it. I do not regret spending that 5k, because it gave me the answers I was hindered from obtaining in 2001 because a certain other person in the Cooper saga interjected himself on the crew and I ended up with a guide who didn't even know the place I was describing was LaCames Lake - not the Columbia.
